Anyone whose partner is suffering from Bipolar?

mental conditions are still a taboo in our singapore society. Its alot more common than perceived. If you read online, u will find alot more information overseas. u can join some newsgroup to understand how families are coping.

realised that about 20% of people in US are diagnosed with mental conditions. In SG, there is also a very significant rise in the number of people seeking help through counseling or psychiatrists. Hence i was hoping we might share our problems here, at least is a SG version kind of like discussion group, and we can relate more to each other.

be it in Sgp or States, the mental conditions are caused by the same chemicals in the brain.

For sure, the culture differs. I think people here are alot more discrete about this. If someone tells u he/she is hearing voices, most of us will freak out. Even with the family. Its very sad. Realizing at how common such conditions can be helps both the patient and the family. Medication alone cannot help the person. Family support is much more important than being reliant on some drugs.

Hi all,
I have been on anti-depression pills for last 2 years and I got into that as my job is very stressing and needs a lot. Now I fell that these medications are affecting me. Studies have shown that male with depression are more prone to ED disorder. I am 39 and think that I am suffering with this disorder and it is affecting my life. The whole day I feel stressed about my health and my sex life.
http://www.levitrabliss.com From this link I got to know that Levitra is a FDA approved drug and helps in treating impotency and ED disorders in men suffering from risky medical conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes.
Should I have this medication to get over my disorder or should I try some herbal medication. Should I continue to have my anti-depression pills? Is there anyone who has faced such problem and can share his experience with me? I will be grateful if anyone can shed some light on this and can suggest me what can I do.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

My boyfriend has bipolar disorder. Its hard to talk to friends and family about this. I would like to find somebody who has similar experience to talk with.
