Hi Sue-anne,

Hi bride,

Yes, do keep me informed of the outcome. Thanks. But, like I said, I have received pretty good review from some who have dine there before. It's more a business social club. H/w, it's always good to be double sure. Hope they are as good as Club Chinois and Humble House.

We have actually met up with Elaine for the 1st meeting, and then Zoe for the 2nd. Was told we can get in touch with both.

So, when is your big day?

Hi bride,

Thanks for the feedback, now I'm even more confident in our choice.

Well, my wedding is going to be next yr 25th Nov. Still far away right. Yah, have to settle this cause am not staying in S'pore, so it makes it hard for us to make arrangement for the wedding. Therefore, each time we come back, we'll get something done. At least, we don't have to rush through everything.

We've confirmed about 28 to 30 tables (that's the max they can go, no choice). We intend to have all our relatives sitted on 52nd flr (round table setting) and close friends on the 53rd, whereby we'll arrange for long table setting for them instead.

They showed us the wedding card, I'm fine with it. Just kapo, which BS have you signed up with? Haven't got that done yet. Am doing some research now.

Thanks.

Hi Sue-anne,
You are working overseas?

Wow, 28-30 tables...thats's alot. 25th Nov 06 is a Sat is it? Why don't hold it on Sun? 10% disount on Sun for 20 tables and above. I will be holding my reception on the upper floor

I have signed up with Divine but made a CS with Ted Collection. Any BS in your mind at the moment?

Hi bride,

My hubby is working in Ireland.

Is 28-30 tables alot? I mean, we hve to strike out alot of names frm our guest list (passed down frm our siblings) to accomodate the numbers. As for friends, we hve also to invite selectively due to space constraint. If you hve seen the upper floor, it can only take about 40pax. Anyway, whatever it is, still love the place. hee...

Didn't know that they hve a 10% disc for Sun, we only pick the date randomly and the reason for Sat is that everyone is not working on the day and day after. Think will talk to hubby abt it.

Divine & Ted? Hven't really seen their gowns, how is it like, any pics to show me??

Hve visited The wedding present and bridal veil (like a few gowns frm them, esp those with really nice grand cathedral train) during our last trip back. Currently hve in mind Sihouette, read alot of good comments about them. Wld love to meet up with them personally. I actually hve in mind what sort of wedding gown I want. Hope it's easier.

Hi,

Is anyone able to advice if its possible to take pictures in China Club with out placing a banquet there? i.e Can I go there for lunch/dinner and take some pics?

Hi Binkies,

What I understand is dining at China Club is exclusively for members only. However, this is exception for wedding banquet. As for just photo shoot without the banquet, I really doubt they will entertain. But, don't take my word for it, you may want to give them a ring to confirm it.

Hi girl,

You sure of the comments, we have alrdy signed up with them and paid $5k deposite.

But my hubby has dine there before and he did not have those comments abt them that's why we confirmed with them....

Hi girl,

I guess it's okay, maybe will find out more details if I happen to meet up with my friend whose husband frequent the restaurant quite often. Anyway, my wedding is still far away.... Thanks

my brudder held his wedding at China Club in 05. the food is nice! I like it. The ambience also nice. very chinese style.

you do not nid to be a member to hold ur wedding there becos my brudder n his wife aint members.

their pkg was ard 1k per table. nt sure wads the actual price. hmmm.

the lift changing part a bit confusing. some pple got lost. the best thing to do if you're gonna hold a wedding there is to put like a board of instructions at the lobby if possible or get ur frns to be dwnstairs when guests arrive... also mus let the info counter and security pple knw you're holding the wedding becos the security guy at the counter didnt knw there was a wedding goin on -_-"

hi all

can anyone who held wedding at CC share their wedding dinner programme with e. i have already confirmed with them, having my dinner there this dec. ITS a wonderful place.!

Hi porsche, I sought a quote from them last year. This will probably be helpful, but do take a look at their website as well. I liaised with Elaine then.

Minimum requirement of 80persons (Mondays – Saturdays).
Minimum requirement of 200persons (Sundays and Public Holidays).

I admit it's a beautiful place with a tempting menu but out of my budget, especially since it's only a club and restaurant.

Hi,
if i am not wrong, China Club may be a bit short staffed 'cos Zoe has left. Their website has got yr 2008 wedding packages, but i understand prices may be increasing later part of the yr. Do sign up early if you are keen

Hi Piggybear,

is the coordinator at CC easy to negotiate?
any advice on the extent of freebie we can ask for?

meeting them on sat...many thanks.

Hi Porsche, i am not really in a good position to advise you 'cos i signed up with Zoe. She's fantastic, very accomodating and friendly. However, she has since left CC. I havent liased with Sammy (f&b mgr) as yet. I didnt manage to get much freebie from Zoe either. You can try asking for more cards and negotiate on the price of wine corkage. Basically, Zoe didnt urge us to pay deposit at all. We booked our date for approx 2 months before we paid up the deposit. If your prefered date isnt taken, you can defer the payment. But i understand that they plan to increase banquet prices later the year. So you got to pay up before then to lock in the cheaper banquet price. Hope this helps.

Hi piggy..

Can you share with me what you manage to get as a package from them? What is the max capacity?

Hi piggybear,

I have contacted china club previously and understood that a member's authorization is required to host the wedding banquet there.

Is this still valide? I am interested to have my wedding dinner this dec there. Appreciate you advise.

Hi All,

I'm interested in hosting my wedding dinner @ the china club. I called to enquire and they said we have to get a member authorization or use uob infinity to pay. Can anyone please advise me how to go about it since some of you mentioned that you need not be a member.

thanks!

I have just checked with CC regarding my solemnisation dinner. Initially the coordinator told me need CC member or UOB infinity card. But after that she told me can make exception for me.

But CC has some hidden costs which made me decide against it eventually. Initially I was tinking of booking the upper floor and I asked her if I can play my own music.
She actually charged me $300++ for "pulling the wires". I was quite turned off and she returned to say reduced to $150++. Only the solemnisation table is decorated and in the simplest way you can imagine. guest tables flower centrepiece not included. plus some other stuff that I can't even bother remembering.

Just sharing my personal experience and thoughts.
