China reunification with Taiwan

China has reunited with Hong Kong (1997) and Macau (1999) after 150 yrs and 400 yrs of separation. Currently is one country, two systems.

Do u think Taiwan will eventually return to Chinese rule ? or maybe not in our lifetime....

Please share your views.
 


dun mind me, but going by the thread and topics u've been starting... i'm sorta having the idea that u're using the opinions collected for some thesis or survey work...
 
Hopefully not!!

Currently Taiwan is still v "Taiwan" as it's not infested by foreigners and u still get served mainly by Taiwanese.

They are living well in adequate housings and affordable transport. My neighbours here owned 2-3 apartments comfortably.

I hope it wont become another SG and HK!!!
 
shld tis be in the matter of hearts thread? anyway, technically both are china. one of republic of china, another one people's republic of china. just like waiting for hougang-aljunied reunification with rest of singapore...
 
Taiwan will eventually reunited with China without firing a single bullet. This is tide of history and no one can ever resist it. Taiwan are already under the infuence sphere of China and is ever becoming more reliance to China interms of trade and economy growth. Millions of Taiwanese are now flowing or working in China and billions of Taiwanses investment are going to China. China's power and influence is growing stronger day by day and no one even USA will risk going to war with China over Taiwan. China leadership is confident that Taiwan will eventually reunit with them in another 20, 30 years naturally if they continue current peaceful development. Regardless of the past or now, Taiwan will always be part of China, this is a fact of history.
 
Anyway, Hougang-Aljunied is a different thing althogether...they even need to apply for permit to plant a tree in their area....one more thing...I think Hougang will still be in the opposition hand after the by-election...reunification with the rest of sg will take some time but I hope not another 101 years.......

the title is fundamentally wrong, hkong and macau and taiwan should be REUNITED with China, not the other way around.

erm, hougang-aljunied has always been united with the rest of spore... i dun see them having different passports, language nor lifestyle... not even relevant. and in political context, it shows a lack of respect towards the voting rights of the pple who have already voted. it's not like we the pple treat the constituents any differently or Bar them from orchard or marina bay... any segregation of sorts is Not our doing. they pay their taxes, serve national service and are all over the civil service, gov and contributing sectors...
 
same reason that burger king's and starbuck aren't always dominated by pple who are there to eat but study...

why ask such questions?
 
I will live in the country that for sure nothing like China. Communist Control Bureaucratic freak. do nothing except their Elites.

while you have money for sure you want to live in china, but if you are working class, enjoy the agony and unfairness.

Have time ? don't always reading on the net or newspaper. go and talk to the people ACTUALLY living there. Even China does not have facebook and Youtube.

Not because your Singaporean Gov would love to stick into China Gov Armpit because they have a lot of money. well, Money is everything in your world. no offense. peace out.
