Thanks for your replies. Cos I wanna find out what's the current practice among modern day couples. Our parents' times, wedding didn't cost so much like now. Now easily 50k and above just for banquet so I don't see how we can pay for it if not for the angbaos.

@jenajackson exactly! Even Taobao sizes don't really match ours, so it's quite tough to get dresses there also. If really no choice, I just ask them to buy big tees and shorts haha.

JP angbao rates range from 80 onwards. No fixed rate, but more like token of appreciation. I gave mine $128 and even invited him for buffet dinner at the hotel, which he didn't reject hahaha.

I would also like to add that their dinner buffet for solemnization was superb! Never have I enjoyed buffet food so much before. Even my guests agreed that the food was delicious. Very generous portion also.
