I've confirmed my hotel and AD photographer, but have not decided on the Bridal Studio yet...hah.

Been to 8 BSes already...but still can't quite make up my mind.

If you like lace, I think Margaret Brides is renowned for laces... though many bridals offered that too. Just that some designers strengths are their trademarks. =) For example, Amanda Lee is good for colours and Ted Wu good for embroideries. =)

Gal: That is a GREAT idea! It will probably be what I have to do if the top up gets too much...actually I was thinking of lace on the bodice and along the edges of the skirt "only", and not a full lace dress...

Meow: The BS I have in mind is Margaret Brides. Her package comes with German lace, but it's French lace (which requires top ups) that I'm in love with..haha.

KaiStarz: Thanks! My AD PG is Chi Kuang from 39frames. We are most probably using them for the pre-wedding too. Are you a Sept 09 bride too?

Looks like you already got the right vendor to begin with!
When U mentioned in your earlier posts that you like lace, first designer that comes to my mind is Margaret Brides! My sister-in-law had hers done last Novemeber. I think the MUA Kelly (She ties up with MB btw is good too)

Just that MB is not my style... I'm with Ted Wu though. Tan Yoong is great too... but Ted won me over with his friendly personality and chemistry. Those were factors for consideration too when I choose my designer bridals. I visited a handful too before finalising.

SS> personally, my budget comes 1st, cos there are always other hidden costs or expenses we need/expect to fork out for at the end of the day. the other elimination factors were minimium tables, location/accessibity. i understand that it's difficult to choose when you are faced with close "competitions", but it's important that the final choice is somewhere both you and your HTB comfy with. =)

however, i agree with fat_fat, HIA's roadshow is coming, you might be able to get a better deal from them!!! I'm abit KS, but no harm placing your names on a tentative booking till you make ur final decision yah? =P

Well, ideally, will be inviting about 150 guests..but Rasa min requires 250 guests...so if I were to choose Rasa, it means I have to invite people whom I am not very close or don't even know (like parent's friends) which I really don't want to... just want to enjoy and celebrate the nite with my close ones n close friends..

Yvonne, my HTB prefers hotel as there's a room for us to rest after the dinner. The tables for 2009 are so expensive! Most close to $1K, high-end ones are all over $1K.

i went to STS early this year to view the venue. nice high ceiling and it look so casino grand theme in my opinion. hehehe. but then i got to have at least 30 tables to fill up the look. furthermore on my sat viewing day. all ballrooms had been taken up and it looked quite messy especially the ballrooms are just next to each other. I was not given much perks too and after my rough calculation for beverages, it would cost at least $1200 per table for sat package.

Had not been to HIA but i had went for the holiday inn at cuppage there. nice food! and quite grand layout,chandeliors and astmosphere. the only set back is the pillars.

Catty, many hotels are below 1k from my research.
but do also note of their minimum tables requirement.

Here r examples within your budget:-
GCW -(min 40 tables)-(wedding show on 13 July)
Novotel -(min 18 tables)
Amara -(min 30 tables)
M Hotel -(min 25 tables)
Furama RF -(min 20 tables)
Holiday Inn Park View - (min 15 tables)
Heard from the coordinator that HIPW is renovating in 3rd quater 09. So by Dec09, there will have a new look.

For your AD are you looking at weekday or weekend? Me holding at MM, weekday $858 nett, which is within your budget. Vanda Ballroom (min 20 &amp; max ard 28). Marina Ballroom (min 35 weekday / 40 weekend). Hope it helps.
