Hey ladies, how many dining sets do we need to get? You know, the bowls the bride & groom use to eat the egg and mee sua? And where will we eat - at the bride or groom's plc?

I only know we need to get 2 sets of the teacups, one for the groom's side and the other for the bride's side for the tea ceremony.

for tea ceremony, me have been jiemei for frens wedding umpteen times, the common sight is:

1. teacup set normally is provided by both bride n groom family, they usually use the ones tat their parents used during their wedding, which is 20-30yrs back. Chinese tradition - 1 generation pass down to 1 generation etc.

in hygiene wise, better to have 1 set in bride n 1 set in groom side.

2. the tangyuan/eggs should be eaten at groom's family normally on the bed..to signify harmony n happiness n also get children fast.. =)

3. the washing of teacups, most of them will get a pail of water to wash by the side, anyway is just 2 sips..if really v hygiene kind, use paper cups is the best.

it depends on what kind of cars you need, usually ppl ask their frens/relatives to lend. or if they don't have you can go and rent. there are many car rental companies around, not necessary weddingcar.sg. usually 3 days about $400 or something, depending on model.

mashi, the thing about bed cannot shift to new house is an old folk's saying. but some ppl say once the newly wedded couple sleep on the first bed, they cannot change anymore until it breaks. so it really depends on who you want to listen to. if you have invested in a good mattress and bed frame, then of cos it'll be a waste of money to leave it in the old home.
