same here! in fact, now we're even thinking of fetching the bride from our new home. and have tea ceremony there for bride's parents. cos bride's parents place abit cramped.. then groom tea ceremony at hotel, tgt with some of bride's relatives..

I like his advices too! he actually laughed at many of such "traditions" and told us those are not traditions or auspicious at all. but he also added that if the elders really want the couple to follow certain traditions, "just do it lor".
