Hope these help
1. Decide on what kind of Solemnization affair would it be - ie. just a simple signing ceremony follow by a lunch buffet or signing ceremony plus lunch banquet with family members and friends and that's it (without any intention for traditional chinese banquet)
2. Follow this guidelines set by ROM on preparing and filing for solemnization. --- > https://www.rom.gov.sg/reg_info/rom_prep_filing.asp
3. Try to do it earlier if yours is held outside the premises of ROM
4. Decide on if the ceremony is important enough that you would want special deco for the venue or have it photograph/video by a professional, caterers for the food, make up artist for yourself and mom etc. As the solemnization only happen once in the presence of your witnesses.
5, Dress up for the occasion. Marriage IS a sacred union of two individual. Hence, do consider putting some effort in dressing up for both.
6. Prepare your wedding bands. You don't have to go for the expensive ones as chances are it will be scratched while you are doing your daily chores
7. Follow the ROM guideline. If you HTB is a foreigner, please follow the guidelines under Preparing for Registration -- Legal Provision (https://www.rom.gov.sg/reg_info/rom_marriage.asp)

Thank you so much for the your information, I am aware of the procedural preparation of the ROM.
We have in mind to have outdoor ROM or in chalet, but we are figuring how to DIY the ROM setting

1. you can purchase of of the stuff required for the DIY ROM setting from taobao, etsy
2. for ideas, can go to Pinterest or just do a search on Google
3. avoid those mason jars with fairy lights lining the aisle. they look nice, but not practical coz your guests will likely kick them accidentally
4. standby loads of umbrella in case of rain
5. talk to your venue coordinator, they will be able to give you loads of advise
