I accompanied by mum to buy the guo da li stuff for my sister wedding at Chinatown. You can consider going there too. The shop owner that we end up buying from has more modern stuff and she is very well versed (think her unit no is 01-77 or 777). Sorry but I wasn't very observant. But there are plenty of these stores around the complex and you can go explore as well as compare price. Cost wise I feel they are cheaper than those in the shopping malls. It is located at the complex next to the Buddha Tooth Relic temple.

Thanks!!! Yeap I heard about the china town shop but yet to visit it... Probably nearer to the dates den will pop by :))

I will google for the shop :)) no worries :))

Hi hi, my dialect group is Cantonese.

You can checkout http://www.thechineseweddingshop.com.sg/
Best is if you can go down to their outlet and take a look. The person at AMK very helpful. She spent like 15 min explaining every steps to us. Giving us an overview. Too much details but she say we will be giving a step by step manual to refer to!

Wow we are the fewer of the fewer ppl choosing apr for our wedding. Where are you holding yours? How is your preparation?

I haven't get my hotel yet... Still looking around and mostly taken up for dinner.... I'm looking for 30 April hmm and below 1500

Hihi I am also having my banquet at parkroyal Beach road but is a dinner. Does your coordinator let you have a trial run at the ballroom before the actual day?

Hi Serene, I did ask them whats the definition of trial run. Their full rehearsal refers to the full setup with stage which will incur a cost. If its just to look at the venue and test the system to ensure video and stuff will play, then that wont require a charge but subjected to their schedule availability. When will you be holding your wedding? =)

I have the same wedding date and same bridal studio as you! haha!

I wanted to get makeup for my mum too but was thinking if bs have time to do it for me

So coincidental! Lol! Where are you holding your wedding at? Lunch or dinner??

I think if you schedule is tight.. better get a separate one for your mum so that time is not wasted waiting for one another. :)

Have you done your photoshoot yet?

MUA for mother n mother in law? No le..they make up themselves

Printing of wedding cards? Not hotel provide the printer then we pay??

Flowers? M taking theirs..save $$..wat else to source for?? Now left wedding bands?

The printing of cards maybe you can source design and see who the vendors are so you roughly know what you want instead of getting a shock when you get there?

Flowers depends on individual and what happens when your htb collect flowers. Have heard of many stories that what you see in pictures are not what you get.. so have a back up in mind in case such things happen..

Congrats :) have u found your venue ? I checked with 2 places and it has been booked. 1 of the coordinator mentioned that it is a popular date.
I bookedat Genting Hotel Jurong ..Actually I was lucky as the Cour in front of us give up as they had 30 plus tables and Genting hotel Jurong Max only can have 28 tables .. In May we started finding , a few hotel that we wanted already full at that point of time .. U must faster secure a venue.. Which venue U looking for ?? Can try rendezvous hotel??

Hihi I am new here and would like to know if anyone have recommendations for small weddings. I am only planning to get 6-8 tables (no guest to invite) but it seems like a lot of places are doing 15 and above. Also any recommendations on bridal studio? Preferably not too ex. Any replies would be appreciated.
You can try Park Hotel Clark Quay or the new hotel at Alexandra ... They are those hotel that can have max 10 tables ... I got email them and ask before

I attended a wedding of about 6 tables at the Chiu Huay Lin Teochew Club (really cosy, not too bad) you can check it out.

My AD was over last week, and I'd def recommending buying from Taobao. I bought all for less than $80:
- A few varieties/sizes of angbao (to differentiate amounts)
- Many different varieties of Xi deco/stickers
- Big wall Xi for bedroom (see pic, I actually have one extra, unopened, to let go)
- Wedding cushions (see pic)
- Dragon phoenix candles (Chinatown sells a pair for $22, I bought 2 pairs+sea shipping for $14. Sensitive item, cannot ship by air.)
- Very comfy wine red couple PJs for wedding eve @ $9 each
- GDL items like dragon phoenix combs, couple toothbrushes, 老公老婆 towels

Bought tea set and couple bowls from Chinatown cos fragile, and also to support the old owner couple.

If you want to save money for GDL, can also buy regular pink/red items like toothbrush/wash basin/lamps/combs from Daiso and just paste Xi sticker over.

Hi there! Could you share more info on ur experience with pan pac?
More than happy to! Mine was a lunch banquet at the Pacific Ballroom. We were so happy we went with lunch in the end (we had wanted dinner but the minimum was 45 tables vs 35 for lunch) because the reception area had an abundant daylight perfect for photo-taking, esp if you had a photo booth! Even if without, you can be sure you'll look extra radiant in the selfies with your guests!

As for food and service, my guests had nothing but raving reviews. The food was really mediocre during food tasting, which got us a bit worried, but family members commented that it was wayyyyy better on the actual day. Friends kept telling us that the food was of extremely high quality, and so was the wine. In fact our wine consumption overshot by 22 bottles on top of the 1 complimentary bottle per confirmed table, but we're fine as long as they enjoyed themselves. Hubby remarked that he was glad we didn't consign additional wines ourselves else the quality might differ too much haha. My Japanese boss said he was surprised how promptly the drinks were refilled given the scale of the event. I must say that their banquet servers all worked very professionally based on the feedback I received.

Can't leave out the banquet manager Ramly and a staff that took care of us. Our schedule was adhered to a T, and they were always so calm and reassuring, and constantly reminding us to eat. Whenever Ramly offered us water, it was always a glass of iced and a glass of warm water so I could choose, complete with straw. Seriously, I couldn't have asked for more.

Other things worth mentioning was that I requested to keep the ROM function room on Level 2 for changing for second march-in so I do not have to go all the way up to the suite since the lifts at PanPac are known to be excruciatingly slow.

If you are having lunch with ROM too, I recommend you find time before the actual day to rehearse your march-in because the groom hardly had any time to test the march-ins etc before we had to prepare for ROM. I think he only had time to confirm the rundown with the banquet manager. You might be able to do full rehearsal if you can make it at a time all 3 Pacifics are available. We could only do the technical rehearsal in Pacific 2 cos there were corporate functions on both sides.

All in all, we're just really pleased and have zero regrets choosing PanPac. =))

Hi everyone! Just chanced upon this as I was doing some desktop research :) Am probably going to be a Nov 2016 bride, we're still in the midst of finalising our venue for lunch. Was considering either Goodwood Park or Conrad, but leaning towards the latter. Anyone else considering these 2 hotels too? :)
