Hi

Advice need urgently
currently my hb and me are looking for a flat but due to some unhappiness in this company he decided to give up his job ,not too sure when he will get another job..he has been to few interviews and currently base on my single income is less than 8k.this qualify us for hdb loan n grant.what happen if during the house hunting we found a suitable unit and decided to get that house and happen that my hb got a job,so make our combine salary more than 8000.are we still able to get the hdb loan and grant when the documents has already been submitted to buy the flat?

I tried calling hdb but cant get thru.anyone here can advise me? my friend has told us to stop house hunting until my hubby get a job but we do not wish to stop our house hunting.

Hi winnie,

Don't worry. The $8000 limit is only at the point of application.

After the application is done, even if you struck TOTO and become a millionaire, they won't care.

HDB don't prevent people from getting rich after they bought their HDB.

Yes agree with Albee..not to worry much.....HDB will access ur HDB loan and cpf grant base on prevailing eligibility conditions AS AT ur resale application to buy a resale flat...

Just got to make sure ur own monthly income are able to get u sufficient loan..

do check with HDB for lastest update as mention by Albee..u may want to write in to HDB if u cant get thru their line or maybe try calling a few more times..

Good luck..

upon re-reading the original post, i realized i was the one talking out of my ass. don't mind my previous post.

unless you can get a new hdb unit in a desirable mature estate near to mrt, it's better to go private/resale. this is esp. so if your combined income will be significantly above $8k. quality of life considerations aside, i don't like being stuck with a flat for 5 years.

who? me?,
the way u put it was really funny lol
i must admit i was tempted to be sarcastic in response to your earlier posts, but decided it was none of my biz, and I'm glad i didn't. What u wrote in ur last post, i respect that
