I've done my photoshoot in Taiwan with Cangai, just got back my unedited pics. Love the photos! It will take the BS about 3mths to have the album ready.
For those who are planning to have their PS overseas, you gotta plan early for the album to be ready before your wedding day.
And yes, it's best to have everything written down in black and white when it comes to anything involving wedding preps.

2011BTB, Tinydots Yu Hsin is charging me $4000 for 10 hours package, with coffee table album, all images edited and returned, around 800 images. Got a video photo montage also. First deposit is 20%. He is very friendly, and his coffee table album is the nicest in the market, chanel inspired white cambon cover..hee...
Yang from Substance Films is charging $3800 for 10 hours videography. He is considered expensive in the market but he is very professional, guaranteed no cheesy type, and he takes Fann Wong's wedding..also he is the best videography by Tatler Weddings.
I don't mind paying more for the moments, as wedding is a once in a lifetime, so don't want to be stressed by cheesy photos and video...

Hi all! I am a new Jan 2011 BTB, my date is also 22 Jan 2011. I almost signed with Furama Riverfront (tentatively booked their lunch slot for about 6 months) but then at the last minute I couldn't go through with it, so now I am with Crowne Plaza Changi Airport. Look forward to reading more of your posts as the day approaches. I'm excited!

Hmmmm... I was looking through the archives and I realised I did post here before, when I was looking for the couple who booked the date I wanted at ACM.
Just to update, I found the couple, I explained to them (For Rachel's benefit also since you asked this question) that we ROMed on 22 Jan 2006 so it is exactly 5 years later on the same date that we wish to hold our wedding celebration on 22 Jan 2011.
And why 5 years is because my hubby and I earn worse than a SBS bus drive or chicken rice stall holder, so we had to scrimp and save for 5 years before we can afford a wedding.
The other BTB was initially touched and said she would really consider switching, but the next thing I know she calls me and says she is willing to switch if I pay her additional $4000.
I was completely stunned by this, especially when I had just poured out my heart and soul to her about my poor financial state and how much we have gone through just to finally have this wedding, I was in utter shock anyone would ask for that amount.
Nonetheless, I asked her why that amount. She said it is due to hotel charging more during the CNY period, because she has many overseas guests that of course she has to put up for not just the weekend of her wedding but has to be the whole week, and of course because Fullerton is not cheap, and of course it has to include her own bridal suite.
I was simply dumbfounded. Never in my life had someone made me feel so low, so poor, and so downtrodden before. She obviously has money to do all these wonderful things in her wedding and put guests up etc. I could only hang my head low and cry to myself at the stark difference between us.
And therefore I had to put ACM aside, because not only was the date already booked, but from this experience I realised when it comes to planning your wedding, many things are either "meant to be" or it's not.
With my wanting to have it at this particular venue was causing so much pain and hurt to myself, and what a way to start planning what's supposed to be your most joyous day. I decided to put it behind me and to go with whatever is "meant to be".
Like with Furama Riverfront, I was already sitting there almost ready to sign the contract after negotiating for 3 months, however when it came down to it, my knees started trembling, my hand became numb, my heart started palpitating, I started hyperventilating. That was probably something inside me telling me that was not meant to be. So I listened to myself and went with another choice.
Sigh. That is my full story. Hope that it was entertaining for you girls to read and not boring! OK now I can start afresh in this forum! Will need your support! Many thanks!

for me, basically done with all the booking of venue/PG/VG/BS.. waiting for gowns/suits to be ready to take PS locally..

I had booked the venue/PG/VS/BS also, waiting for the first appointment in Aug to meet up with designer...next few steps, I would need to book the JP and also thinking of programme. Because mine is a International buffet style, so it's quite free & easy, we might do a dance. But yet to think of the song and also the school to learn the dance steps..haha.. also, I would love to have a live band and either a cacricuture or live instant photo print for guests...but that would be additional extra cost

22 dec is MY bdae! and my hubby's is 22 May, hence we got married on 22 Jan, so that there will always be something to celebrate at the beginning, middle and end of every year =)

Nice to have all occasion spread out. My hubby and my bdae is both in Jan..imagine how broke and busy we are from Dec all the way till CNY in Feb.Any way 15 jan is my date ..but we are not counting it for our anniversary. We are taking our ROM date as anniversary..hee

My new house in Yishun will be ready first quarter of next yr, and my HTB is also stressing that we shouldn't spend much on wedding so that we have more $$ on house renovation. hi krazimitzi,
if u are playing music from ur hotel/restaurant, they should already have paid a blanket cover for all the musics being played. so responsibility should be with them.
As for video montage, videographer should be the one responsible. however, if u are engaging freelance videographer, they might not have licence to copyright or might charge u a separate cost for it.
if u are doing ur own montage, its a complete no-no. only leeway is to play the montage (without any music) and play the songs u wanna use separately from the hotel AV system.

im actually doing my own montage. and songs will be put inside at the same time. so that it can blend with the pictures coming along in the slides. i nvr knew that we cant do that and the songs has to be played off the hotel AV system! oh dear!

ermm. thats wat i know la. u are not suppose to reproduce the music in any way. if u already did ur own montage, maybe u need to mute the video and play the music separately so that it will be covered under the hotel's copyright license.

I heard that some hotels ask couples to produce a hard copy license to play their montage, some even go to the extent of denying to play it at the last minute because there is no proof they had paid for the license, and couple had to go without their montage, some even without any march-in music?? Wonder how true that is?

GiGi>> can email u the info that they sent to me. the packages are quite standard amongst the live bands, jus that some have more different musical instruments u can choose from. can choose 2/3/4/5 pc band, flexible as to how many instrument and how many singers.

left without much of a choice cuz the geomancer took 3 weeks to come out with 1 date which is 15 Jan 2011.
i took Sattine Bridal for my package, so it coes with everything no need to have the hassle to go and think and source out. anyway i quite liked them! esp their gowns.
i got a huge entourage of like 10 girls and 10 guys. so i MTM their dresses and shirt.
waiting to collect my invitation cards soon, gotta DIY some more. hahahah have to stick the inserts to the card itself.
