Concealer? Good recommendation, anyone?

Hi all,

I'm new to this thread too. I have rather fair and sensitive skin with occasional outbreaks. My face always feels clogged and turns red easily too esp. when exposed to extreme temperature. I do not have the habit of going to beauty salon for facial and have no experience at all regarding makeup. But I am looking for something to cover my blemishes (small pimples, scar and reddness) on the face. Need recommendations on what products to use and guidance on how to apply too. Please help. Thanks in advance.

I too have sensitive skin and occasional outbreaks. I have seen doctors and been advised not to apply cosmetics or anything and apply his gels daily.

But, however i still try to use concealer to cover my scars and zits cos i really dont dare to face people with my bare skin.

I use Kiehls' concealing stick (come in beige only). cos its light weight and doesnt aggravate the pimples. although not good coverage, but at least provide some coverage. It is especially for blemish. I just apply the concealer and nothing else. Only kiehl's outlet available is at Scotts Orchard level 1.

if you want conceal the redness, can try green color concealer. Makeup ForEver at Stamford hse has the palette for it. Its concealer is good for coverage, but not very good for the pimples, seems like will worse my pimples.

No doubt MAC concealer is the best that I've used so far. Estee Lauder is also good. But not much coverage. MAC concealer is able to conceal even the darkest eye ring that I have. Though I don't use the rest of their make up product, cos MAC foundation and its 2-way cake cause an outbreak for me.

does MAC concealer works for pimples n blemishes then??

Previously was usin prescriptive but nw they r no longer available in sg so muz find another brand to use

hi jan,

I've found this product named "Ice-cream Concealer" by BEAUTY TECH very useful and good coverage. Colour tone B01 to B05 for green (cover redness), yellow and 3 different tone of beige, cost around SGD39 from Sasa Cosmetics. I'm using B03 Light Beige as a daily coverage as I have fair complexion. For dinner occasion, I mixed B01 with B05.

Try Covermark!
My MUA introduced me to use the concelear.
Its thick and smooth. So don't have to apply so much. And its cheap!
Even the darkest eye bag..can cover!

Agree with Janice. Beauty Tech concealer is fantastic! I am into my second pot already and the first one lasted me ONE year! Texture is so smooth and soft, coverage is very good. Defintely worth paying $39. But remember to close the lid tight after use, if not the texture will turn a bit dry, which happens to mine now sob..sob..

tempted to try MAC after reading this thread.... I'm using maybelline which has served me well for many yrs... cant do without concealer!

hi all,

juz wanna update that after reading so many posts on MAC concealer.. i finally went to buy yest n i can said that it's really the best concealer that i used ... even better then my old bobbi brown one and its much cheaper .. i bought the tube one costing $27 cos the SA was saying that the tub one abit trying then will enhance my undereyes lines .. but she was saying the tub one cover better then the tube one ...but for me the tube one already very good already..juz wanna share this good thing with u all

Hi there,

I'm new here... wanted to find a concealer for my dark eye rings (not very dark just visible) and scar on my nose. Wanted to buy MAC after reading this thread but my friend told me its quite oily. MAC users, is it oily?

Or any other good recommendation?

halo...

ended up buying MAC. I bought the liquid one cos worried the cream/ stick might be too oily. But didn't find the coverage that good.

i tried the MAC concealer (tude), it really works well and lighten my under eye, but when i apply my kose foundation using sponge on it, i find that after the end of the day, it look a bit "crack" with fine lines below eyes, dont know how to describe it. You know when you laugh or smile, you will have lines under the eyes..., this make it more obvious..

Anyone had this experience?..

MAC concealer doesn't work for me, it's too drying for my undereye areas. End up I threw it away as it had sat around for 2years. My skin is combination skin.

Any creamy concealer for covering dark eye circles to recommend?

Anyone has any idea whether NSC pharmacy is selling concealers or not? I feel like asking my doc to recommend one for me but dunno appropriate or not leh?

I am using a concealer from my beautican which i find is quite good. It acts as a concealer as when as a sunscreen protector. No very expensive and it lasted more than 6 months.

I use Lift Concealer from Makeup Forever to lift puffy bags. Twin Rose concealer by @Nature for hydration & cover dark circles, lavender concealer by @Nature to conceal & lighten also.

i've been using MAC studio finish spf 35 concealer for 2yrs. Its good at concealing blemishes, non-fragrance and non-acnegenic. Even my colleagues swear by it! Cos it covers very well. However, its kinda dry for undereyes, thus I use MAC Select moisturecover concealer for eye area.

Maybeline liquid conceler stays really well even in the sun , doesnt drop off with my powder foundation too.

Care to check out eyecreamreviews.com for products that acts as concealer and eye cream as one...its a good cut on your expenses...I recommend BASQNYC Cucumber Tea Eye gel

try to use Covergirl TRU Conceal, or if i want just a natural look,
i use MoistureShade Wet/Dry pressed powder because it acts as a concealer, foundation and a powder in one and it's from Nu Skin..

It looks great!

This might come as a huge surprise! I have tried loads of concealers over the years and so far the best I have found is from Tesco!!!! Better than the high end ones I've bought - the Barbara Daly make up range is very good but only available from the largest stores.
The little square pots of concealer (it is cream!) come in 3 shades and is reasonably priced. It gives superb coverage and does not turn cakey.
I use powder over it and it lasts all day.

The best under eye concealer ladies are the MAC Select Moisture Cover because this covers dark circles and it wont sit on the fine lines under your eyes. I normally use a Studio fix powder in NC40 but I use the NC20 for the concealer its a good colour to lighten those dark circles. Another trick you can is dust some yellow lose powder or some MAC Prep+Prime tranparent finishing powder to set the concealer, the prep+prime powder is white and it deflects dark shadows.

Hope this helps

I use Estee Lauder Double Wear. It's quite nice and It doesn't make my lines visible

but I find that it's light and might not be enough for people with very dark circle, so I have to put 2 layers.
I have tried so many other concealer before but they always sit on my fine lines
