FEB' 2017 bride!!


25th Feb too! Booked Hilton Singapore! My Friend did recommend for Novotel (will be at BOWS). If not Hotel Fort Canning has nice ballroom, but the food wise reviews don't seem to be v fantastic. Happy hunting!

Hi babe, thx for the recommendation! Initially wanted to book Mbs but heard a lot of negative feedback about the food, I shall see see look look :) my coming company dnd is in Hilton! I will take some photos to show u . Haha

Oh really? Do let me know how the food turn out, so far reviews I heard about Hilton are all good and portions are big (help me confirm that hahaha!). My ballroom selected is Vista Room. I believe your D&D should be their grand ballroom. Enjoy and feel to share any questions if you have!

I'm going BOWS on sat cos fiance will be out of town on sunday. when are u going?

We haven't really started much research on banquet yet. as for bridal, we signed with White Link. What places do you have in mind?

Yah, 25th feb is also one them chosen by master. But i chose 18 because... 8. lol. Hey i was initially considering 26 Nov 2016 or smth too. Haha.

Hehe. So far I've booked my Bridal (preshoot + actual day) and venue! Hey, if you already have an idea what you want, maybe wanna book early? Especially for bridal before they increase their price, usually mid Jan or even earlier. can save some $. haha.

Ivy dont worry too much since deposit alr paid, just work closely w your coordinator and hope she will serve you well. Food standard for such big conventions are always hard to manage, even for service level too. You may be the lucky bride perhaps! :)

Hi all BTBs

Anyone has a good and affordable recommendation of bridal studio package that includes Pre-wedding + Actual Day + Actual day photography & Videography?

We have went to a couple of bridal studios and realised that the actual day photography and videography are excluded. We would like to have a one-stop service hence wondering if there is any u can intro.

I've got mine at bliss bridal creations for 4K, Prewed pHotography, AD video and photography included. Thing is usually such AD is for 10 hours and cannot spilt so is a headache if to plan for a dinner. Need to employ more hours or get another photographer to do those round the table shots ( which I think is super useless cuz no one sees them but traditions are traditions o well)

Thanks for ur reminder! I need to ask on this when signing up if the photography can be split up else the 10hrs really is nothing considering that I need to get ready on actual day around 4+am.

Hey cloveria no problem about that :) but I think usually they don't slow split hours one, want to earn more from u ma. I was still thinking if can just get rid of the round table shots and just gather everyone for a biggggg together photo. Selfie maybe? Hahaha. :x I don't intend to follow those tradition of following timings to do this and that so perhaps I can save some on the early surcharges ( and wake up at 7am to do all the nonsense instead.)

Too bad, both sides parents are quite traditional so we can't escape from this. This will cost additional MUA ($50 per hour for timing before 7am) + MUA 's transportation + now the videography & photography

My date is on 12 Feb.. and it will be a lunch..

I have went viewing at Sheraton, grand copthorne waterfront, hfc, genting hotel jurong, Hilton and hotel Jen tanglin.. and these are my thoughts..

Sheraton was initially my first choice.. cos of their ballroom, food and service.. i also love their waterfall..
unfortunately i couldn't meet their minimum for their grand ballroom (min. 20 tbl x 12 pax). and their smaller room (max 12 tbls) is too small with a pillar and short march in.. I would consider the waterfall for ROM if i have it on a separate day..

GCW has 4 ballrooms.. with different holding capacities each.. the waterfront (22 - 28 tbls) and riverfront (17 - 20 tbls) ballroom are both on the 2nd level and have a shared reception area. the galleria (10-16 tbls) is on the third floor and provide more exclusivity.. I preferred the galleria ballroom but if i want a long march in, the layout will only accomodate 12-14 tbls.. they also have the grand ballroom (which the coordinator described as the "ultimate" ballroom) for 30-65 tbls.. it is really big and beautiful with a garden at the side of the ballroom..

Next I went to hfc.. The building itself is very nice.. I'm looking at the lavender ballroom (min 18 tbls) which also has a shared reception with the legend ballroom. I couldn't meet the minimum tables.. but I'm prepared to do minimal spending and had intended to top up for my ROM to be held in their glass house.. I was getting to the point of paying the deposit. But I changed my mind after further discussion and they refused to accommodate to even the slightest change requests.. their ballroom isn't that fantastic with two pillars right in the middle.. there is also nothing special about their suite.. a friend who coincidentally went to view hfc also don't feel good about their service.. i think they would do better if they have coordinators who have more passion in their job.. -.-

Genting Hotel Jurong.. have a nice ballroom.. but it's on the 1st level.. so you might see aunties uncles who are waiting for the shuttle bus to RWS walking pass your reception area.. but the package is really very attractive.. the last i checked was $708++, min. 15 tbls.. $_$ if you don't mind the sight, it's really quite worthy..

Hilton.. the vista ballroom (min 15) and grand ballroom (min 25) has a shared reception.. they have another ballroom panorama (min 15) on the 24th level which offer some view around the area and provide natural daylight.. it is the only ballroom at the level, so the reception is exclusive but the it is pretty small.. the coordinator is really friendly, and i enjoy talking to them.. this is my no. 1 choice at the moment.. just try not to think of what happened around 5 or 6 years back.. :x

Lastly, hotel jen tanglin.. they have 3 ballrooms.. both the smaller ballroom (Temasek and Malacca/Penang) has exactly the same layout (min. 15 tbls).. The temasek ballroom is behind an escalator which i find extremely weird.. the reception area looks dark and felt claustrophobic.. the suite they proposed is the club room (for two nights) which i don't really fancy.. i was initially attracted because of their price which include freeflow beer and wine.. but i was told that they are adjusting the price to same as hilton hence i ended up choosing hilton as i preferred hilton's perks.

had signed off my bridal package which includes:
1. ROM gowns (which i negotiated for this ended up not utilizing as i'm doing it on my AD)
2. pre-wedding gowns & shoot
3. AD gowns & photography
4. 3 make up (incl. trials)
choosing my pre-wedding shoot gown coming Mon (18 Jan) and doing my shoot in Apr on our dating anniversary as we wanted to do something interesting on our last dating anniversary instead of the usual trip every year :)

Sure, my coordinator is June, v solid experience and loyalty with Hilton (more than 10 years) and so far her response is always prompt. Shall see how things move ahead in months to come then I comment again :)

I'm also seeing peony jade but the one @ keppel Bay! From what the coordinator say she's very confident with their food. Have you tried food from them before? :)

Hi babe, we've already decided on the venue for our wedding dinner banquet, yes, the rom will be before the banquet :) hope u secure ur venue fast as it is quite a popular date :)

Good choice haha..Nope but I believe peony jade food will be really nice.. :) U mentioned that you have gone to the BOWS last week..Have you signed any bridal package already? I am currently looking for one and don't know which to go for..

Yes I've signed, with bliss bridal creations. Not sure if they're good cuz frankly I can't really find online on their reviews. But I think it was a good deal cuz it's about 4k with PW photos and AD photo and videography. Praying hard it'll look decent...! I think bridal package will really depends. Are you intending to go overseas for the pictures or do it in SG? :)

Yup. 25 Oct 2016 is the first day for you to book your date. If you're doing it at ROM, fastest fingers first to get your slot. If not, you can wait latest till 3 weeks before 25 feb 17.
