The taxman is seeking to appoint a liquidator for food supplier Kr*ston Food & Beverages over $1.08 million in alleged unpaid goods and services tax (GST) and income tax.

The interim move was made in the High Court on Thursday and the hearing was adjourned until later this month. Lawyers said a move to appoint a liquidator for a company is generally meant to ensure its assets are preserved, pending an application to wind up the firm.

Kri*ton, a well-known restaurant operator and catering supplier, said last night that it will be defending the case. 'While this is happening, business will continue as usual,' said its spokesman.

Kri*ton is said to have owed some $769,200 in GST and $17,960 in income tax as of October last year, according to court documents filed by the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (Iras).

Hi, thanks for sharing this article.

I went to their showcase at megu and have sign up their package. I have email them to ask for refund too. I believe anyone that saw this news will do the same thing too. They should be prepare for this. Their company might be wind up by taxman in no time. This people are very irresponable. This thing happen in October last year and they still host wedding fair in April this year to collect deposit... They cheat...

Ladies, MEGU is having their wedding show again.. For those who is attending, please be careful.. They are under the same catering arm with Kri*ton. My girlfriend sign up with Kri*ton last April in their wedding show and she can't get her refund back after knowing about the them been wind up by taxman. Infact they replace the deposit to a housewarming party at home under invoice MEGU catering. Beware!

Hi okm1951, are you kidding me? I was planning to go with my htb this Saturday, as I thought this is a new caterer and they talk so much about their celebrity patissier. Thanks for letting us know.
