A set of betsheet for actual day compulsory?

I think it's something the old generation will insist coz it means something new. My mum actually told me to prepare 12 sets of new clothes too, to wear for 12 days after my AD. But I didnt follow that totally. Haha. Anyway for my bedsheet, it was placed by my husband when my in-laws did the an chuang a few days b4 my AD. Dont hv to hv bridal patterns if ur old folks dont insist on it. We use a normal pink bedsheet instead.

The bride's parents will buy new bedsheet for the couple.. together with 2 pillows and 1 bolster. The groom's parents will buy the mattress and the bed frame. All must be new. That is what I'm told my by older relatives. But some couples don't foillow that anymore.

i jsut bought a new set, since my current one is quite old..time to change a new set..i got a gold set which is nice, not the biang biang red ones..

I bought a set of cute ones from Aussino. I'm also buying another pink set from Bliss Collection. I think it's just good luck to have a new set because we are starting a new life. It's up to individual perference.

again it's up to individual. If you are Chinese and need to "an chuan", then you may need a new bed and mattress. I'm not too sure about the dressing table and wardrobe.

Is it compulsory for the bride to be present during the An Chuan? new bedsheets and pillowcase to be provided by the bride side?

yes new bedsheets and pillowcase to be provided by the bride side. I'm not too sure whether the bride need to be present on "an chuan".

From what i do, my bedframe is still quite new as we bought it less than 1 year ago and strong (seahorse brand) So to save the unnecessary $, we just dismantle the whole bed frame, wipe clean (meaning it's new again) and fix it back again. The current mattress I will give it to my brother & we bought a brand new one, really comfy! And to be delivered on the day of my An Chuang which is like 3pm.

I feel that wedding itself really spent alot of money le...so I try cut down on unnecessary things lah.

At the minimum, a new set of bedsheet and new pillows and blanket/quilt to cover the bed. If possible, buy new mattress. If possible still, buy new buy. actually An Chuang just means setting up the bed. Just lay bedsheet and pillows and quilt cover, lay red plate with traditional stuff on the quilt cover, and lay red packets at the corners. not so important to get new mattress or bedframe, but if can, then better lah.

I don't think need to have 'bridal patterns', but I really don't mind having new bedsheets. Dearris, those pillow cases are adorable!

By "traditions", my mum would have to buy bed sheets for my new bed. TO save the hassles, i buy my own bed sheet and claim from her. Reason being, i scared she anyhow buy those super ex ones and also, not to my likings! I bought my bed sheet for $100 and it consist of 2 pillow case, a QUILT and a mattress cover all wif Dragon and Phoenix!!!

Cheap Cheap

Im was told can keep the bedframe if no one else except the couple hv slept on it b4, but must get new mattress, pillows, bolster and bedsheet set thou...

Like tat might as well change everything isnt it? Coz the mattress usually is more expensive then the bedframe...

I guess it is personal preferences? For me, as I've just change my furniture in my room, which includes dressing table, wardrobe, bed frame and mattress, I will jus change the bedsheets when I do "An Chuan" ba.. It is not that practical to throw away a brand new bedframe that is used less than a year?

Hi littlewoman, I heard if wanna change the mattress, have to place the mattress and new bedsheet during the "An Chuan".
Aftertat cannot sleep on it anymore until ur AD.
