Wedding Decor Price

Hi all BTB, I am planning to engage a wedding decor company for my AD venue set up. Met with three vendors (Rosette, Insidetheknot & Wedding diary) already and their quoted price is a bit out of our budget. Do we really need wedding planner to decorate the venue or any bride actually DIY everything? Wanted to try DIY but I feel like it is quite tough. And we also not sure whether we need wedding coordinator service (usually come tgt with wedding decor with a top-up) on AD. Any ideas?

Is ur actual day at a hotel or somewhere else?
My actual day is in hotel. But according to them, only basic decoration will be provide (a few stalks flower on guest table and simple fabric deco for reception table). I am thinking if I want to have a photo table and a nicer stage (cause I plan to ROM in the banquet hall as well), I am not sure I should diy or engage someone to do it. Did you engage any wedding decor?

Hello, i think it differs with different people's pov?
As for me, i didnt engage extra vendors for the deco of the venue (mine in hotel as well), so basically i'm using the hotel's simple deco for the ROM table as well as reception area and banquet hall itself.
The rest of the deco, perhaps can just buy some flower petals and get the sisters gang to assist to deco it up?
Just sharing my perspective yah.

Your hotel outsource the decor to any company? If so, u can contact the company that the hotel liaise with and see if there are any other decor that u can add to the existing one... My hotel also provided simple decor. But I spoke the the company that does the decor directly for any new changes to decor.

Hello! I engaged a decor vendor Amperian for a full fledged decor cos my venue isnt a hotel and it doesn't come with any decor. I compared quotes among some decor companies and found Amperian's quote the most reasonable considering the big scope of decor we require. Their response is very prompt and on-the-ball. My experience with them so far is very good.

Ah. Mine is not at a hotel but at a chlet instead. I think it depends on what u want ba. I helped out my friend's rom at m hotel. The hotel provided like same thing. The table, cloth and flower centre pc. So we did up a little showing their wedding album, couple photos, a guestbook and a handmade angpow box. Of coz with some little figurines. I don't have the photo with me anymore though.

Yea. My hotel actually outsource florist deco. So I can liaise with them to top up some other design? I know real floral are expensive that's why I don't really want to top up and add more flowers. If I am going for another alternative( such as candles, fairylight etc), do you know whether do they provide as well? If you don't mind me asking, how much additional you top up for changes/addition of deco of your wedding?

Mine is a wedding lunch so I am afraid I don't have enough time to set up my deco. Based on your experience, how much time you girls take to set up all the deco? For now, I think I need deco for my rom table, reception table, photo table and some simple deco on the stage maybe.

Oh. Hers was also a luncheon. We took about an hour or so. Coz there were five of us and the decor were pretty much pre prepared before the day itself. So we only had to position the piece. It was pretty simple. Nothing too over the top

Need to check with the florist decor for the stuffs u need (fairy lights etc).. For mine, decor was all fresh flowers but I didn't have to top up additional money. For reception table and the table for photo albums I diy myself. Bought stuffs from carousell, taobao etc

Actually simple decoration will do right? The guests don't really spend much time at the reception area. Maybe I can really try to DIY something haha

Lol. It all depends on what u want la. Simple decor will just look "cleaner" overall. Unless u set high standards, want everything lavish la. But personally I feel decor is a waste of money and resource. End of the day even if u buy the stuffs yourself instead of engaging the pros, they end up in the dustbin. I suggest if you have jie mei, or a bunch of closer friends, get them involved so u don't have to headache. :)
