A wedding banquet cancelled

Hi I have a qn. My wedding is coming in the end of 2012. Banquet booked, bridal package booked, and now waiting for pre-wedding photography.

Then, my fiance called me to say whether can make it a simple affair like just ROM and so on as he has a family problem. I am fine with that and so he proceed to cancel the banquet.

For me, no need to cancel the bridal package right? Just proceed with the package but minus the AD thing.

How will you girls feel? Do you feel sad without the banquet where you can march in, got nice romantic music and your usual montage, etc...

I almost cancelled the bridal package but I feel something is not quite right because we are not breaking up, just no need the banquet only. I yearn to wear the wedding gown as it is the first and the last of every bride's moment.

cancel everything means forfit also gone?
Don't think there is a need to cancel the bridal package as it include pre-wedding shooting also right?
i believe all ladies would want to wear the wedding gown as there is only once in lifetime.I will sure regret if I don't get the chance to wear the gown.
