I sat near the area where the tea reception was during the bridal show. Cos me and my HTB cannot meet the minimum of Pan Pac 30 tables. Initially thought we cam but later we counted only about 25 tables. Also MBS is my dream place to hold my wedding as iconic building. It was first on my list but thought it was too expensive until their wedding show came up with very good perks which I thought were actually better than Pan Pac, one of which is 10% off total banquet bill.
My coordinator told me they have a function room next to the ballroom so can change instead of going back to our hotel room which is ya quite far. Good thing about MBS is we don't have to use their themes, can liase directly with the florist as long as within budget by our banquet package, top up if want more things.

Yup mine is level 4 peony junior ballroom since just nice 25 tables.

One week before yours 18 Oct. What else have you done so far? So far I only managed to booked VG, church and banquet.

Wow that is like so fast! There's still a long way to go. But earlier book is better as its cheaper also. I need to get things done too. Hopefully can settle the bridal studio by Monday as I have already decided which studio I want to go. Btw whose ur PG and VG? Just curious

Ya I Digio was my last stop. I went to Rico A Mona and Sophia wedding first. Rico and digio package has increased to $3888 now. Ultimately I signed up with Rico though Fann( coordinator) told me Di gio and Rico are sister companies and they shared with the same photographers and studios. She gave me a choice to either one but since she is more on Rico side I pick her. Anyway I saw a gown at Digio I liked and she told me she can help me transfer 1 gown if I want. I managed to seal the deal at $4888 with 10h AD photography, 40 poses( 28 pages) and free AD car.
Both of us were really tempted to sign with Sophia as they really threw in a lot of things for $4300+, on top of the usual things, they threw in 1 MTM gown, AD phtographer(10h) with free AD album, free transport for outdoor shooting, AD car provided, 40 poses with 4 makeup looks for pre wedding shoot.
Ultimately Rico speaks out to me more because I prefer their gowns and photography. Sophia's gowns are also very nice with intricated details but probably too much bling for me.

Personally I don't think it is fantastic causes fiancé's company had his dnd there. So didn't consider them.

From my survey : marina mandarin has a unique room (not grand ballroom) which you can have 15-16 tables, they are having promotion currently ($60-80 off per table), not sure the promotion will last till when.
Regent was horrible experience for me as they last min cancell my appointment and let me wait 2hoyrs for them after we had travel to the hotel.
You can try fullerton straits room very nice, goodwood park also, but their price are slightly higher.
Sheraton is having best chinese food from their li bai restaurant.
Movenpick sentosa, anorher cool and great place, but a problem of transportation.

Went for my friend's wedding, the food was great, in a big size as thw whole table couldn't finish most of the courses. The room was great as well. But the only thing to consider is they have a lot of rooms. So, if you choose a good day, they might have a lot of couples having wedding on the same day.
My wedding will also be on 18 Oct 2014!

Still looking around for Bridal Studio. I have list down a few, eg. Divine Couture/Silhouette the Artlier/Z Wedding, any reviews about them?

dont worry, u're not too late. since you've gotten your options for your venue, act on it fast.
as for pre-wedding PS, yes, doing in JB is definitely cheaper. but that also means you have to either engage another BS locally for your AD or you travel in and out to collect/return your gowns etc.
otherwise, go for the ala-carte option i.e. buying your own gown.
work on the bigger items i.e. hotel and PS first. then go down to your AD PG/VG. the rest are more nitty gritty stuff which you need to handle.
talk to your in laws and parents on the expecting guests list especially on the relatives to know what to expect from the hotel before you meet them.

Marina Mandarin is very popular and a lot of dates are not available, Regent has an upcoming roadshow so u can go take a look, Holiday Inn Orchard provide more perks and I think there is a roadshow coming on too so if u intend to have ur wedding in Oct 2014, do check with them

there's a lot of chatter on Digio and sophia here, anyone visited Julia wedding news? i love their white gowns, but have not really seen an evening one that i like yet. seems like they are quite pricey too. anyone knows where to but/rent nice evening gowns?

What's your budget? Are you going for one-stop bridals or designer shops?
I've been to Julia wedding news when I was hunting for my bridal shop, and I wasn't really impressed. If you just intend to just focus on their gowns and not photography, it's fine. I felt the lady there was showing off albums of famous people who have been their customers (e.g. brother of JJ Lin etc.) for the sake of their own accreditation. When we flipped through that said album, the photographer was mainly taking photos of JJ Lin, and not the bride and groom at all! Price wise, I thought they were too pricey as well.
My fiance and I went down personally to the bridal shops we wanted ourselves. We also checked out bridal shows as well, but we were glad we did not sign any package on the spot at the bridal shows no matter how good their deals sounded. Visiting the shops is important so that you can see the full collection of gowns, try on some of the gowns, see how well they're all maintained even before you decide.
