BTB 2020 here. Was looking for a couple to possibly share the venue for rental for cost saving purposes.
The proposed venue is hort park MPH, where we could book a full day, and split the hours (one takes "lunch hours" and one takes "dinner hours". Wondering if that would be possible.

My brother in law got married at the Hort park a couple years ago (and there's another friend planning the same in Feb 2019) - It's not easy to split into 2 timeslot it takes almost half a day to settle the decor, and move in the chairs and layout, as well as the buffet setup. almost same time required for dismantling. Hort Park Management is not known for being customer driven, so they will not allow overnight setup.

Example:
If your event starts at 12pm and ends at 3pm, then the setup will have to begin around 9am, and the dismantling would be only complete by 5pm. That usually leaves dinner very little time to setup, lest you have a huge team.

Cheers!

Thanks for sharing!

The main reason for this is mainly is save on the rental expenses. Since the full day rental is 8-10 pm, I was thinking that ending the morning/lunch session by 2 may work out with some overlapping buffer time.
With a group of >150, I thought that it'd be nice to make the full use of the rental price. (since the rental price for 4 hours is the same as splitting a full day block into 2, and we both get an extra 3 hours).

It is possible, but will take both side (dinner and lunch) to have very strong and responsible coordinators to help you to settle the logistics, and also ensuring the cleanup's done ahead of the next session. May also need to verify the fineprints of the Hort Park agreement - Some clause may prohibit subletting.

That's true.
Maybe we'll be better off searching for a more affordable location, rather than looking for a venue-rental-partner.
