Hi everyone.

Currently, I am sourcing for my photo montage and am quite troubled with the exorbitant prices that RIPS, MPS and COMPASS are charging (esp. RIPS which charges per montage).

Am quite worried that if I use royalty free music, it might not be accepted by the hotel.

Any tips?

How much are they charging you? I know a friend who does montage at a reason price. PM me if u are interested

Hi Faith, thank you for your offer. Actually, its not about the photo montage maker's rates. Most of the photo montage makers do not include license for usage of music and we have to separately pay for the broadcasting license with RIPS/COMPASS/MPS if we want to use licensed songs (e.g. most of the pop songs) in our montage. RIPS (representing record industry) charges $90 for usage of up to 5 songs per montage while COMPASS (representing composers) charges $100.

Meaning that if we were to include any licensed songs into our montage, it will cost $190 just for usage of songs (which costs more than the montage itself). Hence, thinking of whether it would be better if we use royalty free music instead.
