Will be randomly posting some Indian items *post wedding sales ( my wedding ended...sob sob). Looking back, I think I was a bridezilla!! Lol.
I purchased a set of Indian dolls (both bride and groom).
I used it during my engagement and reception.
There is a possibility that you can use them as decorative pieces on the wedding car.

Hi everyone...

Congrats & best wishes to those whose "big day" is finally over...

I'm about 36 days away from my Engagement / ROM.
Only now, I'm feeling the "stress" of the event...

My updates to the event...
- Venue: Chevrons Club Ballroom (Jurong East) due my "huge" guestlist from both sides.
P.S. (a venue to consider if anyone wants to avoid the city area.... its a beautiful room with Roman style pillars and a huge stage, traditional weddings can also be done there too - can accommodate till 600 pax with round tables)
- Food: 2 options were provided; Brinda's and Riverwalk Tandoori (I chose the first as suggested by parents)
- MUA: Ananthy
- Video / Photo: Angel Fotographs (Shan)
- Emcee / DJ: Friend of mine

The package provided by Chevrons pretty much covered everything from invitations till guest favours; hence there was little to source on my own...

Not sure if I'm too late to check on pre-wedding photography... not that I would want an album; probably just a few pictures, or at least 1 for display during the ROM.
Anyone has any suggestions; looking for SG ones preferably...
My fiancé is always out-of-town these few days and its so difficult to get him to get a proper photoshoot; hoping to do a proper one later...

We have about 100 pax and do not want to go for very expensive places as we are still going to have our traditional wedding early 2015. Does anyone have any place to recommend? Thanks :)

Estee ! You can try getting a package with sound/lighting/deco - my cousin engaged pandora and they did an awesome job :)
 
Thks bride berries! I have booked sountracx for my wedding decor. Will wait to c if thy can provide me with some contacts as well. For those who need a wedding checklist for your traditional Indian wedding I managed 2 find one online and it has been of veri great help. Thy include small details that most brides might leave out In a frenzy.
If anyone needs the checklist do let me knw! :)
 
@Komathi: Hi there and congratulations.
I would suggest besides getting recommendations from the BTBs, you would really need to go down to scrutinize the place. A few "aha" moments to impart to you; since I went thru the whole event already (I am still in denial - I really ought to leave this forum...lol)
- See if they allow you food tasting (even if its a small event)
- Check and see if it is the same chef that will be cooking your meals that day. Meals often taste different on the actual day and on the day of food tasting as the chefs may change and you may not get the taste you desire.
- Ensure that the place you chose is brightly lit (trust me, it shows on photos).

I have only eaten once at JADE OF INDIA. Pretty cosy and quiet. Not too sure about the charges tho :)

Hi guys! Need some suggestions! :) I'm planning to do my wedding outside temple venue... Like for example safrA function ballroom... Tt kind.... Anyone has ideas or have been to any friends wedding being in such places before? Any suggestions?
 
U can try serangoon gardens country club. Pkg is good. It was already booked when I wanted that venue
so I couldn't get it. Outside venues other than temples get booked way earlier so do make ur booking soon!

Hi there !

I am planning for my wedding which will be held next year April. Planning to have a simple customary and grand wedding banquet at one of the hotel but I am not sure will it be feasible for a indian wedding dinner to be held at hotel . Looking at about 350 guests.
I will be glad if someone can share their experience with me . I have no idea how to plan the table arrangement !!!

Can anyone also share how much will it cost to have a super simple customary wedding at temple
 
Hi brides hope all of u are well finally my house keys are being set to collect hee hee I seem to be doing things backwards well my rom is stipulated to be ard oct area still sourcing venues anyone has done at occ before ? As I'm n Mua will be doing my own mkup n my stylist for my hair ... Finally I'm pretty excited coming down to my own day !!!!
