Life after divorce

Life is great..! I derived happiness in many things I started doing and felt that the bond with my kids are much deeper. I am much happier than before. Emotionally more stable and confident, wonder why also.. but I know that I am actually much stronger than I thought I am

Hi TPK and mint_leaf,

Thanks for sharing.
My main concern is the kids' mental wellbeing.
How did you ladies manage the 'transitioning' with them?

How is there to prove?

We live well for our own benefit and well being not to prove to others.

It is of course tough for the children. But with love, and lots of it - it should help to smoothen the transition. Better still, maintain good relationship with ex and help to make ex a better parent than before.

If you put in the right focus and with the right attitude - divorced parents can be better parents than when they were happily married - even though it may not be a 100% complete family.

I foresee a bitter road ahead with the splitting.

My biggest fear is that the children will be tramautised by this.

Depending on their age, they might not even understand what is a divorce or what just happened. But by being positive, informing them the situation in a calm manner and not be a cry baby in front of the kids, i think they will be less affected by it.

The biggest factor that will tramautise the children are the adults, not the incident.
