Ladies, have you all gotten photographer for actual day?

I would like to check out the market rate for PG (actual day) as one of them quote me $1688 for whole day photography, 1 digital design album (90 pics) and soft copy of all photos... is this the common rate?

Hi happypinkbuttons, I'm not sure about the market rate, but my AD PG rate is at $1476 which include whole day photography, 20 pages of the coffeetable album and all soft copy of photos, all edited to be return.

wow. ur fren os li hai ar. copy all the photos to his thumbdrive. lol.. if i wan to copy also cannot as theirs is mac. not compatible wif normal harddisk tat use for windows de. haha..

urs ok lar. 45pics, top up another 70pcs. mine 30 only. so top up more than urs lor. keke...

it depends on the demand of ur PG. the price is ard there. but some is cheaper some is more ex. depending on who u looking at.

most imptly,u must like his works. have u view his previous works? coz AD is a "live" thing, no N.G one.. so he must have the experience to do the job.

I tink he should return u all photos (edited). I heard tat it is usual for PG to capture more than 500+ journalistic photo for the whole day.

mac and windows compatible lah, they use different OS but the photos u can open in both OS, no prob. i'm using mac at home and pc at work.

the rate quoted is average market rate i think. there are cheaper and more expensive ones but what matters most i think is you like his/her style and he can click with you and know what you want.

My AD PG n VG is $1300 (include 2 free slideshow OR 1 free express slideshow). Discount given cos introduced by fren.

Developing of photos not included cos develop on own cheaper.

ya. i knw the photos can b open in both os. i meaning the thumbdrive/harddisk muz b compatible. becoz we wan to download some pics fr the mac using my thumbdrive but cannot becoz nt compatible. lol....

happypinkbuttons - Call him out and view his works. Not compulsory that U have to take him mah.. U must like the style first. Like wat des&jol said, it's live telecast.. it's either capture or NEVER... dun go for ulu ulu and inexperience PG...

My bridal package actually includes a free actual day PS which is worth $588 but we can click very well with our pre-wedding PS photographer which is the resident PG for our bridal boutique.

Was just wondering if the top-up of $1100 is over the normal market rate as we haven't ask around.

According to my HTB, the photography skills of the $588 free PG is not that impressive. Mostly likely will engage our the resident PG as like most of you mentioned, rapport and connection play an important part of the wedding too.

Hi piglit21, I have engaged JP Mr Chia Ti Yu for solemnisation. Heard he is not bad and quite popular in the forum...

better double check ur PS PG can take AD pics or nt. as nt all PS PG able to take nice AD photos as they are nt train in tat area to capture the shots.

if nt, the money u spend is nt worth it... although u click very well..

so hard to choose my suits...phew...and eva was complaining i took very long...today she only have to try to see wat to alter...i'm looking thru from scratch lor...went down twice just to choose hers still say i take long...

i agree with mashi. PS PGs are experienced with studio and posed photography while AD is more on the ball and faster paced. i suggest u see his portfolio before u decide to hire him. for that amount, u can actually get a relatively good package from outside.

iris: i doubt so... tink wil jus stick to viewin from laptop... cos durin PS, my coordinator not veri happy liao.. cos got friends come n visit me during PS n we took some photos for me in gown..

supergal: tink they r pros n cons in viewin soft/hard copy.. feel tt hard copy easier to compare which s nicer n can easy reference back to wat we hav selected n not so tirin 2 e eyes..

stacey n supergal: happy selectin ur photos! hopefuly both of u manage to keep within ur budget..

yup, definitely it's easier when you have hard copy to compare..side by side..so like you said, definitely will have pros and cons lor..

actually, i already top up $1K plus for an earlier PS with another BS..so i'm trying not to top up too much tmr

will see how everything goes ba but this time round i have fewer photos to choose from...290+..unlike the previous time, 300+..i spent 4 hours (7pm - 11pm) in the bridal shop leh..ended up have to send our PG home as well, as she was with us when we choose the photos..hehe!

for mine, he purposely arrange to b there de. becoz my PG is the one to decide on the price n tell us wat the feel of the photos. haha... so he die die also hv to b there.

but some BS is the co ordinator fix the price de. so PG no need to b there lor.

mine still ok lar. total can select de is 160plus. counted nt alot.. some brides here go up to 300 like tat. i will faintz if ask me c so much photos. haha..

most likely will only be able to get back the pixs in Sept. Had chosen the pixs liao but BS confirm will be able to view the pixs(on laptop) this mth.

urs so fast ar. so gd. i only can view in Jul. then if ok then can get the soft copies including layout ba. keke...

collection of album either aug or late sept. depending on BS. becoz wondering lunar 7th mth can collect albums or nt.

I did looked for Mr Chia when I intend to engage him for my ROM in Feb (I sms him in Nov last year). Agreed his respone is fast but he is unable to commit toooooooo early. He said his schedule not out yet so ask me to check again in Jan.. OMG..

As mine is Hot Date, I cannot afford to wait till last min. Juz find his reply "irresponsbile". Other JPs I've looked for gave me a clear answer = No, not available. If I "gong gong" wait till Jan, dun have then I die.. Hahahaha...

Some JPs are too "famous" till their eyes on top of their head le.. You may say "they are doing free out of good-will, they have their job,cannot hiam, blah blah blah..." Well, all the most U should be responsibe in your behaviour. Give me feeling that "you are begging me now.. U are at my mercy".. SAI.. He is one that really pissed me off.

dun angry, but wah, your comments really funny lah! LOL! but i understand your feelings, cos i was trying to find a JP for my super-hot date also, and a lot of them either won't entertain or are booked already. i've decided to let it be and wait until july to try and get one. stress also no use.
