think im a bit late on the "giving out of wedding invites in lunar 7th month" topic.... but just wanna share with all my experience.....

my wedding day is on 20 sep.... which is 10th day of lunar 8th month.... and when we went to the feng shui master for "guo da li" dates, he gave us 20th day of lunar 7th month.... i did ask him if it's alrite... he told me, as long as after the 15th day of lunar 7th month, it's alrite.....

but after we went back to inform our parents, both also not comfortable..... said it's weird to give out invites in the lunar 7th month....

so we went back to the master for another date.... in the end, he gave us a date (3rd day of 8th month) that's pretty close to our wedding day.... but at least both mums felt more comfortable with the date.......

think there's no right or wrong with giving out invites in 7th month, just how comfortable you or your family are with the dates.....

just my 2c worth....

then she can advise on a few stuff from contraceptives, possible heriterary diseases to how to prepare for childbirth.

hi all!

I brought a 2GB + another 1GB card cos heard from forummers and friends that they took 1000+ photos. Worried that i would be at this exceptionally beautiful place and then, die! run out of memory card space.

But turned out that was quite kiasu. cos only took 800+ photos, for which 2GB was more than enough. used mid-range quality for about 200, and best quality (7 mega pixel camera) for the rest.

My HM was for 9D (incl flights) so not sure if 2GB will be enough for your 15 day trip - depends also if you're the kind that wants to document everything.

think it's more of the total GB you need to download that causes it to be slow. If you have 200 pix that take up the same space as 10 pix of higher quality, then the time should be the same?

I din have problems downloading... only took a long time uploading high quality shots.
 
Thanks gals for all the inputs, I love to take photos .. mm wrong.. actually i like to be in the photos :P so i will bring 3x 1GB so total 3GB. If can borrow 1 more then will bring 4GB.. thinking of bringing tripod also, so me n hubby can be in the photos together.

i thought i was pretty lucky cos lately it had been raining in the afternoon..the nite before the PS..it was raining..i was so worried that i didnt sleep until 3!! But the weather was not too hot..we perspire..but becos it was late evening liao..so not too bad...

yes, nappy ang pao is on top of the pin jing. The parents of the bride do not need to return any amount of the nappy ang bao back to the bridegroom side. (May do so for ping jin). Hence the amount for nappy ang bao is usually smaller amount (eg. $128 onwards, less than $1k).

Afterall, when I get older regardless if I have kids or not, I will also put on weight, skin will sag, etc.

i went for Premarital checkup with HB early this yr. think alot of hosptials, clinics have. i went under corporate rate so $70+++ (added a few other tests like to test possible heriterary diseases, etc). like wat Jess said, the doc will also give advice on family planning, etc. planing for kids or not is aside, underlying is to make sure we are all healthy...it's like a detail health checkup if u look at it...
