Anyone goes swimming?

hi hi!

I used to swim very frequently like 3 times a week for at least an hour (non stop) for about 2 to 3 mths because I was in between jobs.

I remember my friend who gyms alot telling me to swim non-stop at a moderate speed if I want to lose weight and tone up. Swimming fast would like result to bulkier muscles.

I didn't really weigh myself during that period but I was visibly toner (bye bye arms were less wobbly) and felt that my clothes were looser.

I prefer swimming to jogging but only thing is dryness for my skin and hair so take note to buy shampoo and shower foam which washes off chlorine!

Also note not to pile up too much calories after a swimming session because I always get extra after a swim.

Cheers!

Hell yes swimming will lean you out! Check out the bodies of professional swimmers like Dara Torres, and even better: read up on how much they have to eat to maintain their weight.

Swimming works large muscle groups at a time and is zero-impact. The best way to use it as a cardio work out and burn away body fat is to swim intervals/sprints, or swim a mile to make a benchmark, then try to beat it every time. You will notice if you swim daily and really push yourself, your metabolism will increase and you will lean out a lot - especially in the abdomen/obliques area and chest/shoulders. The last time I trained for a competition I lost 14 lbs in two weeks, and I almost never stopped eating! You have to swim hard though, like with anything else, if you're relaxed, you're not doing it right

I don't think it is.

Last summer I went on holiday to Turkey and we have a house by the sea over there.

I wanted to get fit. I had a few options, swimming; walking; football.

When swimming I found that I was developing muscle but never actually losing any weight. So I thought I'd try something else.

When I played football I lost 7kg in a space of 3 weeks (I think).

So if you want to lose weight, play football.

I would like to go swimming, first of all I want to learn swimming.
And to keep me in a fit form and to train some of your muscles it's good to do swimming.
