Guo da li stuff and roasted pig

Hi there,

My SO and me will be paying for the Guo Da Li & wedding cake stuff and the roasted pig for the AD wedding. Thus, I would just to ask if anyone has any recommendation of affordable places to get those things? My budget is a little tight now, I'm okay with just resolving to the cheapest options I can get and also satisfy our parents on the way. Thank you.

What are you getting for GDL? If non-perishable items, perhaps can get from Qoo10 or Taobao? If you want convenience, then those traditional Chinese wedding shops have sets/packages (but not cheap). Some of the items that will only be used once, I'm borrowing from friends. :P

As for wedding cakes, many different vendors - again depends on what are you getting... For traditional 10pc cake sets, can try Gin Thye Cake Maker. I think it should be around $13 per box? Or Swee Heng, around $8. Otherwise, Bengawan Solo cakes are good and convenient! Not too expensive as well. I myself am getting cakes from Choz Confectionary (also cheapest option - $8)

No idea what is the exact list I need for Guo da li yet, depends on what my FIL and my parents want. Hmm... probably need to source for the most aaffordable Chinese wedding shop set. Any rrecommendations? I don't feel safe buying weddig stuffs online when I hhaven't done it before.

Ic. Is choz confectionary good? I might be considering swee heng cakes... theirs seem okay for their price.

I only tried Choz swiss rolls as they don't sell the set individually for sampling, so I only tried the swiss rolls. I haven't tried Swee Heng before, but I decided to go for Choz because it's nearer to my place.

maybe you can try out Bachelorette @ Bukit Timah Shopping Centre Level 2, their website is www.bachelorette.com.sg
They are quite reasonable in pricing as compared to TheChineseWeddingShop & ShuangXile. I saw the exact same Wedding Teaset at TheChineseWeddingShop in Jcube & ShuangXile selling for $60 while Bachelorette is only selling at $38.90! no harm trying I guess if it can save you some money :)
