2 different set menus at Wedding?

Hi, I am wondering if anyone could assist me with this. I am intending to hold my wedding early 2010 and would prefer to have a sit-down western set menu during the dinner reception. However, because I will be inviting my relatives as well, I intend to arrange for Chinese set menu for them only (and the rest of my guests Western) which the Catering Sales Manager at my preferred hotel said it cannot be done as they do not cater 2 menu choices in one event. I am giving up on all other negotiations with her just to have her to compromise with me on this request but she is rigid and refused to bulge. Is my request really impossible or should I go looking elsewhere?

u can book a venue e.g. Asian Civilization Museum and then get outside caterers to provide the food.

i think its better than u look around and ask before u sign d package. there is always rooms for negotiation. n try not to b shy to ask for as much freebies as possible.

Hi Koala Girl, I just saw your post and can see its an old one. I'm also organising a two menus courses for the chinese and ang moh guests. Just like to ask how's your experience doing these? Did your western guests find it ok?

I'm booking mine at Asian Civilization Museum which I also cater to partial vegetarian. Caterer normally more "qin cai" they can cater to your needs unlike hotel or restaurant where we (bride & groom) compromise. Maybe you can call my caterer Rasel.
