Hi Ladies,
Thanks so much for the well-wishes! My Wedding's in less than 2 weeks' time...went for my spa session at Subtle Senses last night with my mum. It was a gift from my hubby for us...We sooooooo needed it
We had a full body massage with Whitening Wrap and hair treatment and ended it well with a jacuzzi bath...It was so heavenly!!! Feel like going for another session soon...hehehehe...I strongly recommend that all brides-to-be must go for a spa session to calm their senses and to de-stress b4 their wedding....My mum hired a part-time maid to help around with the cleaning and serving the guests. She'll arrive on monday...Going for my medi & pedi on tues, not going to apply any nail polish on my fingernails cos i want to apply the henna to my fingertips as well....will apply nail polish for my reception. BTW my henna artist is the lady recommended by Fusion Bride...She's a pakistani lady who makes her own henna cones...Lets see how that goes! Will keep you ladies updated...

I'm getting ready to have my makeup soon.. going to the function hall @ 530pm.. so excited now.. putting my last min SK2 beauty mask.. i'm feeling better now, even though i did not eat much.. but some good rest, lots of eye mask and bottles of bird nest does the trick..
Had my bangle ceremony 2 days ago.. Did it at my FH's uncle's place cos my mum will not know what to do.. everything turned out fabulous.. had so much fun and i looked like a supermodel!
But the bangles were so tight.. having a little blood circulation problem... can't take out too.. so had to bear with it for a while..
Had my hennna in the same day morning.. now they turned out really good and dark.. they said that if the henna turns out dark on the palm, it means that you love your FH very much. so the darker the better... hehehe...
i don't know if its true??! Well.. it matches well with my nail color.. i got the manicurist to put all the stones and little nailart on my nails.. nice... i got the Photographer to have pixs taken for the whole process.. Nice.. gonna post on my wed pages soon..
aunties and cousins was helping to deco the room last night so i wonder how it will look like..
I was busy making the angpow box yesterday.. it was so huge.. used the Indian paper to make and with my friend to help doing the finishing touch.. also thanks to my friend, i made some table top photocards gifts using my studio pics and jewelry boxes + some customised hand made journals.. hope my FH relatives love them cos they really helped alot..
No problem with the wedding favours.. they are packed within a day and thanks to the auntie's kids, they are on holis so they helped to pack them.. the packaging looks very good.. and the ceremony sheets are very well done.. they are in the same theme...
anyway... i have nothing much to worry.. all are in place... i hope.. got to get the fake lashes fixed cos mine is extremely short.. you brides take care .. i'm going around to get all the candid shots of my auntie in law wearing the cloth mask.. my cousin brother in law putting on the hair dye... they will appear in my wedding blog ... hahahaha

Kayla>> your mum is doing the right thing.. hired a maid to do all the cleaning and also she needs to take care of you after the bangles ceremony.. you are not allowed to wash, no touching broom and pots and pans... cannot cut your hand and stuff.. so be careful.. if she can wash ur hair the next 2 days will be best cos with the bangles will be tough.. cann't break them too.. i cheat a little.. all metals and gold ones.. only 2-3 are glass...
Oh.. please do not wet ur hands or feets 2 hours before henna.. got scolded by the henna lady.. cos the moisture in the hands will ruin the henna... remove the jewelry early before she comes.. also pls make sure u confirm the design your want.. like you want all the full hand design more complicated ones or the arabic ones.. my hands was done 1 side more complex and the palms more arabic.. up to the wrist.. so can tell the differnce...my feet were done with the arabic designs which was very bare.. aunties said was not well done...so she came back the 2nd day to finish the complete look.. ok lesson learnt..

M going to try out her too. My gf's recommending me her MUA. She's a freelance. Not sure if i shld take freelance. Her makeup's natural n she used to work in Bobbi Brown. Her name's Amutha. My gf is dark n amutha's makeup was not like those that turn out white base. I will be callin her for trial. Will kp ladies in the loop.

Me again! Now officially Mssers...
Still having the butterflies in my stomach after the wedding on Sat.. and partly because i couldn't get used to the food since i had break fast on Sat night.. being Veg for some time, can't eat much.. always feel full whenever i had the meat dishes.. Now sitting on my waterbed tossing and turning, watching TV.. can’t get used to the wobbliness of the bed…..And the bangles on my both arms are making it so hard typing on the keyboards now.. argghh...

I Supposed to change into the Thaai Chain and remove the bangles on the 3rd Day of the wedding which is Monday evening but FIL said not a good day today and tomorrow due to the eclipse.. so no choice need to wait till Wed…

Anyway gals.. thanks to all your well-wishes.. everything went on just fine.. slight hip-cups here and there but everyone in high spirits.. me just simply can't sit still... i was making funny faces and dancing in the makeup room, waiting my turn...MUA said i was a problem child... too energetic as though i was on ecstasy... She almost wanted my bridesmaid to tie me up and sit still !...

Joelle - Belated Congrats!!! Glad to hear that all, if not most, of the wedding went well and you had fun. The story of your MUA was indeed entertaining! So when's the honeymoon?
Sphire - Was your appt with Saheli at 5.30pm last Saturday?? Hahah! I was there in the afternoon too. Left at 4.30pm cos I was running late in meeting my family in Tekka! We nearly met...but didn't. Sigh! But she was very friendly and humble, and I thoroughly enjoyed talking to her mom and her. Not sure if I'm engaging her though. At a crossroads now cos I already have verbally booked with Shanti - and she's just smsed me to call her. Eeks! Dunno what to do.
Kayla - You're such a lucky thing! I don't think my hubs has something like a spa retreat lined up for me.
I've heard of husbands arranging special treats at the bridal suite or organising something during the honeymoon but because I'm taking care of all these arrangements (because they are all booked and arranged from out of Singapore and he's in Aust), I doubt he'll be surprising me with any of these. Big sigh!
Have just met with Hilton to pick out the themes too. But the 3 themes they have look so dated. One is a red theme where the stage decor is abit lacking in style, then there is the off-white theme which has cherubs and offwhite roses (nice and elegant but very English garden like and old fashioned!) and then there is a purple theme with lilac roses (the legs of the stands look bare because there are no floral arrangements round it!). Sigh! Dunno which to choose.
Btw, for anyone who's doing a south indian wedding, what is the window of time given by the temple? Mine is only an hour. 9am to 10am. So my qn is, can the ceremony start at 9am and the thaali still be tied before 10am? Or will it take longer such that we have to start before 9am??

ermm... n i'v got sum enquiries that i hope u can help me with... how does khalsa work? i.e 1) do u HAVE to cater the food frm their own caterer?
2) hw waz the deco? can u bring in your own decorator? 3) hw many tables can the room/ hall accomodate?

Angelic- The YMCA & Some community clubs do conduct the marriage prep courses. but they charge up to $400 per couple. u can choose to do a daily evening course (lasting abt a week) or 3D 2N camp style. i'l definatley b attendin the camp style! it juz soundz more fun!
I havent got a choice of NOT attending the course cuz itz a compulsory pre-requisite for a catholic wedding now. (the church will conduct it though)

Went down to Jinders and Stylemart the other day to look at lenghas..i must say ex...but gorgeous..the few i was shown,that it..couldnt decide...in the end...FH said he will pick..sigh...In-laws juz got back..so hopefully dates will be set soon..

hi sphire, you can get saree material and stich into lengah, if you dun like any of the lengah materials available.
Wat i've done is to grab fabric from Arab street and designed my own clothes even lengah. For plain materials, i got trimmings from the shops tat sell all types of ribbons, etc. I even bought swaroski crystals and added them on. It all depends on how much time you have.
I love to DIY my clothes...always loved designing. Of course you have to spend hours on it though. I'll usually get plain scarf for my suits and diy the designs to make the dupatta elaborate.
Otherwise try shops like Menu, Jinders, stylemart. They have lengah materials. Honestly, pick a saree that you like, if it's net or translucent add lining and use the remaining for dupatta. Blouse material be creative get a western top or kurti tops, otherwise buy material and make the blouse. Mix and match...use your own creativity and u'll be so happy when u see your product.

Otherwise try shops like Menu, Jinders, stylemart. They have lengah materials. Honestly, pick a saree that you like, if it's net or translucent add lining and use the remaining for dupatta. Blouse material be creative get a western top or kurti tops, otherwise buy material and make the blouse. Mix and match...use your own creativity and u'll be so happy when u see your product.

I'm going for a trial with Menaka tomm. Are you planning to wear rakodi or the normal plait with some designs stuck to the plait??
The rakodi designs looks ugly bt can we do away w/o it & just have the plait with the gold bits stuck to it?? Will it look awkward?
Also if I dun like Menaka's jewellery sets, where can I rent some nice sets?

Hi Chick- Ermm... WHATZ EE?? 
i havent gone for the mpc yet.. have heard abt it though.. hw waz yer experience? i would probably be gettin married in St Anthony's (wdlands). they'v juz renovated the basement n the auditoriam looks pretty presentable for the tea reception after the ceremony. By right i shld b havin the weddin at my parish church ( Our Lady Star of The Sea) but my FH's more involved with HIS parish, so it'll make things more easier for us to get the things we want( choir, deco, etc)

my friend's counsin had her make-up done by them.She was mentioning that they dont do the foundation blending very well.She had different colour face and neck on her wedding day.
me and by FH went to meet Daisy last year.Came across as being very professional and all.Sending me mails and all.But ever since i made confirmations to book her,not even one phone call.Had to call her to confirm gown fittings,only to speak with her assistant.Was told by the assistant that i can only choose my gown and fit it like 3 weeks prior to my wedding day.Is that the norm??am i jus being too paranoid??

Chick - I heard you have to keep the bangles from the bangle ceremony on throughout the wedding day. Can only take them off 3 or 5 days after the wedding. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. 
Sphire - What a waste we missed each other at Shereen's. I would have loved to have you sit in and offer your 2cents worth about the make-up!

Re. Shanti - I was talking to her about setting a date for a trial. She digressed and talked about how different BTBs are asking for the same dates. She mentioned 8 Dec and a person by your name (I have a feeling it could be you). But she added that she'll be arranging a trial for the both of you and pending which, who wants to confirm a booking with her. Do you want to give her a call to check about ur trial date dear?
Oh btw, she also shed some light about the 1hr window for the thaali tying. Apparently if the window is 9am to 10am, then the ceremony will probably begin at 8.30am (or thereabts) so that the thaali bit will fall w/i that 1hr window. I told her but no one is going to be there at 8.30am except family and helpers becos guests will follow what's on the invite i.e betw 9am to 10am. But she said that's usually the case. Guests will only be there in full turnout to see the impt bits - brides in their wedding saree and the thaali tying.
Fyda & Suhana & Angelic - Don't have any pics of Shanti's works but if you go to Stylemart and you ask to see them, they'll show you a photo album of her works.
Style Weddings mag also features this couple and the bride had her reception make-up (where she is wearing the white lehenga and the red one)done by Shanti. Not sure if Shanti also did the make-up for the morning event (where the bride is wearing a cheongsam). Managed to find their photos at their PG's website.

Angelic - Shop in Style, the accessories store in the same row as Stylemart and nearest to it has got accessories for rental. I was quoted about $120 for the full set - long necklace, choker, tikka, earrings.

Hey SK - Glad to hear you survived the photoshoot. How many locations did you have? Did the MUA follow you thru the day? You must be excited about seeing the photos. I know I'd be buzzing about the place in excitement. How long will they keep you in suspense for? Heh!

Our photographer was quite flexible. Officially, there are 2 locations. We first took some shots near tanjong pagar itself, then went on to Sentosa ( some pond with greenery and then to tanjong beach for beach shots ) and finally near fullerton for a few more shots..
Majority of the shoot was spent indoors. We got there abt 9.40 am. The make-up artisit started on my make-up and we started indoor shots around 11.30am. After a quick 20 min lunch break, we headed for the outdoor shoot at 4.30 pm and ended at 7pm. The MUA was with us all the way for the indoor shots but she didn't accompany us for the outdoor. There wasn't a need to as my make-up was intact all the way. Photo selection will be in a bout 2 weeks.

Rany - Maybe u shd really tok to ur coordinator. If u dont touch on the deco but jus the flowers, there shdnt be a difference in price unless u request seasonal flowers. Probably u could jus change colours. Put ur feet down girl. We r big customers to hotels. So.. go gal.
