Anyone having the Tea Ceremony at banquet venue?

Hi, I am urgently looking to hire someone to coordinate my tea ceremony i.e guide my relatives through the procedures and customs for an hour or two before my banquet.

Does anyone know of someone I can contact? I feel that an outsider to direct the whole thing is more neutral and both our sides aren't familiar with the tea ceremony procedures.

Thanks!

Hi SM85,

I can help you out if you like. PM me.

Thanks.

Is this thread still active?

I would like to find out the procedures of having a tea ceremony, solemnization and hotel lunch banquet on the same day. Do we do the solemnization or the tea ceremony first? Is it weird to have the tea ceremony first before the solemization because we are not legally husband and wife yet before serving tea to the elders.

Hi @angelonearth don't worry you can do the tea ceremony first. It won't be awkward because in Chinese traditions, after your husband has picked you up from your house you are considered married already, ROM ceremony is for legal procedure only.

Not sure whether this thread is still active? Juz wanna find out if anyone follows this sequence as we had done our rom done beforehand due to our bto had completed last year..
Groom fetches bride from hotel -> goes back to groom's house n serve tea to groom's parents -> goes to the new house -> back to hotel n serve tea to bride's parents -> rest until evening n serve tea to groom's and bride's relatives -> reception -> dinner
