Hi,has anyone out there been in the same situation as me?
I'm already divorced frm x husband since 2007 and in the syariah court order,(mine is muslim marriage)he is supposed to pay me $6870 total for my maintenance,which is in instalment of $150 mthly..The 1st instalment started in jan 2008 but he refused to pay so I filed complaint at family court.
I went tru mediation process and he agreed to pay so matter was settled amicably.He paid for bt 7 mths then stopped paying again.He called me up and said he don't want pay me anymore coz he said y shud he pay wen I'm no longer his responsibility.So i filed 2nd complaint at family court.
I wanted to enforce the total sum of my maintenance money coz stated in the syariah order that if he default payment he have to pay full amt.I went tru mediation again and he told the mediator he can't pay full amt,only can pay $150 mthly.So again he started paying $150 but only for 3mths then he said he got retrenched.he was supposed to show me proof of his retrenchment letter but failed to do so.And I filed the 3rd complaint.Again it was the same mediation process and he promised to pay $150 promptly after stern warning.
Yet after only paying for 1mth he stopped paying again and I have to go court again to file complaint against him..This is such a hassle to keep gpoin tru the same process over n over..
Has anyone been in my situation?and has anyone out there been able to claim full amount of maintenance?
