Hi Pete, as I love to travel, we will be going on a four-week honeymoon. Your budget mainly depends on the kind of accommodation you are comfortable with, as well as the places you are going for meals.I'm budgeting for my honeymoon and just wondering what would be the average honeymoon budget and travel length that usually people take.
I know this is too general, but at least can give some idea.
Thank you
We planned for a 2 week trip to scandinavian countries, wished we have much more time, but we both cant leave work for too long.
We list down the desired places, those that are kids-friendly places we will go in future. Eg. Hard to bring kids on europe backpacking trip and plus the additional air tix, and will feel guilty to throw them with parents.
Hi Paragon,Anyone went on a three week holiday to Europe or US? Would setting aside $15k in total be enough?
We went to Germany, Austria and Switzerland for 21 days for our honeymoon - free and easy and drove around for most part of the trip. If you or your hubby can drive, and is comfortable with left hand drive/not afraid to try, you should go on a drive trip!! If you intend to rent the car, get it from Germany - the rental prices are super competitive. If you're going budget, you can try airbnb accommodation
Hi paragon, when are you planning your honeymoon? We are thinking of planning about a 3 week honeymoon to US too! But we will be mainly using miles and hotel points to redeem, so that will help us save a lotAnyone went on a three week holiday to Europe or US? Would setting aside $15k in total be enough?
Hi it depends on how many cities u r gg to? 3 to 4 days in each city would be ideal depending on the number of attractions to cover in that city.Is 10 days to Europe enough?
I spent 11 days in Italy covering only Rome, Florence and Venice. If you've shortlisted Italy, I say give it your full 10 days, and you'll probably still feel like it's not enough. Is 10 days to Europe enough?
im currently looking at 3 week honeymoon next june.

You can get around via train(Eurail) on most places, some places may require ferry and some is cheaper and time saving via budget flight. Do take note that some trains require reservation.
Eg. Eurostar(a train to london) is more ex compared to budget flight. The arrival timing of the trains are very accurate.
The reason I drove in the 3rd backpacking trip was transportation not so easy to get, especially during Xmas. But it save us alot of energy and time!
The intracity train stations distance in frankfurt is like every 2 bus stops here. I usually go everywhere by foot.
So, the first thing I got off at a new place was to always look for the information counter for a map. Or u can always download one.
Hotels are usually 1-5 min walk away. Will be if you have to drag your luggage for a long distance and the road there arent that smooth.
Most big cities have special 24hr day pass. starting from the time u board (so is basically a 2 days tix)
Do take note of the day you are travelling, it might be a public holiday or certain day where some attraction are not open.
PS. If you are a flower lover, you should visit keukenhof in Netherlands. But they are only available in March-May yearly.
Hi Bearine! I just booked everything 2 days ago!
sg - london- edin- stockholm-copenhagen-amsterdam-switzerland (4 days)-florence -london -edin -london- sg
Total cost of all air tickets + hotel = 10.5k (his parents sponsoring)
and yes hotel each night ~ $250 SGD in bigger cities.
esp london it was so hard to find a ~ $250 hotel where most of them is $500/night but i managed a $290/night
Total 20 days.

My hb always like to change the location if it is meant for shopping, have to show him something nice in those places instead.
Yes, london is very expensive. I spent quite abit on transport there.
Switzerland train, you are referring to the scenic trains? They have a few. For Jungfrau, I was in interlaken. The trip was booked by the tour agency.
For all my trips I usually book directly. Not sure how to get the tickets via another agent. But they most probably will email you the procedure.
Interlaken OST can be reached by eurail. With valid eurailpass, got discount.
