I'm a 2014 bob too! Comforting to know that we are not the only ones planning so far ahead for our wedding..

Booked our bridal studio with My dream wedding. As for the banquet, we are deciding between a few, fairmont, Conrad, park royal at Pickering street, pan pacific, Novotel and furama.

We been to furama and Novotel, Novotel is so-so smallest ballroom has walls in the middle of the ballroom. We quite like furama mercury ballroom but the still got some pillars, but we quite like the solemnization lounge....

Anyone has attended weddings in these hotels before? Can share??

I have been to Fairmont, Pan Pac and Conrad. Without a doubt Conrad was the best. Ballroom was a good size, and food was good.

Pan Pac one the room was a long rectangle so I didn't like. Fairmont must have been so so cos I don't rem much of it. Hope this helps!

Hi Esvta,

I never been to Korea, so can you let me know which areas are safe to stay?

For me, I engaged The Louvre Bridal for their korean photographers to take my shoot, so shoot venues I don't need to worry much and I like their photo style.

Korea must be nice, since you going back to take your shoot.

Hi...! I just came back from Korea in Mar :) going there again for a pre wedding shoot in Oct :) what do you wanna know about Korea? Nami island is a beautiful place! I'm going back there for my shoot :)

Btw, a 2014 bride too!

hi all, is it ok to have ROM and AD 1 year apart? or is it better to just keep it a few months apart?
also, would like to ask, if ROM and AD are on different days, which is usually the wedding anniversary date?

thanks! :)

I think it should be the rom date cause it's the date reflected on your marriage cert.. My opinion :) but I guess it doesn't really matter.. Depends which both if u prefer?

Went to the regent hotel "dare to dream" roadshow. Disappointed. Went because of the lady's card promo, see attached, but there's no 150 off per table.. Bit sad.. Although the ballroom is pretty but location is a bit far from station.. =(

No... Find that the ad info is misleading. Initially when I first showed them this message the manager said this promo is only for banquets held in year 2013. Not valid for 2014. But the fine prints indicated that the promo is valid for 2013/2014. When I asked again they said that is a mistake, information is not correct. Like not very honest. And to be frank, the 150 off per confirmed table is quite a lot lo. So in the end we never sign up.

Hi Jo, I never experienced with any of the both hotel u mentioned. But I did went down orchard hotel to meet their coordinator. The coordinator i met is very nice n friendly. The big ballroom is under reno. From station to orchard hotel, u need to walk 10 mins. I heard from my friends that the food is nice. :)

Hope it's help. For Carlton, I'm sorry that I couldn't help. :(

Hi Amanda, Ok... I been to two hotels..

Orchard hotel has quite nice ballrooms, high ceiling and pillarless.. The only problem is that it requires a 10 mins walk from station. And the ballrooms are right next to each other..

Carlton itself gives a more classy feel.. But as we do not have that many tables, we can only go for the smaller ballroom which has 4 big pillars and is not high ceiling.. :(

Bit torn on which to choose.. Going to take a look at fairmont today! Hope it offers something in the middle..

Hi Amanda, the packages for second half of 2014 for fairmont has not been out yet.. But based on our number of tables, we can only go for atrium ballroom which has pillars and is low ceiling..

Think ultimately we are still considering between orchard or Carlton..

Hi all! Nice to see this page getting more response. I'm a Dec 2014 btb. Started planning and researching since beginning last yr. But so awkward to mention i'm a 2014 bride. Booked my bqt last yr, taking pre wed shoot nxt mth. I know mine very chop chop. But cos I'm getting keys Q1 2014. My boy think its better to plan and do certain things early. Glad tht he supported my idea and doesnt make me feel kiasu... :p

Hi everyone! I'm a 2014 BTB as well. Hubby and I are looking at June 2014. Looking around to see which hotel and BS to go with. We are considering having a small wedding banquet which has a dance floor. Hopefully, things go well! :D Do you girls have ideas on how to make the wedding banquet more fun? I kinda don't want the traditional dinner where we just go around taking photos with every table... Anyway! Hope to make more friends here.. If not, my poor hubby will need to endure more wedding talk! Hahaha!

Welcome! Can't wait for your wedding tips.

thanks leess :)

first tip (as shared in another thread) :

I read up a lot about weddings (it's part of my job), and one thing a lot of brides regret is not spending on a good photographer and/or videographer. after all, once the food is eaten, once the flowers have withered, once the music stops, all you have left of your wedding day are the memories captured by your photographer and videographer :)

hope all of you can find a suitable photographer and videographer to capture those memories! :)

hi Girlymi,

I must have missed your reply.. Korea is where he proposed so we are going back! It's beautiful too.. :)

I stayed in Myeong dong - prince hotel the last time and will be staying there again this time.. Generally the hotel in Myeong dong is not big and quite expensive (approx. $150-160 per night for Prince) but very convenient.. Just above the subway and there's a 24hrs restaurant approx. 5mins away.. The food there is nice and not ex.. Underground pass got shops and opposite is the huge Myeong dong paradise..

If r looking for cheaper alternatives, can check around their universities area for hostel? And for bigger room area can check Gangnam area.. I stayed in Provista (same trip) and was wow by their room cause it's like a studio apartment w living area and kitchen (onlynused the washing machine) and bedroom..

Btw, can share w me your package for louvre bridal? I'm looking for bridal studio for my AD..

Hi everyone! I'm new here, just started on the planning process, almost done with deciding on the date and venue! Most probably going to be a July 2014 BTB too! I'm also going to be planning most of the wedding overseas so.... wheeee its gonna be fun. Any recommendations for BS? And which would you prefer: get a package, or do ala carte?
