Thanks babe! You using them?

Oh I'm decided to go for twentyone grams in the end, was value for money! Busybody was my 2nd choice, they were super responsive and sounded accommodating, and their package is pretty decent too, so book soon to get the 10% off!

Currently liaising with printer for our invites. At the same time, I'm also sending out "save the date" to some friends n relatives. GDL not discussed yet also, thinking of doing it during food tasting next mth.

When do we need to confirm theme and colour with hotel?

Hi ladies! My wedding coordinator did advise me to go for tasting 2-3 months before. Just don't go too early idk what's the reason too. Haha. Because after food tasting, usually the coordinator will meet the couple to further finalise the wedding matters and all.

My coordinator told me 2 months before, but I scared will hit the 7th month period, so I intend to do it in July, maybe mid or end July. Cos our families have not discussed GDL and whatsnot.

I have 1 question regarding the angbaos we receive on our AD. If relatives pass the angbaos personally to my parents, do these angbaos belong to the couple or the parents keep the angbaos for themselves? Is there a usual practice or tradition regarding angbaos?

Cos nowadays I know couples will pay off the banquet themselves using the angbaos they recvd. However I heard from some elders that the angbaos should all be given to the parents instead, then they 'help' the couples to pay whatever is needed, and they keep the balance? So the couple gets nothing. Anyone discussed with their parents on how to settle the angbaos?

Angbows is couples one. But parents will keep first, end of wedding they return to the couple. I've discuss Mine this way but I'll give a separate angpow to parents as a thank you.

I think it all depends on your arrangement with your parents. The dowry can comprise of either relatives' angbaos (i.e. give tables) or a big angbao from the groom's family.

So say your htb plans to give your parents 5 tables of relatives, then your parents would keep the angbaos from these 5 tables.

There is really no hard and fast rules on this, just make sure you handle this part well, state clearly upfront in case of any misunderstanding which will lead to unhappiness later on, especially when it comes to money.

To me, as long as it's reasonable, just go with what your parents ask for. Do it well once and for all, money can be earned back in future haha :)

Thanks for your replies. Cos I wanna find out what's the current practice among modern day couples. Our parents' times, wedding didn't cost so much like now. Now easily 50k and above just for banquet so I don't see how we can pay for it if not for the angbaos.
