Hallo everyone,

am a sept 2014 BTB

Mine is interracial marriage……
i'm Chinese wif a malay muslim Fiance . Need lotsa advice for planning of preparations for a Mixed-culture weddings. Anyone in similar cases like me? Pls advise!

Confirmation of rings by March

Need to finalized Reception clothes by April…

Book ROMM date ON 9 April

ROMM interview after confirmation of booking

Pay another downpayent for the deco team

My void deck booking is due in May.

Berkat have to be ordered by June

Bridal shoes to b bought in June
My pre-wedding shoot is roughly in June

I need to start re-designing my room!!! (PAINT AND FURNITURE!)

Invitation cards printing in June.

Mailing out of Cards by July

DIY projects to b completed in June.

Tea ceremony preps with my maternal side By july/aug?

Still need to plan a meeting with the people involved!

any more things i need to note?
 
Dreamstar, I went to try mine in sept last year :D but I think its good to book now n start gng down to try ald so that u can get e gowns u like...

Hi bride24, my AD is 7 Sep, I booked with mandarin orchard too. I signed with Gladys the asst director last yr but she has left, not sure if you are aware of that.
any follow up with them so far?
 
Hi all, AD is 21 Sep but so far only booked the banquet venue, prewedding package and got wedding band. We seem to have so much to do and yet so little that we can do. Usually when should we start taking prewedding photos. Work's quite busy so we can only prepare things on weekend.
Do I need to prepare a new wedding shoe and dress for prewedding photo shot?
What else do I need to prepare for pre wedding photo shot? *panic mode on*

Hi lingyou, i believe the more recommendable time to take your pre-wed should be about 6 months prior to your AD. in your case, prob somewhere in March.
it's about time you can call up your studio to check on availability and make arrangements for fittings etc.

as for new wedding shoes and dress, it mainly depends on how and what style do you want in your pre-wed album.
dont panic. arrange with ur studio first. take one step at a time. :)

Thanks Lemonzil, guess I am still on track then. March is a bit tied with work and a travel plan. Heard a lot of people need to go down to the bridal store a few times before they can find the gown they likes, but the bridal store people tell us we only need to allocated a few hours and it should be settled. Anyone can share their experience?

You're most welcome. If you're really busy, may I suggest you can start doing some 'homework' now. perhaps, just grab a couple of bridal magazines, get inspired on the type of gowns you're looking for. Selection of gowns can be done fast especially if you are not fussy or if you know what you want. At least when you visit the studio, you'll probably know where to zoom into, what to filter out.

That's what I did. i browsed through a couple of magazines, i know what gowns to avoid as they dont flatter me. hence, my gown selection for photoshoot was done in less than 3 hours if i'm not wrong. I had to visit the studio more when i selected gowns for my AD cos of the alteration and fittings. selection was also done within few hours. Hope this helps! :)

Thanks chinleng! My bridal boutique is not listed under the page so I worry I decided on a design but can't find it. Seems like I should have decide on a style instead :)
 
HiHi, September BTB tooooo. So excited yet nervous. Last week den we decided to get marry. Supposed to just ROM but we think we will be lazy to plan our wedding 2 years later so we do all 1 shot. Hope time not rushing us. You guys know anyone did the shortest time to plan for a wedding? :)
 
hi Michilee, i did my wedding (rom+ad) in 90+ days, already very rush.. any shorter is really crazy i think? :confused:

we set the date right first.. can't pick the really good/fav dates. but just pick one of the better ones left and good thing had alrdy signed up a pre-wedding photoshoot package in taiwan. but due to time constraint we did in sg instead.
of cos we made a trip down to the studio once we knew we had to rush the wedding.. good thing the studio was understanding enough..
both families were agreeing and friends were all there to help out.. everything came out in time :)

My AD will be on 20 Sept... And taking pre-wedding shoot next week...
Just wanna ask for bridesmaid dress/theme, normally is paid by bride right?
Do you all set budget or just let the sisters decide the theme?

Hi girls! My AD is on 7th Sep 2014 hahaha........ it seems pretty hot date (did a quick count.. 5 other couples on the same day too)
How's everyone's planning?? Managed to booked a 4-star hotel for lunch.. and settled our photoshoot with Dawn's Wedding in Jb so far.... getting stressed
 
I was so confused now.. my fil was diagnose of cancer recently.. My htb and i was thinking whether to postpone or bring forward our wedding... im totally lost... :(

i was in the same situation last year this time, just that it was my dad who was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma. our wedding was fixed in nov 2013 and relatives did advise to bring forward the date. my dad was against the idea as he believed he would be able to recover by undergoing treatment and he did! =) we held our wedding as per scheduled and my dad has since finished his chemo sessions. do pm me if you need to talk, i will advise to the best of my ability.
 
My Ad is September.. By thn he still undergo his treatment.. I know he can make it thru.... But i dunno how my in law will think if we continue..

oh gosh.. wishing ur FIL a speedy recovery.. communication done with both side's parents? If to bring forward, can your bookings be arranged?

Hi dear.. i had just sent out my "save the date" so hopefully give a bit slack time while waiting for cards to be printed. If you are Sep bride and a little pantang... invitation cards must be sent before 27th July coz of lunar 7th month as known as ghost festival, which older folks say better not to be prepare wedding stuff in this month. By the time 7th mth over, its 24th Aug. You have to judge if its too late for Sep wedding. Good luck ;)

Hi Rainzgurl... first of all , congrats to you... welcome to sept bride family..

I am thinking of that too, both families are pantang type... they instruct us not to do anything for the wedding during the 7th month. I am thinking by 7th month over, 24 aug... give out wedding cards will be too late... but 27 july...like too early..oh no....confused.. need to discuss with HTB again

:) congrats to you too!!! Btw when's your big day?? I guess i got no choice but to send on week 29, since my wedding is just 2 wks after lunar 7th mth.. invite will be too late.. guess we have to sms / whatsapp reminders to our guests in late Aug..

usually how long period are we able to receives the complete album?
as I know PWS which include of selection of pic, edit & layout?
I am getting nervous, damn worry time is not enough, as I have not taken for my PWS :(
My studio said within a month shouldn't be any problem... isit true.. Stressed now!!

I took my pre-wed shoot in taiwan. they took 3-4 weeks to edit the 1st round. Depends on how much amendments u wanna make, how many rounds of amendments. They did 3-4 pieces of editing in 1 night. So, i believe is possible to do in a shorter period of time.
I did my selection the next day after the photoshoot as they will only edit those selected photos. Not sure how the local one does.

pick a reputable bridalshop / photographer who promise to deliver... last thing u want are those companies that's bullshitting about havinig many other projects onhand.. and then end up anyhow rush to give u crappy editing.. unless u willing to splurge $$$$$ on the photos & album so as to get priority over other clients. Or they charge u premium for "express service".. If you are confident of your bridal.. then shud be no problem ;) Have fun at your shoot!
