Just like to share a good weath of Park Connectors NParks has built and following outlines a few we've explored:

1. ECP to Siglap, Bedok and Pasir Ris.
2. Pasir Ris to Changi and back to ECP.
3. Kallang to Bendemeer, Toa Payoh and Bishan.
4. Ghim Moh up to Clementi, Jurong, Bukit Batok and Bukit Timah.
5. West Coast to NUS, Kent Ridge, Telok Blangah and Mount Faber.
6. Jalan Kayu to Seletar air base to old Thomson road.
7. Sentosa loop.
The above are just some examples of the 20+ routes we've plotted. Most parts of the routes are off trafic and really scenic.

We usually start at 7.30am on Sundays and distance range from 8 to 20km.

Getting bored and losing momentum of your usual jogging routine and looking for new routes? If you enjoy nature, detoxification from a good run but drags from your usual route.. come join us! We're a small group consisting of both genders.

Don't worry about the distance, as we go REALLY slow la..

Hey Mark,

You must have endured great sufferings and it muz have been a hell of a recovery.
Thanks for your support and am sure your very positive postings have motivated many others.

Friends: Prove yourself worng that YOU can do it.
Have faith and trust that it's gonna be fun and be rejuvenated..

Mark, used to jog regularly in my younger days, but I don't jog these days as I have water retention in both knees. The other time I had to take oral medication to drain the water.

By the way, is inline skating bad for the knees?

Mark, hope you don't mind if I reply Doll:

Try taking supplements such as glucosamine sulfate that many swears by it. Or you can wear knee guards while you exercise till your knee Cartilages are sufficiently seasoned. As far as I know, inline skating is ok for the knees.

If you don't mind our SLOW speed... come inline skat while we jog..

Dingo, thanks for the offer. I can't inline skate YET haha

Mark, if I fall please throw a cushion on the floor to tahan your auntie here hehe

Dingo, cool har...
me too used to jog at pasir ris near my mum's hse last many years ago..
until now haizzz... dun even bother!!!

Now too tired liao... cos of my heels perhaps..keke

Think the medical term is called Edema. For my case, fluid accummulates in the knees and causes discomfort and swelling. I think it was due to exercise. I used to run a few times a week for fitness.

Mark, I'm scared of falling and scarring...

btw Doll how long can you jog. Last time i went inline skating with one gal. she told me she "new" in inline skating...

yes her movement actually quite clumsy but she got an amazing stamina and can skate for 5-hr..i was panting like a dog yet cannot show it out

Hi delinbb,

I was also having knee problem several years ago. I took it slow and jog with knee guards initially. Think the muscle tissues and lingament grew stronger and now not pain anymore.

Me ta por..

Wat wat, me becomes cushion this time? Haha a few friends ever said I made a wonderful pillow. I'm very huggable.

I suddenly remember that Doll likes to touch my arms while talking to me. ;) Dangerous to skate with her.

Greenie, you should be thankful that I never said your arms very muscular lor haha.

Mark, some one obviously tall commented that I am suitable to do inline skating since I am short with low CG. Any comment?

Well can lah. you can blade. Why not we go rollerblade after my exam then Green will prepare sandwiches and bbq chicken wind to rewards us for the "hardwork"

doll seriously i thnk u are suitable to blade.

Dingo,

i told my colleagues abt it...they scared and me too scared that we cannot run dat far..
We see No. 1 to 7 really wanna faintzzz...LOL

Hi Delinbb,

Ya.. agree with you that 1-7 might seem daunting.. But the routes are really intriguing with many pleasant surprises of flora and fauna, back ally waterways of Singapore that many have not seen. What the group always joke about is the amount of tax we've paid in building these and what a waste if we do not explore them.

Sentosa loop is the old SAFRA biathalon route from Rasa Sentosa to Satalite station, tanjong beach and back (about 10km).

Plus we really go very slow with ah-peh overtaking us :P . I also provide music in my backpack through MP3 speakers.
