hi all
I'm looking for kuas - have seen the House of E at Tanjong Pagar. Am looking for alternatives to compare the pricing & design before deciding. anyone has anything to share. thks

Does anyone know where can i get large size kua? I've visited nos of bs but they dun have my size, even HOE doesn't have my size. Im size 18 - 20. Can anyone help?

Rental from HOE starts from $268 onwards. If ur choice is the more elaborated kind like silver embriodery, they will cost much ,much more. Their new arrivals of the usual red kua will be ard $298.

you can try to contact Jasmine at 97821144 for kua rental, rates between $100-$180 only. She is quite flexible and helpful.
 
ANyway interested to buy my Kua which i wore at my AD last 2 weeks, can let me know yea. i'm interested to sell off at attractive price.

I would like to find out if there is any place I can rent the kua for less than 100? The BS I went to quote 180 for rental.
 
pianojazz, i wore myAD wedding shoe (open toe type) and it goes well with the kua. but of course you can also wear kua's shoe too .

I had rented my KUA at The Wedding Gift Shop for $68/day. But have to note that they do not dry clean the KUA.

Another option is to look for Jasmine. Think she offers between $120~$180. HP: 97821144

do we need to dry clean kua before we return to the wedding gift shop? btw, where is this shop? do they rent out kua shoes as well?

Nope, u do not need to dry clean the KUA when you are returning it. This shop is at Delfi Orchard #03-06. The person in charge is Doris. I did not ask about the KUA shoes but I do see some on display. You can check it out.

Share with u all on my shoes.... not bought it at sales kua shop but a youngster shoes shop... it's really match nicely with kua.

Any comment? I bought it last week at HK.

My AD on 22nd March 2007, still half year to go, how abt yours?

I will rent my kua from my BS. Will not get one from HK cause don't feel want to keep it and no chance to wear after the wedding. Some more is EX!!!

My AD is on 26 Jan 07. 5 more months....

I tried to rent the KUA from my BS too, but each set is going to cost me $400! I feel the pinch to spend this amount of money, somemore its not going to be mine at the end of the day. So I have to find alternatives. And you are right, its no point to buy one, coz you are not going to wear it in future. But maybe can sell to others but chances are rather slim.

I have compiled the shops where you can get KUA besides from the BS:
1) Wedding Gift Shop
2) House of Etiquette
3) Chinatown Classic
4) From a girl called Jasmine

hee.. I have to do some homework, no choice, budget tight ah...

my colleague just rented her kua and her hubby's kua (those with a red sash) from Jasmine, its satisfactory. I went with her during fitting, service is very good. kua only $100 and photos turn out to be nice too. perhaps u can give it a try

I no worry on the KUA cause is in my package, so i just choose it instead to choose others tea dress. Which BS u sign?

thats good. My BS is La Belle. Their KUAs are handmade from HK so it cost approx $400 for rental. I did not take it so decide to source around for other alternatives. Which is your BS then?

the wedding gift shop (been to their website v nice but din say abt kua) do not dry clean the kua, nor do u need to dry clean the kua when u return? tat means we need to dry clean it b4 we wear it!!! right??

my BS does not provide kua yet as they havent bot it fm Hk yet, so i have no kua for my PS, not sure if i can have it on my AD, but FH n coordinator told me wear CS...

My BS is S*l*tar Broadway (replace * with e). Not a very nice BS, actually is one stop bridal shop. Due to budget so just blur blur signed with them without checking to others. Think back a bit regret too. Anyway, so far so good with them. They have a lot KUA cause they already existing for 20+ yrs.

I am MTM the red modern Cheongsam for my EG, will try out next week. Hopefully it's turn out ok and i didn't expect got WOW effect.

the wedding gift shop does rent out KUA, but it is only in descriptive form in their website, not the pictures though.

According to the lady, they do not dry clean the KUA and neither does the bride need to dry clean it prior to returning. For cleaniness purpose, it is best to wear a camisole or tube underneath the KUA.

The rental is $68 per day. What I did was to rent it on the eve of the wedding and return it one day after the wedding. They are closed on Sun. However, she is flexible to let you have it till Mon if your wedding happens to be on a Sat.

CS is nice too. That was my initial intention but I realised that I will only get to wear KUA on my wedding so I went on with the KUA.
