Hi to all those interested in WDW, Orlando, FL.

I am now studying in florida, about 2 hrs drive from Orlando. Orlando is really the city of Theme Parks. Have been to Sea W/Universal/IOA and WDW last Dec and have lots of fun...

I would recommend the following websites with tons of information ...

http://www.allearsnet.com/
http://www.mousesavers.com/

for disney cruise line ...

Hope those info helps ...

Also heard good reviews about Discovery Cove, but have not been there yet...

Hi,

I need help on florida. Planning to spend a few days there at late May, but running out of ideas where to go. Other than theme parks, any other recommended places to see? I've been to LA disneyland, universal studio in last Dec. Is it worth to visit WDW again so soon? There are so many beaches in Florida. Besides Miami South beach, any other good beach that has crystal-clear water and drivable to-and-fro from Orlando?

Thanks in advance!

I have been to LA Disneyland and WDW b4. WDW is much much much more bigger than LA Disneyland. Check it out at www.disneyworld.com
WDW consists of 6 theme parks.
Don't miss Spectromagic and Wishes fireworks @ Magic Kingdom! =)

agree that WDW is really really big... maybe u can try other parks within WDW like Epot and Animal kingdom.

For beaches drivable to-from Orlando, u can consider Daytona Beach, miles and miles of beach facing altantic ocean, but u wont see crystal clear water bcos of all the waves... if u want that, take a drive (about 6 hrs from Orlando) down to Key West...

the other recommendation near Orlando is Kennedy Space centre, they are opening a new attraction soon. if u r lucky, u can catch a live space shuuter launch if schedules meet... checkout http://www.nasa.gov/missions/highlights/schedule.html http://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/visitKSC/index.asp

hi muzicgal & housebear,

can share with me what is nice about Epcot and Animal Kingdom? Besides Orlando, is there any other part of Florida to spend a 4-day vacation?

Any idea if clearwater beach has clear water?

thx!

Hi snowy,

if u going in may.. they have flowers festival @ Epcot. You do abit of searching for epcot flowers festival, you will be able to see some pictures.

as for animal kingdom, i think half a day is enough, some rides are really fun!

hi muzicgal,

Thx for yr info. Can sense from your words that you really love WDW a lot! I have booked my Florida vacation. Now looking forward to the great beaches and WDW in May.

Hi muzicgal,

I have booked WDW All star's movie resort. Will be staying there 3 days. Only opt for 2 days park hopper coz only wan to see epcot and animal Kingdom. I add park hopper so that i need not restrict myself to these 2 parks in case both run out of things for me to see. I opt out of dining plan as well, i think it's crazy abt making 3-6 mths advance reservation for the table service. I knew how terrible when come to eating in DL. The queue was horribly long. But then I refuse to be tied down by the dining plan, since i expect to be free and easy. Why pay so much $ and yet subject to the stress working out to use all those dining credits. I guess, the dining plan dont suit me.

Also didnt wan to spend my entire vacation on WDW since i just been to LA's DL (similar to Magical Kingdom) in last Dec. I plan to stay at the beach resort at Tampa Bay, and drive around to know more about the state, other than theme parks. I think shopping in Orlando should be fantastic too. Lots of factory outlet there.

Currently, i'm still looking out for one good beach resort. I have not settled for one with unblocking Gulf view yet at reasonable rate. Many are very expensive (more ex than WDW's valued resort), considering they're only small family own resort, and they dont have good cancellation policy like hotel. If you've any to recommend me, do let me know. I'm looking at Clearwater/ St. Petersburg.

Hi snowy,

Magic Kingdom is a nice place, don't miss The Wishes Fireworks @ 10pm and Spectromagic @ 9pm. I add on the dining plan, because eating at Disneyworld is really very expensive, so with the dining plan, it's turn out very worth it. Thumb up for Chef Mickey restaurant at Disney's Contemporary Resort!!! I went to Chef Mickey before last year, I will be going there again next week, it is really nice!

I have been to DL @ Anaheim too, it's different from WDW's Magic Kingdom.

Oh yeah!! factory outlets!! hhahahaa... must print all those discount cards and coupons.

Hi Muzicgal,

Do you mind sharing your planned itinerary for your 1st and 2nd trip with me? As well as the costing for the 2 trips? I'm thinking of going WDW for my hunnymoon with hb

Thanks aloot!

hi muzicgal, can you share with me your itinerary too? i'll be going down in oct/nov for honeymoon as my husband is going orlando for a conference. tagging along to enjoy.

thanks in advance - [email protected]

thanks@!

Hi muzicgal, I'm a theme park lover too! I've insisted that our honeymoon must be at no other place apart from Orlando. It's great to find someone so passionate abt theme parks too!

Can you pls share with me your itinerary? My email [email protected].

Thanks very much!

i spent 2 weeks in Florida. 1st week at Naples (the east shore), very quaint and pretty town. would love to stay there. apparently, elton john stays there too.

2nd week, travel to west shore. covered Miami, Key West, Orlando.

Miami - when you are there n if you are a CRAB-lover (like me & my hubby), check out Joe's Stonecrab. They served only the claws! Paid less than usd60 for crab claws, lobster, oyster and lobster bisque! super value-for-money!
oh, if you wanna dine in the restaurant, please dress up in little black dress or gown. Beach-goers aren't allowed into it. People like Donald Trump's daughter (Ivanka) dines there!! Well, for dress-downers, look for the take-away counter next door. There are decent seatings for a wonderful meal!

i wld go back there again!

Orlando - basically, i plonked in WDW for all 5 days I was at Orlando. The whole place is so big it spans 2 highway exit points.

I stayed at Coronado Spring resort within the park compound to be totally soak in the disney atmosphere! Wanted to book a cheaper Disney Value Resort Hotel but they are really popular cuz of the affordable price. So, book way in advance if you can.

Spent 1 day in each of the 4 theme parks and returned to Magic Kingdom on the 5th day.

To know the best itinerary around these 4 parks, check out which has the Late Park Hours which allow only its hotel guest to board rides or enter performances theater after official closing time. Of course, visit the park with late closing hours on that day lah!
Din't take up Park Hopper as there is no time to hop between parks!! Imagine dashing into 1 park, queue like mad, rush out, take trolley ride to carpark, find your car (trust me, till you see the number of cars, finding it is a challenge!), drive, navigate to the next park, find a parking slot (which by then will be very very far away), take trolley ride to 2nd park entrance, then queue or watch performances. How much precious time is wasted this way. So, i suggest stay focus on one park in one day! Do everything, no regrets cuz the next time you are back will be years later.

Food-wise: no dining plan for me. don't wanna be restricted to what i can eat or must eat within that category.
For character-dining, please book WAY in advance. Cinderella's Royal Table in Magic Kingdom buffet cost what sgd 100+ per person and it is booked till 6months later! haha, if i book that day, i can only dine there in 6 months' time! sigh!

Foodie-check out: (1) Liberty Tavern in Magic Kingdom. there is this cod fish! woo!!
(2) Rainforest cafe at Animal Kingdom! it is for the experience! If you wanna eat in the middle of the nite, there is always eatery outlet just outside the entire park. Ask any of the guest relations and they will direct you.

cheers and have fun!

We had a fabulous time at Walt Disney World last year. Stayed at Disneys All Star Music Resort. Nice, and more than adequate. Loved the Christmas decorations! Made it feel so festive! Spent 11 days exploring the 4 different Disney theme parks and shopped at the outlet mall as well. Truly a magical experience. Money well-spent!

check it out www.disneycruise.com

i love it!! i went to the cruise 2 times and wdw 3 times!

wdw - april 2006, april 2007 and november 2008
disneycruise - april 2007 and november 2008

book through authorised agent its cheaper and surprises. =)

anyone can guide me? Is Dec a good time to go Disney? i'm planning my HM at WDW as my husband love disney!! Natas Fair is coming, do you think they will have packages to go? If not how to go abt F&E? I am thinking of travelling from 19 Dec 09 to 3 Jan 10, 15 days.

Hi I am also thinking of going to Florida in December... not sure if it is a good time to go though... we are still deciding on the various options but i had always wanbted to go to Florida and visit all the theme parks..

but i search online, dec is a bad time to go florida as it will be very pack, n expensive during peak period. it says best time to go when all students are still in school is april/may. so perhaps i will change my dates to early april.

Hi guys, my fiance & I are totally thinking of disney world for our honeymoon too! Imagine my excitement at coming across this thread =) My wedding's not til next Oct, but I'm hoping to so some research now, to plan & budget in adv. Anyone able/willing to share a more recent F&E itinery & cost of a trip there? Kindly email to ([email protected]).

Thinking of Disneyworld & ard Orlando. Understd that Oct is not a crowded season for them. Is driving a must btw?

Early dec yes, very good time to go. mid dec onwards, try to avoid due to holiday crowd.

Driving is not a must but it makes life much easier. Cant do w/o car in america :p

Hi! Not sure if anyone still visits this thread. But me and my HTB is planning a trip to florida, Orlando and we really wanted to visit Harry Potter Theme park as well as Disney World. Would be glad if someone can send me their itinerary for their eastern USA trip. TIA!

Hi just to share.. My fiancee and I went to WDW & Universal Studios last early Nov. The wind was cool but the sun was really hot, during night fall, you will need a good warm coat. So my advise will be wear jeans / leggings and bring along your sunscreen, shades and coat. Spent two days in each theme park. 2 days ain't enough for WDW, didnt even cover Animal Kingdom and Epcot. So I guess at least 3 days at WDW and 1 day Universal Studios (only HP is worth while). Most of the hotels/motels there provide free shuttle bus, there is also the I-Drive shuttle. I stayed at Country Inn & Suites near Orlando Universal. Also please visit the Cheesecake factory at the mall at millenia for darn good cheesecake. =) The factory outlets there are pretty decent too. Typing this make me miss the place... Have fun ya! https://sg.hotels.com/customer_care...section=COMPLETED&confirmationId=118186024969
