How is your preparation for all december bride? i mean what have you done until now beside book the bridal and place?

This weekend I will be going to try on my remaining gowns which are meant for the outdoor photoshoot.
Then in May will be my actual pre-photoshoot. Well in the mean time, I am sourcing for bridesmaid clothing and choose the songs for my church wedding and I will also be attending a marriage preparation course in march.

How about you. Hows your preparation so far?

when is your actual date? me havent done anything yet next week will go down to try gowns. I thought of taking pre wedding photo around april or may but my friends said to early to take? confuse whether should i go and take around that month or need to wait until june or july but most people wont take picture during june or july coz of seven month.

is your church have marriage preparation course? or you took from outside?

Nope I don't think its too early to take the pre-wedding shoots.
April and May will be a good time. So that at least you have more time to prepare for other minor details that you might have miss out.

Yes my church has the marriage preparation course. But its not held in the church but outside instead.
Well, if you are not catholic, there is still marriage preparation courses that you can consider to go to if you think it would be helpful. *just sayin*

Just curious which hotel did you book for your banquet and when is your actual date?
 
Yup book in M hotel.
how about you? which hotel are you booking? Do you get your license soleminer for your holy manitory as well? is your ROM and actual day is the same date?
 
I booked Holiday Inn Atrium way back last year in June.
Yup ROM and AD same day.
Yeah got my liscense soleminer for my holy matrimony already. I asked one of the priest from another church to be my solemnizer. =)
 
so everything done in same day? difficult for me to get pastor which have liscense to do everything in same day...

Which bridal do you engaged? I took from French bridal not sure the services its good or not read recently services was not bad hehe...
 
Yup everything.

Yvonne creative Bridal. Their services are not bad and they have a wide selection of gown. My only concern will only be the make up and the photography. Not sure how good are they though.
 
do you have wedding lunch or dinner? Me lunch feel like if i want to do everything on the same day will be not enough time
 
I have church wedding lunch reception after mass and following with tea ceremony in the evening at the hotel then following that will be the dinner banquet.
 
Hi all! I am a Dec btb too. My AD is on 27th Dec 2014. So far I have booked:

Dinner buffet: Sheraton Towers
Photoshooting: Castalia at JB
AD Photographer: LMP Productions
AD Videographer: Hwee Studios
AD mk-up artist

We intend to invite close friends (50-60pax) whom we are currently still keeping in touch with, and we don't have many relatives for both htb and myself, so think a buffet dinner is good enough. :)

For photoshooting, we went to JB as it is certainly more value for $$!! They have pretty gowns and their service is excellent! Not pushy at all and super friendly!
 
Hello everyone I am a December 2014 BTB as well and just started my wedding preparations this March! I was so stressed out initially as I am doing all of the planning alone! However, I will be signing the contract for the venue confirmation tomorrow and I think everything should go just fine after that!
How are the preparations for everyone coming along?
 
Hi initially I got stress out and pissed off also as im planning alone only manage to drag him to attend few of the things but almost everything is booked xcept renting car and AD traditional cetemony preparation not yet start.
 
That's wonderful that almost everything is booked! Don't we all manage just fine on our own. All the best i am sure all the rest of the planning will be smooth sailing ahead!

Congrats to all of us hahaz.. So far for me I've only booked the wedding venue and bridal package..

Going for my photoshoot on 6 Jun...

Have you all started to look ard for the Guo Da Li gift and dowry items etc?? I've saw Le Knot at City Plaza Level 5 and Shuang Xi Le (online).. trying to source for other places too.. anyone has done any has done any homework on these?

City plaza oso do sell bridesmaid dress.. those convertible ones.. alot of colours.. the shop asst quoted me $32 for 3 dresses, $30 for 4 dresses and 5 and above is $28..

Hope to hear some of your sharing here :)

Thanks for sharing all of your plans and as well as the useful information about the bridesmaids dresses, I will definitely check that out!

I will not be having any dowry items as my HTB is not local but I think shuang xi le have a lot to offer online and it seems that they have an outlet in Novena but I've not been there.

So far I have finalized:

1) Venue - ROM & lunch at Holiday Inn Orchard
2) Photo/Video graphy - Framewerks
3) Wedding Cake - Perfect Frosting (They have gorgeous cakes, check out their FB albums)
4) Venue Florist/Décor - Fleur D Sign
5) DJ/MC and entertainment
6) DIY save the date cards which I have posted to overseas guests

I will not be getting a bridal package and will be looking at gowns to rent a few months before the wedding.

Was thinking of buying my bridal and evening gowns but for a gown to wear for a couple of hours in my opinion and probably the lack of wardrobe space buying is no longer an option.

Still sourcing for wedding favors and thank you tags.

I will be decorating my own Reception table with a wishing tree, tags for guests to write their well wishes on, photo frames, candles and some wooden décor which I got from etsy.com

Shoes, jewellery and the small stuff will be purchased at a later date.

Has anyone started a fitness/beauty regime yet? I'm back to gym and healthy eating, I've got 10kg to lose before the big day!

Signed up for a facial package as well so i'm looking at an average of one facial session a month and about 2 sessions monthly closer to December.

Would love to hear more about everyone's preparations in details!!

Eh.... Dec 20th is a very hot date indeed. My AD is on 20th Dec 2014 as well. Since last year I've already booked the banquet at GoodWood Park Hotel,live band with sparkle music, booked my AD photography with tinydot and VG with alvinadeline. Recently I just took my overseas pre-wedding photos, did my trial make up with the MUA, brought my wedding bands and this Sunday I'm trying the kua for tea ceremony. Wedding growns I've also brought, only thinking if I need an evening grown as I do not intend to have a 2nd march in, prefer to enjoy my wedding dinner instead ;) . Glad to know that there is a lot of Dec brides!!
 
I have not seen and tried the gowns. Intend to only do it 3 mths before. Is it too late? :eek:
Done the overseas pre-wedding, so, roughly have in mind what kind of gowns I guess.

As for the 2nd march in, I asked my banquet manager, he says is subjective. Couples can choose not to have it. And my SO ask him to da bao the food for us to enjoy later. :p
 
Hi all btb, I am Dec bride too. My AD will be on 6 Dec.

bearine, i recommend you to choose your gown earlier in case your fave gown got booked by other bride or can't find a suitable gown.
Dec is a popular month hence nicer gowns will be gone from the rack.

I walk doing some window shopping n came across tis shop at Far East Plaza which i think they rent and sell wedding/evening gowns. I saw a lady there trying out one of their evening gowns.. Not bad.. think its at level 2 or 3.. Perhaps u gals who needs to rent / buy can check it out.. But duno the price tho..
 
Hi, have anyone started the "save-the-date" invitation or some sort of informal invites? When should I invite ar?

Btw, not sure if anyone have this issue. My tea ceremony is supposed to be done within 6am-8am. The photographer and makeup artist was said to start work at 7am.
So, if I ask the makeup artist to come at 5am-7am, isnt it as good as engaging them just for the dinner banquet???

For photographer, what time would it be recommended for them to come in the morning? and, they will proceed directly to the female side?

3-6 months prior to the wedding is a good time to send out invites. Normally photographer and MUA can start early for the wedding , just that there may be a surcharge for starting early, do check with your respective vendors. If you only engage 1 photographer, normally they will shoot starting of the bride unless you request to shoot groom instead.
 
The surcharge told was like $80/hr iirc. 2hrs for MUA, 1 hr for photographer. :(
Hope they wun be late. If they late, I can charge them too? :rolleyes: For the "emotional damage" as well. :p

For mine MUA & photographer is $50 an hr and videographer is $150 irregardless of the time..

My htb needs to leave his house at 5am.. hahaz.. guess makeup will start at 4am or earlier.. *sweat*

@faye_wlibra hv u gotten ur photographer & videographer??

@bearine the photographer will normally be on the female side starting frm the makeup time.. they oso need to take pics for u and ur parents when they put on the veil for u.. *emo time* keke if you have videographer maybe u can juggle between groom and bride side.. one videographer and the other photographer unless u hv 2 videographer then no prob areadi??

  • AD photographer
  • MUA
  • Wedding animation, 1/3 way through by freelance artist
I feel that i still got a lot to do:eek:. what entertainment would you all providing at your wedding?

Hi gene.snit, we have the same AD. *Wave* It's so fast that you have confirmed your AD. But I have did my photoshoot and selected the pictures recently. Can't wait to get the album. :) I have not started doing anything yet. Probably going to start my engine after lunar 7th mth.

- I just went for food tasting! Cos my SO's side came over during their kid' sch hols.
- Did my photoshoot and selected, in the midst of designing the album.
- Booked local bridal, yet to select AD gowns. (Hope to do it soon. :()
- JP confirmed.
- Sourcing out dowry stuff (eg.teapots & lamps). Maybe DIY my bedside lamps. :oops: After all, I wanna use it for long, dun want to get it just for the occasion.
- Planning honeymoon. (The top on the list :D)

@@bearine we are having same AD hahaz... so fast u went food tasting areadi ah.. i plan mine in end oct then nov finalise confirmed table number
when u gals planning to send out your invitation cards?? im thinking to print end aug n by mid sept shld be ready.. then slowly write down the names n send out in 1-2nd week of oct.. do u all think its too early / late?? i scared everyone will start planning early for their holidays in dec..
dowry stuff u can go shuang xi le or le knot to check it out?? chinatown oso hv... above the market opp OG..
 
My ad is also 20/12! i just took my photoshoot. Can't wait to see the photos hahaha.

Table number, i only need to let him know 1 week in advance as stated in the contract. I think better 1 mth in advance. Later the cook dilute the dishes. :eek:
Yea, cos is in dec, so I wanted to send out save-the-date invites. But it seems too late as some other btb says to avoid lunar 7th month. Invitation cards, I only can get it 3mths before. So... maybe I shld ask my wedding coordinator again.
Went to msia last weekend, they do sell some. Got the whole package at 378RM, wonder how much it is here. Includes towels, teaset, lamps, basket, bowls set. Didnt really open it. Maybe got other stuff hidden inside.
 
Going to use my parents' car. Feel that the car would be in the carpark, no one will really notice I think. No videographer, so I'm skipping that. :p
Relax, it should turn out well. Of cos make sure u and your htb had already asked your own parents to list their "demands" beforehand. My HTB and me decides everything, so only I bicker with him. haha. :oops:

Hey clubby mouse, where did you do your photoshoot? I just came back from photoshoot in Bali and i can't get to see my album too! have you booked your banquet yet?

Other than tat bridal n banquet all booked.
 
Am going to be a BTB for dec too and now kinda worried if I'll be able to put everything in place. So far we are still toying with the idea if we are going to do banquet together with solemnization (To me, if I don't do it together, I won't want to do it later after we settle into our flat. We are in the midst of getting a resale at the moment) and have narrowed down places with availability. My bridal package with la belle is more or less settled, selection in August and shoot in September.

Keeping my fingers crossed....

Maybe you can consider to engage wedding singers for entertainment? I have a friend that have used this company, Red Kite Wedding last year. They provide wedding singers at reasonable price and are within market rate. (: here is their website. http://redkiteweddings.com.sg/ Perhaps you can check them out!

I think just go ahead and do it tgt. Better than parents/relatives being upset that it is not done properly.

Hi gene.snit, I did my photoshoot locally hence everything is quite fast. They are sending for printing now. Can't wait to get the album too. Have you chosen your pictures and send for printing? Yup, I booked my banquet last year since the trend now is you must plan 1 year in advance. How about you?

i have yet to book. he wanted to secure Park Royal already but the event planner bacteria in me wants to play differently until he asks if i'm planning wedding or D&D - cos i wanted to do themes

Wah, perhaps I didn't do much research then engage the company thus causing the insecurity. Now 7th month parents don't actually allow us to do much planning also, only message friends and inform them with the wedding date. What about you ? :)

  1. photos are ready but i haven't go down and choose yet.
  2. going to book wedding cars soon by this wk
  3. honeymoon booked.
  4. live band booked.
  5. next month file notice of marriage.
  6. Wedding animation completed.
  7. Will begin doing wedding montage next month.
