LG washing machines

Ha, yup... Maybe, in future.

Coz I'm quite a "heavy duty" user.

So something long-lasting may be better.

perhaps. like my house. cos we have many adults in the house but a lot of different fabrics hence smaller loads but numerous time.

typical load is 2-3 full rounds every day.

and i cannot afford one that keeps on breaking down. so yeah.

The build quality is undeniable. But just that once u have one. you will seriously not even bother to look at others cos the build quality of others seem dubious hahah..

cheers

Let us know of the washing quality of ur machine yeah.

basically is for bedsheet protector & comforter.
I have finally settle for Brandt WKF1248A as the full cycle only take 1 hr as compare to the rest of the model. My concern is water & electricity bills. Hope this model will not fail me.

Hope to save up for getting a Miele in future.

In the meantime, I will just patiently wait for my LG F1422TD to "retire".

Jasmine,

Give us your reviews on your usage for the Brandt machine which you purchase....

I went around several departmental stores and they also recommended me this same machine.

Do you mind revealing to us how much you purchase it?

I have started only to use it last week and my clothing are abt half load. I am using the 45 mins wash function and i found the washing satisfactory.
I have purchased from Harvey Norman at the price of $1299 during the promotion period and understand that the price has revised to RP $1399 liao

Hi all

I've just bought the LG F1422 washer, I use Persil powder, how much detergent you use? How to tell if it is too much sudsing? TIA!

In general. For 5kg load probably 3/4 cup. 6kg then maybe around 4/5 cup and probably 7kg should be full cup. The cup is the one given in the box. And also how to tell too much sudsing is when its washing u see very foamy with lotsa bubbles. Its should have a little foam with a slight layer above waterline. I like to use dixan. They r slightly better and I like the fragrance better haha.

Hi ridz

Thanks for your reply. I really appreciate it, it's been so long since I watched my washing being done, what is the waterline?

With this LG washer, I can hardly see any water pooling in the drum, only when it tumbles while washing, I can see some water splashing against the glass window!

I tried washing 3 bath towels, 3 face towels and 5 hand towels and used 3/4 Persil cup powder, the towels came out a little soapy and hardly any Persil smell, I've always used this amount with my old Ariston, my towels would smell great and non soapy feel.

By the way, would you happen to know if a rubber mat is the only way to go for stacking my dryer on top of my washer? The delivery man refuse to drill my old stacking kit onto my LG washer, he said to use a anti-slip rubber mat. (the type people put on their car's dash board)

My old stacking kit is very old but it has a pull out shelf, I haven't been able to find anything like this, even Ariston says that they don't sell this any more, would you know where I can get one of these?

Anyone here stacked their dryer on top of washer?

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks.

As a general rule if you dont see it bubbling, you are alright. It should feel soapy (you can roughly touch the water as it pumps out after the main wash, then at least you know the next round if its the right dosage)

So should see some foam or slight bubble. but not like the entire water over the clothes all very bubbly.

Yup continental style washing typically use very little water hence you may not be able to see unless washing delicates, etc.

its not that they dont want but it may pose some technical challenge for them in case anything happen to the machine like tumbling down due to improper installation then who is to blame?

the old stacking kit uses non universal kinda. unlike the new ones that is rather universal.

Yes you cannot find the ones with the pull out shelf here in singapore. UK possible. not in singapore. no market. unfortunately. you can try calling electrolux. they used to have if im not wrong about 200+. not sure now. that was way back too.

stacking on top of washer still best to use a stacking kit and not a non slip those round rubber stopper cos its still not safe.

The new formulation of persil sometimes can be a little funny thats why i change to Dixan. funny as in sometimes too foamy but put less become not clean and cos my washer will sense the suds left behind and does additional rinses as required so sometimes i see the timing jump up to accommodate the rinse. hence i changed to dixan.

anyway the dixan sold in singapore is in fact the original persil formulation. but the persil in singapore is a modified formulation cos its manufactured by another coy

Hi ridz

Thanks for advice, really appreciate it very much. I'll check out Electrolux.

Where do you buy Dixan detergent? I hardly see this in Singapore. We've always used Persil powder and liquid with front loaders for years and I've tried Spin low suds once and it was very sudsy and the smell is so so to me.

Thanks again for your input.

oh yeah bosch too might have the pull out. they showed in their catalogues but never heard of them bringing it in.

Dixan detergent can get from bigger supermarket chains. Usually at cold storage. they are slghtly pricier though (made in germany by henkel hence the price)

let me recall... cold storage usually can find both the powder, tabs as well as the gel (liquid) - though the liquid is more pricier and is equally as pricey as the tabs the powder being the least dear but more expensive than spin or persil. Giant at IMM has the powder dixan and tabs.

Hi ridz

Thank for sharing! I do recall the Dixan tabs... tabs are great for using at laundrymats overseas, I just carry a few tabs and a few sheets of Bounce, it's so convenient.

What do you use, Dixan tabs, liquid or powder?

I'm not too keen on tabs and liquids for home washer as I find sometimes there is some residue left over in the detergent compartment like they are not dissolved fully or flushed thoroughly into the drum. Then it's extra chore to clean out detergent compartment everyday

Will check out the stores for the Dixan powder.

I use dixan powder. Though the gel smell nice too but too dear for me. so stick with the dixan powder.

so far the gel doesnt have any reside cos its gel unlike the persil which is concentrate.

dont have such problems though about the detergent still left in the drawer.
