i'm also a BTB on Jan '11 but only for ROM, AD not decided yet.

i've been a lurker at this forum for a while =P

just to ask, do u gals book a venue first then book the date to ROM? or vice versa?

U talking bout ROM date? I chose date first… still sourcing for venue.. AD date was selected like last yr as well, so banquet easy to get.

Thanks Lish, Binnie and j0yle for the recommendation.. i just bought 1 pair from anna nucci last saturday.. quite ex cos it exceeded my budget alot!! lol..

will go to the shops recommended by u all to see.. cos i wanna buy 1 more for outdoor photo shoot as i'm dun wan to dirty the anna nucci which cost me so much.. will wear the anna nucci on indoor photo shoot, AD and probably ROM.. 1 for all..
 
i was at 313 somerset yesterday and Anna Nucci having 30% off for GSS period. wondering if i shld spend $56 for a pair of shoes... =P
 
jac, the sales from anna nucci advised me to keep the shoes in the open, instead of cupboard. This way, the crystals will be less likely to fall off.

Lish, i'll be heading down to Sinderella this sat to take a look at the shoes too. but i think if i wanna be budget conscious i'll just get frm anna nucci =))

this thread is so quiet.. anyway can i ask where can my HTB go to have his shirt tailor made?? and roughly how much will it cost?? and how long will it take usually?? as we need it for photoshoot at the end of this month..

besides tailor made, where can my HTB buy shirts from where it is stylish, nice and yet still affordable??
 
Chiu Lin> Have your HTB chose his colour of the suits that he will be wearing for photoshoot.. Basically you can just get the common colour, white, black and red. Cos he wear inside cant see much, only see collar at most.. My hubby got from BHB, if not u can try G2000, they cater to mass, so design wise is modern.

Of cos it also depend what colour of gown you are wearing.. Unless he is going to often wear the shirt that he tailored, then dont bother spending the extra buck to tailor.
 
qiuling>> my htb just got his tailor-made shirt yest. done at Personality at Peninsular Shopping Centre. they have quite a variety of materials/colours to choose from, but we got 2 white shirts, so did not see the rest..

quite reasonable and service is good too. u may want to check the place out. shirts can be done in 2 wks.
 
Anyone knows what are the list of things that we have to get it ourselves? Like the double happiness bedside lamp we have to get it outselves, what else ar?

Binnie actually I do not know wat to get too but u can go this website, www.goldenhappiness.com.sg to see. They have a list of things to get n wat to do for each religion. And you can actually purchase those traditional items from them as well.
 
Thanks chiu Ling, but it doesn't say what the bride & groom have to buy themselves and what are the things that the parents or PIL will buy.. Cos' i'm writing out my expenses list now, so need to know more or less how much more must I spend.. Hmm.. Think have to chk out with those who have got married, then will know.
 
qiuling>> the shopowner showed us 2 types of materials for the white shirt that we want, one $85 and one $95.. we took the $95 and i requested for htb's name embroidered on the sleeve (+$5). so total for one shirt abt $100. we took the simple shirt design even thou it is to fit his tux, so that he can wear to work. if u getting those with pleats and additional details, will cost more. =) hope this helps!

hi all BTB, juz to share with u all. ytd i juz went to G2000 with my hubby to get shirt for our wedding. and nw is hving sales for 2 shirts cost at $49/- and live fresh credit card get additional 10%...
 
btw, we went to Wedding Mansions last sat. prior to that i made an online appointment. with Tandy at 1pm for him to give us an overall intro to their services and shoes (Sinderella). we were there on time and were ushered to a table to wait for Tandy. we are fine if he's late but 10 min into waiting, there's no sign or indication by any staff (there's 2 women, 1 tending shoes another tending to another couple) of his wherabouts.

so i just went to look at the shoes. i must say the selection is pretty and the SA was attentive, she was the only bright spark in the whole experience. my fiance had some dirt on his jeans and needed some tissues. as i was trying on shoes i told him to walk to my bag to get some. the SA immediately pass him a box of tissues. thumbs up for her service!

after waiting for 1/2 hour (we did explore the place a bit and i tried out some shoes), we decided to leave. quite disappointed... felt tat in first place they shouldn't have 'Book Appointment' option if no one is there to follow up. =(
 
Jacqurine, oh okay thanks.. shall go and take a look some time this week.. however that time i went, both of their shirts were green in color cos of spring season i guess.. so how abt now?? what color did ur HTB bought??

Maureen, yup my HTB will be wearing vest however it was provided by my BS. So i'm not very sure where u can actually look for vest.. maybe try tailor made shop??

BTW where is wedding mansions?? how is the price range for the shoes(Sinderella)??
 
@Chui Lin, Sinderella's address is 20 Emerald Hill Road Singapore 229302. its opposite 313 somerset, quite easy to find. they have a modest selection of bridal n evening heels. the price range is from $89 onwards. most of them cost around $129 though. there's like 50% off selected shoes and 15% off bags and other trinklets.

can go take a look, the shoes r really pretty. i didnt buy from there, instead bought the $56 anna nucci cos of budget =P
 
qiuling>> ready-made shirts like those u get frm robinsons cost ard $50, can be cheaper during sales! i'm teochew, my htb's hainanese, but MIL is ok with the procedures, we just do the traditions without specifically following any dialect.
 
Wow the sinderella shoes seems ex. Think I will drop the ideas of going there to see. Jacq I went G2000 yest with my HTB n we bought the shirt too. But I forgot to bring my live fresh credit card. But we stillbought it anyway.
 
xue the sale will end on 25 july.. if i'm not wrong it's the GSS sale..

jacq, yup its really worth the buy.. btw how about pants?? did ur HTB bought any pants? i saw those at G2000, its not very nice and the side pockets are slanted.. my HTB prefer straight line pockets..

jacq: oic.. yup my BS also provide him pants but only 1 MTM pants to keep.. the other one have to get ourselves or if at home have den use lor.. but the thing is he doesnt have.. lol.. so sourcing for one.. my AD will be on 23rd Jan.. How abt u??

chiulin: oh, for mi will be 2 pants are provided by BS. MTM for keep and another for rent. oh seem like alot of bride on 23 jan.. mine is 01 jan
 
wow so good.. mine didnt include the renting of pants =( yup quite a number on 23 jan.. will u be holding ur solemnization on 1 jan as well or seperately??
