joy79>> Mine is the atrium ballroom. So for also 15 tables capacity. Mine is around 13-15tables, so if i cannot hit 15 tables, i can choose to update my menu to hit the min spending for my ballroom.

So in your case, if you need the smaller ballroom then you can look at garden suite which can accommodate 10-13tables. i didn't choose the room because it is L Shape, and the space for the stage is too small.

I took up the package under the wedding show perks @ 1158++ per table,with free flow of beer and soft drinks.
 


Mine's 14 May @ Goodwood Park for 30 tables

They have a smaller ballroom which really really looks nice too!

Any recommendations for good makeup artists?

Did u take a bridal package? Does it not come with a MUA? Otherwise, u can choose quite a few like Neo LiRen, Bobbie from Makeup Room, Sam Ong etc etc, but u must be comfortable with their makeup style... Try flipping bridal magazines for different makeup and see what kind u like?
 
Hi Kass, cool! I wanted to book for 7th may actually but guess you beat me to it ;) Goodwood park is awesome the place is so pretty w a rustic colonial feel, feel like this is a good choice.

Did you go for the bridal show last month? I signed up w divine couture for my gown. I am going a la carte for all makeup, gown and photography because I was advised that the makeup artists aren't fantastic when you get everything in a package. Am considering sam ong or makeup room.. But isn't it too early to make a choice? I spoke w sam and he said to start doing trials 3 months prior to the photoshoot..?

Any 22 May BTB here?

Right now my HTB and I are still kind of thinking about where to hold the wedding.. We have checked out the zoo but the prices there are quite comparable to 4 star hotels!

Actually, we are thinking of holding 2 separate receptions in one day - lunch for relatives and family and dinner/party for friends. Have you people heard of anyone doing this? I am contemplating if it would be quite 'xiong'.
 
22 May was my preferred date but my venue was already taken, so I chose 7 May.

You should decide soon, if u wanna hold ur wedding in a more conventional location, as they are getting booked up quite early.

You can also have two separate receptions on 1 day but many married couples that I know have advised against doing it because it is very physically tiring. How about separate days instead?

But there are extra costs involved with doing another reception such as the cost of venue, hiring your PG, VG for more hours/days, decor etc.

my banquet will be at Grand Mecure Roxy Hotel, poolside wedding. Anybody planning to hold their wedding there?
 
elgc>> i've heard of some couples doing both lunch and dinner reception cos' they really like the venue but it's too small to hold all. but if you choosing 2 venues, one for more formal and the other casual, may be taxing for u to travel around and also keep to the time schedule for the day..

we have tentatively booked the zoo for 2 sessions in one day. the main reason for having 2 sessions is because we wanted to make sure that we had time to mingle with our family and friends properly... so 2 sessions would mean like 20 tables each still. horrors. haha. hopefully we will be able to get through the long day!

we were really into the long table style but realised that with our long guests list, it is not possible... which is quite sad, but I think we will have to make the best out of it. any one have experiences with this issue as well?

so glad to see so many May 2011 brides here. let's hope that we will all have a great time planning and executing.

kass >> nope, admission is free for our guests. For my lunch guests, they can also choose to visit the zoo after the reception. And since there are going to be quite a lot of young families, I think the kids might enjoy it.

There will be a tram ferrying my guests from the entrance to the indoor venue that I chose.

Reception wise, we can choose to have the usual sit-down lunch/dinner, normal buffet or even BBQ dinner, which we intend to do.

Right now, I am just wondering if I should go all out and do a safari style since we are in the zoo, or tame it down a bit and do it in a bohemian style. Hurr.
 
Hi Kass, I m stil deciding. so need alot of opinions from u all. i do not wish to spend so much on BS and AD, ard 2.5k. I would like a reputable bridal shop, gd service, nice gowns, nice photos (asking too much rite? haha..) Wad kind of inclusions are u refering to?
 
2.5k for a BS package inc pre-wed photography? Or u just need an AD package, which provide AD gowns only, no package?

Not sure if u can get a full package with 2.5k. Even the one-stop BS (like Sattine, for eg) charges around $3k+ for full package inc prewed.

Unless u are considering JB bridal as well.

By inclusions, I mean, what do u need in your package? Pre-wed photography, makeup, wedding car, flowers etc...
 
Jasmine> My friend took one stop comprehensive is about S$3988 (incl AD and pre-wedding MUA, PG etc). If you don't mind JB BS, cost is from S$1.5k but need to source AD MUA & PG separately.
 
My colleague had their pre-wedding photos in Taiwan. They engaged another local BS for AD package incl gowns, MUA, PG, and bridal car, which cost him $2k. I think it is quite worth it bcos package include family portrait. I asked him about the BS name, he refused to say, he doesnt recommend it to me as he doesnt think the service is good.
 
jasmine, for JB, you can try to shop around taman sentosa, there are a lot of BS there... i think catering to singaporeans ....hahahahah

sometimes, the PG also can be arrange to come to singapore for AD, but they will probably ask for a tpt fee....
 
I have not fixed JP yet... too early to book them right, cuz can only file application with ROM up to 3 months before actual ROM date? Also cuz the JPs license might not be valid up till then so they may not agree so early.

Anyway, I read through some of the threads in "ROM and Solemnisation" for the JPs. Got quite a few which are quite popular.

So you will only picked your JP 3months in advance? Coz i think i read somewhere somebody go and pre book the JP like 6months in advance.
 
i think popular JP is booked up till 4-6 mths in advance leh....i think 3 months not very safe...unless you are okie with any JPs.

3988 can include MUA, PG AD gowns etc ah...sounds okie leh...cause if we take JB de gowns and car deco etc already 1.5k SGD le....plus source our own PG and VG is not cheap...plus point is we can select the preferred PG and VG we want though.

Wen, same as u! We've booked Fables BS @ JB since last yr. =) And our PS is so near.. on the 1st & 2nd Jul. Our banquet will be at Orchard Hotel. =D And we also have booked our AD's PG, Michael Ho. Thou he is quite new (till date, 1yr plus experience) but his style n skill we like it so much.

How's all preparations?

haha hi michelle, i run about the threads, even though i am not fables bride, i still chat there sometimes. i am considering between fables and sg brides for AD gowns. going to confirm only in august ba. hope your ps turns out fine!

pg i also haven book. but going to meet up with the pg this month to confirm. but i cannot a VG i like de. u got any in mind?

i ordered it with gold heart celestial and collection around end august ba. i going for shoot in october so i buy earlier =) no harm to source around first.
