I am not a Jan 07 bride but decided to pop in and ask some questions as I am thinking of holding my AD in Jan 08 and you people seem really well prep. Hope I am not "intruding". :op

Is it a good idea to hold AD on 1 Jan? Not sure as next day is working day. But the date is nice. Also thought of 31st Dec but difficult to get hotel as new year's eve party?

Mei, noticed that your AD is at Ritz. Mind sharing some details as I am also contemplating there. Who is your coordinator?
 
Hi Celestial, I'm actually a Canadian born Chinese, but my parents are from Hong Kong. My financee is also from Hong Kong and his parents live in Hong Kong, so it make sense for us to go visit his parents and relatives and do some shopping there as everything is alot less expensive there, plus with the strong Canadian dollar, everything will be even less expensive.
 
Claris, I have book my venue and BS liao. Now left with confirming the Studio and Outdoor photographer. I plan to settle these things early, then won't be so stress later.

I have only booked my hotel and the BS and nothing done yet... dunno if i am a bit slow... sigh.. now looking for AD photographer and videographer...

Sophia is asking me to go for my gown selection in June. not sure if it is abit late though... maybe give them a call and see if i can do my gown selection in May.. also dunno when i shld arrange for my PS... so many things like dunno when to do. worry later that everythng will be done so last minute!! argh.....

any one looking for wine also? I am starting to look for wine suppliers soon.. but not sure wat kind of wine to ask abt.. gals any idea..

haha... we have 7, 8 and 9 June!!! Great. so exciting.

Happyface. My venue is raffles town club and my BS is yvonne creative. For AD fotographers, I also headache and all of the output looks the same to me as well. Most of the fotographers charge u a standard charge for 10 hours of fotoshoot on AD... as for express services etc... need to pay extra. I shortlisted a few fotographers, Wan Sheng, Segami and LightedPixels, Sam Wong. Can email u the quotes I have.

If have the budget, can DIY and go for the designer ones, afterall, wedding is once in a lifetime. I have frens who want to source for make up, gown, PS, bouquets .... the costs overrun a bit but like I say, it is once in a lifetime and there is more satisfaction on the outcome. Btw, what matters to u and FH more? The style of the fotographer or the designs of the gowns etc? Some brides actually went to look for fotographers whom they like and find out which BS they are tied to before they sign for BS.

My frd(a jiemei of her frd) just gave me one contact of a seamstress. The seamstress only charge them $80. So if $80 exclude material, I think the price is reasonable.

sophia arrange for me go dwn for gown selection in july... worry too rush... my ps in oct... wanted earlier but they told me no slot unless wan hv it in lunar july... when's urs? who's ur coordinator?
 
MM packaage not too bad but well it's a little expensive. My mum also commented that there's quite a number of pillars and ya the food was so-so. haha so still scounting ard. anyone heard abt the legends?

my BS advise me to take in early july ...i was hoping that they can make it in late Sept or early Oct ....but they say very rush photo may not be ready ....unless i wan to take it in Sept which is lunar 7th month

Hui Jing, my AD also same as you.. our 1st priority was also 22 dec 07 followed by 31 dec 07... we still haven another back-up choice in jan 08.. u got ur dates fm geomance?

For Allan, I have told him that most likely i will get him so I am not worried.

Me also quite worried abt my gown. I have not confirm a date. Hebe my cordinator said that most likely she will be calling me in June to select gown. but since u say they hv no slot, i better call them to tell them i want it in May.. will let u know wat they say....

sigh.. quite worried too...

Chere... actually, if given the time and money, I would also like to DIY as it is once in a lifetime thing. Get your venue first though.... fotos...bs... all the rest comes later. Keep us updated here
