my BS adv me to go down n choose gown in July and prob do the shoot in sep/oct. i'll just follow what they say. i need some time to slim down, i dont think i'll look any better before July.

Gracie: im doing Taiwan PS, i think if spend wisely, doing overseas (taiwan/HK/China) PS, total spending can be compatible with having PS locally...anyways..its still depends on individual budget and how they allocate their budget

Raindeer, You shld decide soon. Shortlist a few. You want to take the ps locally or overseas? They need about 4 months to print out the photos. Then before that you need to do fitting this & that.

Lishan, Taobao is like ebay, there are many different sellers. Some with good reputation some not so good.
Some of them show you magazine photos but they cannot come out with exact the same.
Try to search taobao.com using the following words:
婚纱 实æ‹

Search these words together, normally it will display the real photo of the gown with their in-house model.
It does not look as pretty as those magazine photos but at least it is what you are getting.
For wedding we can't afford suprise.

How to bring it into Singapore, use peeka.sg services. There is charges like vpost but they are quite good. My colleague said they will check size and look out for defect.

When I check with them about it, the person in charge told me that the bride to be 2012 had set up a group and they order together to save cost and review. They could not check on the size as there is no label, what they can do is check on major defect like big stain or big hole, anything too small they cannot really check as they do not know too much details.

for the apple cider vinegar, I am not too sure if it works.
But my cousin used to drink freshly squeeze lime daily to loose weight. At the end, it is effectively but he started to develop wheezing because of this which I am not too sure why.
Maybe it is just too cold for your body?

Tried the apple cider vinegar, mixed with honey and water. End up giving in a wk time as the taste really bad.

Right now doing long distance for 3wks and using My fitness pal apps to calculate my intake per day. result, lose a kg and 1 inch over 3 wks.
This is effectively but not very fast result but I believe it is not too late for you all to start now. Jia you.

im taking meal replacement, Herbalife. Anyone taking this too...

initial weight lost will be significant, i lost 5kg in 3 months...now im in 5th month of replacement. hv to combine with exercise to lost further..

replace breakfast n dinner. cut down fried food n carbo...more vege n fruits..

My AD is in jan 2013. Was thinking of booking the banquet from Pan pacific (pacific ballroom) .anyone booking that venue too? Hows the food?
I have also booked my photoshoots from cannes wedding , taking pics in may. However, i need help in renting of AD grown, either from sg or jb. Any recommendations that is good and reasonable price? Thanks in advance

Hi Lishan, tried some already but have not selected any gowns yet as Rachel advised best to select ard Sep onwards cos they have new gowns every month. I know what i want thou, tulle ball gown =) oh fyi i'm not taking any pre-wedding shoots. have you tried on some gowns already?

Hi! I made up a lil schedule for myself and I'm planning to do my photoshoot gown selection and photoshoot around june - july. Probably better to do the AD gown selection after june since most bridal studios have new gowns every 3 months. They need time to alter the gown to your size also.

The experienced bridal studios usually will be able to work out the schedule for you since they know their own required timeframe for new gowns, alteration, photos edit and photo albums etc.

hee... and of course, depends on you and your hubby's schedule. my hubby's getting worried cos oops! we've only 4 months to lose weight and flab then! if our photoshoot's in july.

yan: i took the pkge from Feline at their roadshow so till now i haven't got a chance to go down to their shop to take a look and i haven't try any gown yet. i should be going down to select gown in jul/aug and take my shoot ard sep.

Hi Lishan! 19th jan's a popular date! We initially wanted 19 jan too but couldn't find a venue of our choice for tt date. Were quite upset to find all the good hotels booked up! anyway, we changed to 7 Jan instead. haha!

U're quite brave to sign up without going down to the shop first! I've gone to 4 bridal studios and I still can't decide yet...

Lishan, Feline has a wide range of gowns so u shd b able to find yr dream gown! Gina the assistant is very nice & helpful. I went to the shop to recee b4 i sign up at roadshow the next day. You're indeed v brave!

soursop: suggest u sign up at roadshow which is like almost every weekend, & do some research abt the bridal shops know what's their forte if suits yr needs b4 the deposit. Feline was only the 2nd BS tt i visited, cos v comfy w them so sign up to save time & effort =) unless u enjoy shopping ard.

soursop/desher: i only had 2 dates, 25nov12 or 19jan13 and only decided to go for 19jan in early last mth. within a week, i cfm my venue with regent. but before that, i took 1 whole month going for many many hotel viewings and it was super frustrating, coz we cannot conclude which date and hotel we really wanted. *really super pek chek*
in any case, i was glad and very lucky that i got a venue on 19th jan *phew*

soursop/yan: i just see their gowns on their albums. he ok, im ok, so we just sign...LOL! din wanna go from shops to shops see the real thing as well, coz we don't wanna go thru what we did for our venue selection also.
the more we see, the more confused we are.

dumbo: shooting in sep should be just nice i guess. din wanna do it any earlier coz i need more time to slim down. haha!

Lishan: tell me about it! I also had a hard time settling the date and hotel. We initially wanted 19 Jan 2013, so we shortlisted 3 hotels and emailed them only to find that they were all booked. then we went to the 2nd group of choices only to find that they were all booked too! Haha! I went into frantic mode.

After that, htb and i discussed and decided since it's become so difficult, why dun we change date? then it became another round of looking up tong shu's, etc to finally get the new date, 7 Jan. And the round of looking up hotels restarted. I'm glad it's all settled and booked.

unfortunately, I have a feeling we're gonna be doing many more rounds of choices... bridal studios, photographers, gowns...

Hi li li, I think the most impt is to estimate how many tables you'll be having, then determine your budget. Subsequently, u can then shortlist a few and approach/visit them.

For us, these criteria were our considerations:
1) ambience - high ceiling, pillarless
2) location - easy parking? near mrt station?
3) food quality
4) package details - wine/beer/liquor, parking, invitation cards, day room for helpers, bridal suite, etc. Most of the package details are negotiable, so the 1st 3 criteria probably more important.

Lili: guess soursop has already ans what u need to know already.
i went to quite a number of them, marina mandarin, carlton, hilton, novotel clarke quay, traders, sheraton, hotel fort canning and Regent. the worse part is, i went at least twice for each of them. i only wanted to make sure that my feeling for the hotel is right or not. haha.

soursop: lesson learnt..i only arrange to meet 2 photographers, one of them last min told me that he is taken on 19th already, so i just picked the other. so no headache for me. LOL!
bridal studio shouldn't be a big issue, price wise they are more or less the same, most imptly you must like their gowns and comfy with the staff there.
anyway, i tink it's good that your start sourcing and for VG and PG soon. it's never too kiasu to chop the one u like. good luck!

Cheryl: since 19th jan is a hot date, u should quickly engage your AD PG and VG fast before they r taken. I got my PG and VG about a month back. apparently, both of them had couples approaching them for 19th jan as well. i was lucky that i approach them earlier and cfm them before they were taken.
