HairDo for AD

Hi all,

I am thinking of pinning a flower on my hair for my Ad instead of wearing a tiara.. any one has any idea where i can get such flowers?

Any hairdo to recommend for one with a rounder face?

maybe u can request the one who is doing your hand bouquet for a few extra stalks to put on your hair? so it'll b kind of matching. my make-up artiste did that for my PS. or else, i think u can ask your make-up artiste for idea.

Thanks.. that sounds great! How long can the flower last though since is a real one? Did the flower attract any insects like bees or butterflies..? keke :P
 
hi ah xue, my MUA actually used freesias for my morning and night hairdo. i think as long as colour matches ur hand bouquet, its fine. cos if u have tulips or roses for ur hand bouquet, then its odd to have like a huge rose or a tulip on ur head cos its too big. thats wat my MUA advised when i asked her.

the flower lasted long enough for the morning events.. so no worries. and no i didnt get any bees visiting my head either =)

jules the hairdo in ur picture cannot be used for the day.. dun forget there is a veil.. so shld not keep it too complicated..

well, i bought a pearl comb to use on AD
 
hmm diamond, not sure why u say my hairdo CANNOT be used cos
1)it WAS used for my AD hairdo WITH a veil. and it looked quite good in pictures lor. definitely not complicated, it was just a small cluster of flowers at the side near the veil. the photo was taken close up, BEFORE the veil was put on.

2) i showed a picture of the flowers (- just to illustrate what freesias are) and not even a picture of my hairdo that day leh..
 
Hi Jules,thanks for taking the effort to show me the flowers! It looks very sweet. Not too exaggerating also.

I shall discuss with my MUA and see which is most suitable together with my gown n hairdo for the AD.

Thanks gals for all the opinions.
MUA will usually provide the flowers/accessories or do we get them on our own?

no problem! For me, the accessories were provided by the BS, and not the MUA. i also had to get the flowers on my own. So u might need to check with ur MUA lor. basically for flowers, think u need to aim for small buds.. baby rose buds are also very sweet!! find that flowers make the bride look fresher, vs a tiara which might be nicer at night since it glitters during the march in hehe =P
 
Jules, i have the same thought.. to wear the tiara only at night and the flowers in the day.. keke..
 
hehe ahxue, i didnt use tiara in the end but used some crystal accessories provided by the BS. didnt wanna buy a tiara and use it once lor.

usually MUA will advise that u go for a bun up hairdo in the morning, with the flowers- less hot and neater cos u will be moving around. at night, then can let down. ur MUA will be able to advise u on what hairdos suit ur face shape lor, so dont worry too much

keke Jules.. u have been of great help.. set my mind to ease also.. I shall discuss with her.. Right now i have yet to meet her though.. haha.. I am going for my first fitting this coming sunday.

What colour did u pick for ur EG? I am a bit tanned on my arms and the designer suggested me to choose a darker colour.. more dramatic he says.
 
oh dun worry la, am sure ur MUA will be very experienced! they depend on this for a living leh!

my EG was turquoise blue and deep purple. i am quite fair lor.. so my BS suggested these colours.
 
keke Jules, turquoise was one of the colours i picked for my EG.. Initially i wanted dark purple but then he cannot find the exact colour that i wanted

I wanted to be fairer too so now wherever i go, i bring umbrella, like aunty.. apply whitening lotions too.. or if weather is cool i will wear long sleeve.
 
the turquoise gown was a OTR from the BS. the purple one was my own, and my mum put on sequins and crystals on it to decorate it. both were very very simple - i can show u pics if u want lor. tonight ok?

i not THAT fair.. just not tanned hehe. i burn very easily also, and we had outdoor phototaking that afternoon, so i was kinda red over the shoulders that night!! not nice

i had 3 white eustomas on the bottom edge of my left back nape for my PS. thot it was very nice, then go home my parents say why put white flowers in yr hair??? *fainted*

what are eustomas? hehehee.. i was consciously trying to avoid white flowers cos didnt want my dad to say anything also =P choose cream/champagne or even very very pale yellow lor. no one can accuse u of wearing "mourning" flowers then!!

they are these flat tissue like flowers... hiyah... hope when i go choose photos they won't be too obvious. but i see photos plenty of ppl use white flowers leh... maybe I can tell them my eustomas are cream heh.
 
Hi Jules, keke yup yup.. thanks in advance.. i guess have to put sunblock now whenever i go out.. cos even though my arms are tanned, its not a nice colour..it appears dull

I think white flowers are nice.. except that the elders may not like it..

do u girls love flowers? I love roses and hibiscus.. and i collect rose rings, earrings, pendant, hair clips.. abit "hua chi"
 
I would like to know for banquet, we only have 1 hairdo to last through our WG, EG & maybe even Kua outfits. So, which hairstyle will best suit all? Or should we just use the WG hairstyle as the basic cos your WG is the main focus...
 
Actually, I was think of the greek goddess style where the plaids are wrap around...so u r right, that's an olden hairstyle.
So wat's the in thing?
 
I think french twist looks elegant. Maybe can add some pearls or flowers. I think brides should look elegant and youthful. Not childish and youthful. Thin line to cross.

i thot the MUA will make the hairdo for u gals depending on the type of gown u choose... juz wondering y u gals need to thk of ur own hairdo for tht day? :P

Oh, I got them at Far East Flora at upper thomson. My MUA preferred real flowers. These are really small breed of roses, but thorns are very thin & sharp, have to handle it well.
 
midas, ur gown looks very special esp with the roses at ur shoulder. Very sweet and feminine. And u are so slim!

Is your wedding over? I heard that BTBs are supposed to be so stressed that they will lose weight, however it seems that i am the opposite! I gained weight.. Trying my best now to resist the temptations and to shed the extra kilos off..
 
haha... i think i have the same problem with you too, kimi :P Maybe you can go kino and flip at those japanese hairstyle magazines.. might have a few more ideas

During the 3rd course, do u all change ur changstyle???
Or u all remain the same hair thoughout the whole banquet???
If request MUA, to change the hair style during the 3rd course.
what is the additional charge??????

i'm also wondering what to do for my hair for my PS and AD.... i got a magazine from taiwan...hair magazine... and i dun mind sharing it with u gals...
