I'm entitled to 7 gowns for the photoshoot. 1 free rental to bring back when close to my AD. Other gowns / Kua at about $300 each I think. Freight is another charges.

if the dates given by ur bro are on weekends, the chances are high that most hotels are taken up.

sinplyme: do yo have any special dates in mind? I chose my date based on some special dates before checking the lunar calendar.
But you are right, have to reserve early.. I reserve my hotel as early as 1 yr ago too..
It is a day whereby we will will be getting all the attention.. worth it worth it.. *wink*
just a question,
we actually planned to have the ROM and AD on the same day,
so it seems that the usual way to do it is to invite the JP/Solemniser to the hotel
and solemnize before the banquet starts or at the start of the banquet.
But secretly, I wished for it to take place in the Registry of Marriage there.
Just wonder if anyone has done the below before?

Not exactly what I wished for, but was given by a Thai Master.
Even before getting the date, my dream Hotel was Pan Pacific
and I thought I was early enough to enquire for Dec 2010 availability now.
But who knows, the date was taken already!

so now, I'm still busy with securing a date for the banquet.
If all goes well, I would have a venue secured by end Sept or early Oct.

Some of the ones that caught my eyes are designer gowns which I read that it can be quite ex!
Moreover, certain designer gown boutiques don't have a package.
Doing a rough calculation, it will be a big burn in the pocket if I go ala-carte... =|

You have to clarify all such minor details, rather important before u arrange for your solemination. This is to prevent things from going haywire on your AD and you might have no time to rush to the office for your solemination.. Moroever, you might have to start doing your evening makeup by 4 plus.. thus..
In a way, as ala-carte will excludes photographer and MUA.. all these are additional costs.

oh.. btw, we're meeting up a wedding planner this weekend *hopefully can make it coz HTB schedule very tight as he needs to run few errands (his sis wedding next sat).
From my HTB, he mentioned that she is able to get banquets prices much cheaper than market rates.. prob $100 lesser per table or so. So gg there to see what she can offer. =)

For my case, I MTM my WG and EG too.. but it is in a package form.. Haha.. you have a long way to go ya.. take it slow.. cut down on carbo, rather easy to go down..

snoopies: haha.. I agree. Especially, when I am a sweet tooth person, but I guess we have the determination when we have a clear objective? I love my WG, it is a little special and kinda of transluent...
Hmm.. They have the AD MUA and the necessary gowns, but of course, you mus compare the prices properly..

Hopefully will be able to secure it cos I was told 2 other couples are eye-ing on that date as well...

so how do i get her to commit instead of saying she'll try?
I mean ultimately she must commit before we decide if we want the place cos we don't want to end up shortchanging ourselves by paying more and getting the same things or even lesser than others.
I'm afraid I might end up sounding pushy instead of tactful if i say "I am sure you guys can do it right?" or... "It is like other hotels are also doing the same thing."

sinplyme: I see.. is this your 1st meeting with the hotel? Your HB prefers both of you to go through it perhaps.
Hmm.. For my case, I usually confirm my details via emails; I will put in sentences such as "we would appreciate it.." "we would be grateful.." etc etc.. In the starting, I did tell my coordinator rather openly that Hilton is my 1st choice coz of... but I am also considering others.. they are offering perks like... etc.. what can they offer me? I used a different approach in a way.. Upon confirming but before the signing of the contract, I requested for more and more things via my email..

Hmm.. what u can do is reserve the date.. no obligations and tell the coordinator that you will get back to them by a date.. at the same time, ask them to get back to you on your requests too..

Sorry sinplyme: sorry for the late reply. I think their prices are reasonable, $100 for 200 pieces.. S$10 per icon... Have you check out other printers?

I think you can try asking a few BS for a start and look at forum reviews too, then get the first hand experience at the shortlisted boutiques itself.
