hear the ngiiiunnnngg....ngggiiunnnn......every few second then that's it !

we never even see the car just a shadow !

the race is more exciting if there is an accident !

haha, u could have sit at home tune in to channel 5... can even see the cars running thru the whole track... even better than grand stand tics...

i can even hear the sound frm Bugis Junction, my fren who got the $38 ticket say he wans to exp the "atmosphere" oh ya, the crowd, the noise the smell and the smoke but no sight of the cars ...

If you stay on the sitting platform, you probably see nothing.

To get to see the cars, you need to move around. At the sharp corners, that's why the drivers need to slow down. You will get good shots from there.

Took enough clips to fill up my SD memory cards. :p Its definitely exciting to witness the 1st ever night race.

Another tip for anyone going. Bring your own food and drinks. Prawn mee going for $8, soft drink for $3.

Dont know why you people bother responding to that idiot...

The F1 havent even started yet and he's complaining...of what???
It's like going to a football stadium 3 hours before kick-off and complains about the game being boring when there's no players on the pitch...

Moron...

powderfula,

oh...sorry....i never watch F1 before years back in TV !

oh i forgot, F1 only happend in singapore for THE FIRST TIME in the history ! so no one watch F1 before.

haiya...i am so outdated !

hahahah......think before you write !

Is it just me or does anyone gets what this idiot is trying to say?

Or are you too ashamed to use back your old nick, alexis?

Well.. if u see it on tv you will be able to see more thing happen.. anyway powerfula.. the race actually started on friday.. people with the ticket will be able to attend since friday.. i think you are just one of the people who are not into F1...

Yappie...dont be a smart alex can?

YES! I KNOW THE F1 event (note that I use EVENT, not RACE!) starts on Friday!
The point I am bringing across to that idiot who starts this thread is that IT'S NOT A ACTUAL RACE, Friday is just a practise run! A PRACTISE RUN!!! Not even qualifying...A PRACTISE RUN!!!
So why is he complaining that the F1 race is boring when the ACTUAL RACE starts on Sunday!

Do you get my point?

And dont assume I'm not into F1 race...
I started attending F1 races years ago even before Lewis Hamilton passes his O Levels...

hmm...i never mention F1 Race in SINGAPORE !

Did I mention the word in Singapore ? where ?

If i do not mention the specific time it means it will be in General ! no ?

hi teacher, should i teach you better english ? the word SINGAPORE come out from your imagination ?

by the way,

who alexis ? haiya...i did not know you are a fan of him ? or her ?

by the way, poderfula, are you gay ? you sound sooo gay....

lex, don't be an arse hole lah..

Your first post didn't mention. but 2nd post did

"oh i forgot, F1 only happend in singapore for THE FIRST TIME in the history ! so no one watch F1 before. "

So don't try to wriggle your way out here.

And by the way, your ENGLISH is atrocious

See lah...Algae is algae...not really that smart still wanna come out and humiliate himself...

still talking nonsense non-stop...despite changing his nick...
I mean what kind of pathetic attempt at making a logical arguement is that? Seriously leh...my 3 yr old niece can argue better than you...You come out with any comments and people immediately slams you back...

Eh, try harder can...calling me a gay when I'm not (and other people here knows) isn't gonna bait me...you just makes you look more and more stupid in other people's eyes...

On the other hand, calling you an algae and with you proving yourself so makes my day...

As for not being alexis...Do you dare to swear by your balls that you're not him?

oh, wait...don't bother...you don't have any...brains too...

What a lamer...

the race was pretty exciting...

notably, the perfect overtaking (on a street circuit) by Hamilton and Rosberg...

the highlight has gotta be, massa drove off with the fuel hose and almost crash into an approaching racing car...

the backdrop was fanstastic... overall, 9/10.

yoz milo bro...

understand you were there for the practise.... the actual race as well? Quite siong to move ard along with the crowd, no?

prefer to watch on TV for actual race whereby i could check on the timings and catch the drama.

yah... completely agree. the race is good. Not the usual F1 race on ESPN.
Partially because it is happening downtown, but also the amount of drama, action in over-taking, Pit stop diseaster by Ferrari team and almost similar incident with another team etc. Its simply fantastic! The world have been trilled by this race. It definitely is going to remain in the memories of many.

Anyway ... "the race is more exciting if there is an accident !"
There have been incidents on everyday of the trials and qualifying too. e.g. India team clashing against head on the concrete on Friday and Toyota knocking its bumper off minutes remaining on the last lap of the final practise of the day.

And on Sat, Alonso's engine failure. So, I really don't know where have lex been. Maybe he is one of those creeping in from the banners trying to catch a free show.

Vios,,, I was there for the practise only. Had free tix for Friday only. But anyway, for the race, its surely more exciting watching from television. Best of all, its telecast in both ESPN and Channel 5. Basically switching between the 2, you can avoid almost all commercials and useless interviews during the race itself.

yeah... i switched between channels as well. as usual, espn star slotted in numerous commercial breaks during raceday... luckily, there's channel 5. But, i certainly prefer steve slater's commentary.

for massa, really feel sorry for him manz. he had the green light to move on whilst still re-fueling as the replays confirmed it....
kind of comical to see the crew running down the length of the pit lane... heh heh.

quite a number of overtaking..

kimi did overtake as well.. textbook overtaking - was behind in the slip-stream and then move to the left to overtake.

Even the Japanese Kasuki Nakajima did overtaking move.

well... its a team effort. When a driver wins, its a victory for the entire team.

See in contrast with Alonso's final pitstop. It was so perfect and he managed to retain his lead thr it. I think that was one of the major winning point too. After all, even though the accident helped him, he was like 5th spot still. It was more than luck for him to win the race.

He had shown throughout the practice that he was the most consistent on the sgp circuit. Its really a sad ending for Ferrari failing to get any points. Before last night, Masa was only 1 point away. If he had won, he would be in very good position for the world #1 championship.

yah lor...agreed that Massa was really unfortunate...He had a great start and should have a good chance of winning if not for the botched pit stop...Feel so sorry for that guy...
It's not his fault really...

Alonso's win also have to do with a huge dose of luck! With his pit stop done right before the accident from his team mate...what can I say...you need that in life sometimes...

I also quite bang balls I didn't have to guts to bet on him after Sat qualifying...15th on the grid...$18 pay out!!! Instead I bought Kimi to finish on podium and look what that guy do...crash out with 4 laps to go...feel like crying...

All in all, I also find that it's a great and exciting debute for Singapore F1 with the ususal mix of crashes, great driving and pit stop drama...plus the georgeous backdrop...I would rate it a 9/10 as well...Now I'm seriously considering going next year...been a armchair spectator for a couple of years liao...

As for Algae Alexis...well...I'm sure he must have turned out at Singapore Turf Club on Sunday instead and complains about only having horses instead of F1 cars racing...what a dickhead...

Whole and all, the race itself was good. Even an amatuer like me felt the rush of adrenaline watching at home. I maintain my statement on the race queens being merely extras clapping and jamming up the corridor with occassional "WOO~ WOO~~" after the race was over.

Ferrari just suay last night. Huan tio tai shui.

milo,

Yes alonso did drive an almost perfect race.. but without the accident.. he couldn't possible win.

He was fifth but all above him either have penalty or retired ..

The key thing for him was that he pit-stop just before his team-mate crashed - perfect timing..

Well you can say it is teamwork for renault cos if his team-mate did not crash, he won't be champion however perfect he can be driving

But luck also an important factor in deciding the race... check out force india... suay leh... rammed onto the wall just to dodge.

true true... Alonso's final perfect pitstop just got him ahead of Rosberg and Hamilton.

he was gifted luck owing to the first safety car, but agree, he was consistent throughout the wkend lest the unfortunate engine failure (on sat)....

gotta to add that it was really a roller-coaster ride for both Renault and Ferrari.

Haha...not that bad lah...
2 is too low lah...I would say 4/10... :P

Like that we really making the thread starter feel damn stupid leh (not that it's hard!)...

He said F1 race boring...we gave it 9/10
He said Race Queen beautiful...you gave 2/10

So where does that leave him to participate in the thread that he started? Make him look silly only...

kind of weird that a non-F1 fan created this thread... and we inputted our excitements into it.

Boring race with beautiful race queens?
TOTALLY OPPOSITE FOR ME! whahahahha....

Yeah... u mean the singtel grid girls? *shake head* Next time import better quality ones. At least Akane Soma standard lol...

I heard the beautiful ones are the Free Lance working ladies entertaining the rich fans and the F1 team during the night..

i think algae really looked silly with his first post already, and bro.... you certainly deflated the (tiny)pest's (big)ego...

vios, dont feel surprised lah...
That moron likes to get attention...although end up with the wrong kinda attention from us...

He know NUTS about F1 and still wanna think he damn good...and still got the cheek to teach me English when he can't even write properly...

sm, those are the real stuffs.... read somewhere that the social escort agencies also earned big bucks over the wkend... certainly, these gals' requirements wld be much higher than the singtel grid gals, who cheered irritatingly like hyenas... at least for me.

Wow i was also switching between both Channels to watch.... But I feel that Ch 5 covers more areas...

and clearer...

Feeling sorry for Alonso on sat and excited for him last night. Poor Kimi, miscalulation or over confident huh... Glad that Lewis managed to stay on the top of the chart.

Hi

I watched the both qualifying and race day on TV. It was a great race, and though I'm a MacLaren fan, I am completely gutted for Massa. But Ferrari as a team deserved the penalty after what happened in Valencia a few weeks ago.

The good thing is now for the first time since Australia, MacLaren are on top in the constructor's championship.

But I don't understand why there must be such skimpily clad school girl cheerleaders at the race - they sounded so rehearsed when they cheered the drivers coming out. I nearly died of embarrassment. I wished the ground would swallow me up.

sm....
hahahaha!!!
"Well you can say it is teamwork for renault cos if his team-mate did not crash, he won't be champion however perfect he can be driving"

Good one. Team work indeed. In fact, I was finding the timing is a bit too good to be true. Could this be the Renault strategy since their only hope is Alonso actually. His team mate really cannot make it. So go bang wall at good time is team work ;)

Milo

You summarised my exact sentiments. It all seemed a bit coincidental to me that Alonso had just nicely pitted moments before Piquet Jnr crashed.

Of course, it helps that Alonso is talented. From 15th on the grid to 1st, it's an excellent achievement.

I was a McLaren & Alonso fan until what happened last yr and I've to ditch McLaren.... haha. And of coz Hamilton's "attitude" dun help in convincing me to continue my decade long support for Mclaren. LH hv this attitude that its his "right" in the team, in F1 etc. That he's the rightful heir to the championship.... urgh!

BTW, Alonso engine didnt fail on Sat. Else he'll have a penalty for changing his engine. I think he already used up his 1 "free" engine change this yr. From what I've read on the news, shd be a fuel pump issue.

And for the 2nd pitstop, even if he exit behind Rosbery & LH, it is fine as both of them still have a pitstop to make

anyway, talking abt pure racing talents, i've to admit alonso is not the fastest out there at this moment. as much as i hate to say it, i think LH & Kimi is still the faster driver. but i'm a fan of this guy for 2 reasons. one, he really rose thru the ranks by driving a lousy car in the past, then become renault test driver before becoming 2 times world champion. he earned his name basically, not like some guy call LH who talk as if its his birth right to the championship. and second is becoz i feel alonso is fantastic worker behind the scene in development of the car. u can see the improvement in Mclaren last yr and the improvement in renault this yr. amazing. a bit like Schmi in this aspect of hardwork & technical dedication

idono,

I think alonso a lot of crap lah.. sore loser. I remembered every time he lost, he would complain about something.. And he also thought as 2-time world champion, Mclaren would make him the No 1 driver. Unfortunately the rookie Lewis Hamilton is quite talented and was able to match him race for race. Mclaren being a British company naturally would favour Lewis Hamilton.

Lewis Hamilton, whether you like him or not is probably the most talented and balanced driver. Very matured for his age. He was literally robbed of his world championship last year.

Kimi is fast, really fast but he is not as cool as he can be. He make too many mistakes.

Felipe is quite a steady driver as well - very smooth driving.. unfortunately he don't seem to have the luck.

well sm,

yar, i know, some folks really dun like Alonso. A bit of whiner. But if u follow Mclaren long enuff, i think u'll agree tht Ron Dennis hv a habit of having personal favorites :p.... I know, coz i supported them long enough. i mean if i'm as good as my co-worker in the company and i see my boss prefering my co-worker much more than me, its kind of unsettling. esp if i've put in more work than my co-worker. and tht my co-worker is only as good as me. anyway, i dun think Alonso got into whining becoz he feels threaten by LH. so far, in all the news, it seems tht he acknowledge frankly tht LH is talented. i believe his main quarrel is with Ron Dennis.

moreover, LH rose into promience coz he was able to match alonso. and eveyrone knows tht alonso is probably the best overall driver out there last yr. being able to match him is proof enuff of LH's talent. look at piquet this yr, dun think he's a lousy driver given the hype surrounding him. but look at how alonso totally crushed him.

agree tht LH is v. talented. dun like him. dun like Schmi too. i mean like schmi was really impressive but if u follow his early yrs, he's just very beng ;p. But as for LH, his experience is still a big doubt.

Kimi is a bit unusual this yr. think he lost his motivation. usually dun make much mistakes. Massa on the other hand is totally accident prone. u can call it bad luck. really cant see him as a world champion. unfortunately, if its not him this yr, it'll be LH. so i'll go with Massa...haha.

guys... did u read the article on weekend Today? They are blaming the MRT for the engine failure for the Red bull car. Due to static created from the MRT training travelling at the very same timing.

Could that be possible?

Generally in Singapore, we are alot less affected by static due the high humidity levels. I find it hard to believe the claim.

For me, Hamilton reminds me of Schmi... aggressive and risk-taker... The type of driver who could start at last grid to first place, that sort of driver...he has proven much in the last two seasons thus far, and there are many more years ahead of him.

Am neutral towards Alonso (at Renauth or McClaren) all along, but he was really a whiner last season; clashed with Hamilton and Ron at different times. Blah... was glad Kimi overtook both of them at the last race. Heh.

I hope Massa wins the next race, cos i've been rooting for Ferrari since Schmi's days.
On a side note, i think Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo is the super duper whiner of this season; fancy him naming Singapore grand prix as a 'circus' whilst he has provided the clowns. Hahahha....

vios,

Yes, Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo is a whiner and if you notice, Italians like to whine a lot. Like when they were knocked out of world cup in 2002 by South Korea.

But he has a valid point with regards to the rules, especially that the pit lane "was not opened" and drivers (kubica, rosberb) being penalized for entering pit stop while it was closed. In the circumstances, with the safety car out - the rules has to be changed and be flexible.

Essentially it reduces the race to a lottery. In monaco it is worst - absolute no overtaking.. at least in SG, overtaking is possible.

Japanese Grand Prix.... heh, what a race!

Some thoughts:
- Hamilton indirectly created an upheaval at the first turn with his extremely ego-aggressive ovetaking of Kimi (who started at 2nd grid but was faster at the start.)

- Hamilton and Massa deserved the drive-through penalty, which came off worse for the latter in terms of championship points.

- Kimi was lucky to hit the podium owing to Kovalainen's retirement from the race who was coming in third.

- Alonso first place again... who would thought of that?

- With two races to go, looks like it would go right down to the wire....
