Advice on Negotiating a Hotel Wedding Package

Hi everyone,
I have only 1 week in Singapore to negotiate and finalize a package. Since this is my first time, I am wondering if you have any advice for me?

I am looking at a Hotel Wedding Package for 10-15 tables.

Are there any hidden costs that I should be wary about? besides what's printed in a hotel package?

What should I check before putting down the deposit?

How much are the deposits usually? Can we renegotiate terms after the deposit?

What items are negotiable and what is not?

If you had your wedding before, what items do you think is necessary but not included in most packages?

Thanks so much for your inputs! :D

Hi Shireen,

For 10-15 tables @ hotel is rather restricted to just a few hotels in Spore but still can be done.

Hidden costs usually like GST *wink* Hotel package usually includes a night stay in their hotel, their different menus to suit everybody, tasting of your desired menu trial session, inclusive/exclusive of any red wine, beer etc? Any corkage charges should the hotel did not provide free flow of drinks or insufficient amount? Free printing of your invitation cards? Any Cocktail b4 the actuall banquet? Hows the ambience n convenience? Compatibility of your preferred wedding banquet day n their availability of their ballroom. Any host catered by the hotel? Music to be prepared by them? Any wedding favours from them?

Before paying for the deposit, ensure should the hotel undergo any sudden bankruptcy or reno, cancellation due to some unforseen circumstances, will there be any refund? Check its ambience whether suiting you or not.

Deposits varies from different hotels. Some pose @ 20% or 50%? I guess minimal terms can be negoitiate bah.. u can ask the in-charge before deposit.

wow...all these hotels is all 5stars de. Price confirm more ex.

I am looking for ard S$600-700+ per table. For 10-15 tables only. Restaurant or hotel all can.

Any recommendation??

erm..my sis last time had her over there..i dun wan same hotel lei..if nt relative will feel funni also...whole family same hotel..haha.

any feedback on happy restaurant at lion city hotel??

Hi Swee Chen,

You choose Lion City Hotel, might as well choose Tang Court located at Orange Grove Road, just beside Shangri-la. The prices are competitive as well. I pass by Lion City Hotel every morning I go to work. The place is like... Hmmm... not very decent. That place is well known for phillipines to gather every weekend & PH.
Just my 2 cents advice.

Hi All!
I'm also trying to find venues with 10-15 tables but not able to find one that I fancy or the one I fancy is too ex. Anyone can recommend?

I have tried Tang Court before and frankly, it's not up to standard. Well again, have to see how much you are paying too. If it's 600+ above, I do not think it's worth it.

it's just my personal opinion.
