Err... frankly, I don't find her pretty. But what's with the condemnation about her music career and dance move? But, you guys enjoy Madonna and Lady Gaga MTV without raising an eye brow.

Where she got the cash? We don't really know. She has a music career and it could be from her own career or investment earnings. People are quick to judge on things that they do not know for sure.

What we do know, her husband preaches prosperity gospal. That can be seen from his videos online on youTube. A highly controversial theology. It does smell a rat else, CHC would not have been investigated but let the authorities do the investigations before jumping to your own conclusions.

May, not all pastors are well to do. Most churches do not practice prosperity gospal.

oh, don't be so quick to denounce. maybe through the glamour that she projects through her video and the nonsensical lyrics of her songs, she can reach out to people and touch their hearts, in so helping them to look for more spiritual matters.



for one, she is my role model. she shows me that a woman can be extremely versatile. one moment can be in church, the other moment can be dressed up as geisha in the name of art. this sort of fast-changing attitude is what makes people popular and successful in today's age.
 
think it's one of the more painful mtvs that i have sat thru... i closed the window after 20seconds, but i thought i should give it a chance later that day and opened again to listen to the full song... it's still painful. i guess making it free doesn't help, making me pay for it would be a sin in itself.
 
to me, not appreciating her artistry, buying her CDs in bulk and distributing her CDs for free among your colleagues is a sin.

to me, not showing the world such a beautiful face, gorgeous body and sharing the angelic voice with the entire world is a sin.


yes, i admit sometimes she sounds like her tongue is too short, but overall i agree with the saying that she is singapore's best singer and artiste. better still now she is the yellow hair and the thick eye makeup to match, and the prancing around in sports bra also. very befitting modern 40-yr-old woman.

super lah, no one can fight with her. in conclusion, anyone who has negative opinion of her is wrong!

Those two women Madonna or for that matter Lady Gaga, as much as I don't really like them - they are talented for sure... Their outrageous outfits or dance steps or MTVS, yes, controversial but their talents can be seen, if not appreciated.

I don't see an once of talent in our 40 years old SG lady gaga wannabe. So whatever she tries to do becomes a pain.. And a shame really for Singapore.

She is not that famous to make that sort of money to live the lifestyle that she is having. But I will leave it to the right people to investigate. But her lack of talent is so obvious and it is really a pain to watch..
 
and yep, the more-popular religious folks are visibly successful in their own ways, ie. followers, reputation and such; not necessarily finance. just that the extravagant lifestyle will be questioned sooner or later because there involves the respective funds and such.
 
what has sin got to do with a person's aspirations? I just find the criticism amongst the Singapore crowd over her dressing and dancing as conflict with her status as pastor's wife really uncalled for.

She is a pop singer. Successful or not, really questionable. No doubt abt that. But, does it mean successful celebrities are given special status enabling them a different level of morals vs the wannabes?

Everyone can do what they want to do. But there is a difference. If you got talent, you can almost get away with what you want to portray. Madonna can do anything, wear anything.. and yet, she will be judged as ahead of her time, revolutionary.. But the lesser mortals of us cannot. That is the difference.

If you got no talent, people can see.. What you are doing becomes pathetic..

What clear double standards are you talking about? If you got talent and people think you are trend-setter, whatever you do or wear is fashionable and good taste. If you got no talent, then you know the answer.. Is this the double standard you are talking about? If yes, unfortunately, this is so true in this world.
 
sm, you don't get it. I'm against the up-tight criticisms over her dancing and dressing simply because she is a pastor's wife. Why is there even a double standard and expectation that just because of who she marries, she cannot pursue her music career?

I'm not against the points about her lack of talents and weak attempts. As I said, her talents is no doubt questionable.
 
milo, OK. I agree with you. Her status as pastor's wife is irrelevant as long as she does not make use of her husband's position in the church to help further her career in music - and this is a recurring thing we hear. We are not too sure about this. Let the right people investigate.

Just like the initial days when TT Durai was rumoured to take 1st class flight etc etc.. it was brushed away. It turned out to be tip of the ice-berg.

So it is the same for the "Sun" girl. She just has to be careful..

A church with 30k members, I'm sure there are much more than a few childish folks. Stereo typing is easily formed in labelling the entire group as brainless. Is there really the case? I doubt so.
 
I think we need to look at Sun Ho's music career separately from her religious faith. Regardless of our faith, we still need to earn a living through work and we all have a choice of career. If you think she is not a worthy or inspiring example or leader, simply don't follow her. You can worship in another church or you can even choose another religion.

As for whether the church's funds had gone into supporting her music career, like SM said, the investigation will throw light on this soon.
 
actually i really do believe that most of her music critics are geniune critics - not so because of her husband's religious status and the ongoing investigations...

and because of their extravagant lifestyle, bound to get sarcasms thrown at her lah... like the posts in this thread... as long as not way overboard.

sun ho is not as famous locally as her hubby, so it's only natural for the reference to be made to KH. just as with the 50 million pieces of articles u read of 'less-famous' pple with more-famous relations... the references are often made. so i dun think we should read too much into it.

she sucks, if i am to be objective... she sucks. she looks like a 2nd rate porn actress trying to break it into the industry... reminds me of a lesser version of Bai Ling. when i say this, i say this as i would - with any asian actress trying to break into other markets, same with those breaking into taiwan market.

the only thing i wonder is... how the hell she get pple to even agree to 'grooming' her or sell her albums? can't be talent rite?

completely identify with your feelings about her music. Clearly, none in here are her fans and likewise most of Singapore. But, we cannot denial the heavy local criticism not on her music but suggestions over personal moral views on how she should dress like and perform. That, I am completely against. We may not see that in this forum. But in the other local media blogs... all kinds of crude comments and condemnations made about her. Its pretty childish and up-tight.
 
bro, it's part n parcel of the industry and we're part of the critics. dun really care who her bfren/hubby is... she sucks.

and honestly, if she had wanted to keep her marriage out of the whole publicity, she could have done so. someone obviously revealed who her hubby is... if it turns out to be herself, then u can't really blame anyone...
 
hi bro, yes... u r right its expected in the entertainment industry. But its never about blaming. The childish criticism speaks about the individuals themselves.
 
yeah, especially in spore rite? sure get criticised, the way u see pple post the stupidest thing on stomp and say "how can?"... it's nothing new to locals... but i think we're quite mild liao... jack neo is getting his needed time away from the publicity and nobody's really hanging him.
 
I find her songs n her voice are nt too bad, not everyone of us can sing, dance like her though objectively I find her sux as well.
