no probs. i went there on my own, took the skytrain on my own, went jatujak alone and covered mbk and a whole of other places. just dun wear conspicuously - diamonds, gold, branded bags.. i wore a simple tee and berm. yr first time there???

Hotel intercontinential will charge $30+++ over their 2004 price for 2005 dates.. no guarantee that they will increase so much for 2005 but if u want to book before the 2005 price is out, that is the price u need to pay.

Anna - not sure about hyatt and marriot but have ask mandarin before and they say that as long as you book in 04 the rate will apply no matter when your AD in 05'.

You can call up Mandarin Banquet and check?

you really like bkk so much ah? i been there twice. once stopover for holiday and once for wk.. not really my kind of place for a holiday but it is a shopping place if you are a shopping person. shoes are cheap. all 199 baht. erm.. but not very lasting.

anna- concorde not a bad choice also...although hotel look old but feedback about the food and service are quite good...the rate reasonable too...i thk they are only charging about $650 for weekend....

Icy - any idea which hotel your FH will be staying...ask him to stay in hotel at World Trade centre, you dun have to take public transport if you fear travelling alone...all shopping are located there, if not stay in Pathumwan Princess, beside it is the famous MBK shopping centre...wherby you can things from head to toe...shoes selling only at $10/pair...

Hyatt - I think the same rate as what u see.

Talk to the coordinator before, if sign up this year, then will be this price.

fh oso like to stay in the north so we did go and see some north places. think you can try the rosewood or the casablanca. but i think both are overpriced plus rosewood is ugly.
quintet we oso consider but the price is not so attractive at this moment.
cos resale for northvale condo is ard 350-380 psf. so if you buy anything abv this means that when you resale might lose $.

Hmmmm....i notice that everyone here is holding their banquet during the weekend.

guess I'm the only one here holding it on a Monday. For me, it's juz too taxing to have tea ceremony, church wedding and dinner banquet all on the same day. Furthermore, weekday dinner is more affordable!

fates - of cos i will not miss out on their msg...in fact i feel so good after trying their thai massage on 1st nite, i ask for aromotherapy massage on my second nite....so comfortable..esp after walking for the whole day...whole body ache leh

I do agree with tauroco tht their pedicure and manicure not that great bt being a KS singaporean, only $12 for both leh...no good also must do...I get the hotel massage service so dunno about those in MBK
