I went to last year's roadshow (i think was Nov 2014) only after signing up so not sure if it will be relevant to you. Hahaha but will try to answer.

1. If i did not remember wrongly, they sent the wish list to me together with the banquet menu when I emailed them for an appt.
2. My wishlist did not come with the 10% off F&B bill, it was just
  • Complimentary 2nd barrel of beer (30L)
  • 1 bottle of house wine per confirmed table
  • Consecutive two-night stay in a Bridal Suite, with breakfast for two at Sands SkyPark
  • Complimentary one-night stay in a Deluxe Room
  • Corkage waiver for 1 bottle of duty paid wine per confirmed table
  • Candy station for up to 50 guests
3. But for us we only booked 20 tables so we can only choose 1 of the above wishes. If you book more than 40 tables, you can choose 2 wishes.

Oh sorry i forgot 1 more thing that i asked to swop, i didn't want beer to be served so I swop for wine instead.

Oh I see! This helps a lot! I was super confused when I found this 'perks list' and 'wish list'..
but you helped to clear up a lot.. hehe..
Many thanks! Looking forward to more of your reviews about MBS nearer to your big day! :)

I went for this year's show, its on a much much smaller scale compared to last year.. The prices are the same for 2015 and 2016 though the perks have been reduced.. I thought I could see all the themes to choose from live at site again, but end up can only see powerpoint slides =S

Hi MBS BTB,

Any of you will be holding your wedding in 2016? My wedding date is 24Jan2016, I have signed up with them and too pay the deposit during the workshop. My ballroom is the Main Melati Ballroom, have anyone held in that ballroom before? I hope you can share with me your experience.

I was told that the coordinator Jeremy would contact me but its like almost 2weeks already i did not receive any email from MBS yet.

@heisenberg86 i heard that the coordination service euphie provide was excellent.. i hope Jeremy does not dissappoint me because his service have got bad reviews from previous couple who held their wedding at MBS.

I think by another 2weeks or so if he doesn't contact me i will ask my wedding Planner to contact him directly.

May i knw who is ur coordinator?

My coordinator left already, heh... If you don't feel comfortable waiting then can try calling their common line and asking for Jeremy? I didn't even know my coordinator when I signed up, they just told me someone will contact me

I am currently being tagged to Jeremy and am facing the same issue as you..
I would suggest you call them and ask for Jeremy as he can be really slow in replies most of the time..

Hi to all the BTB.

My coordinator is Jeremy too. After we met him, he promised that he will send us the contact 2 weeks later. But we waited for a month. My HTB decided to call him and ask if he is interested in this sales. :pAnd told him that we had read some bad review about him. He got a shocked, and kept apologising for the delay. After that call, he was very prompt and so far everything is fine.

So I would suggest all the BTB to give him a call. :)

I went to the wedding fair in No 2014. But didnt sign up, cos my wedding will only be in June 2016.
I contacted jeremy in march wanting to book an appointment with him. My emails went unanswered and he only responds to calls to his mobile. He wont call back even after he promised that he'll follow up.
I'm waiting for the next MBS fair to sign up, and hope i get a different coordinator.

Anyone has any idea when the next MBS fair will be?

It just ended in late March. I didn't know Nov'14 had one.. Maybe it'll be Nov'15? Since there was one in Mar'14 and Mar'15

Hi I'm about to sign up with mbs as well but I'm a little concerned regard the mode of payment. They require scan images of my credit card, both front and back, which may contain sensitive info e.g. CVV number. Is this a normal practice, or has anyone faced similar concerns before? (Sorry if I do sound a little noob here...)

Thats normal. If you are uncomfortable with people taking your details, you are free to pay via cold hard cash.
There is no cause for worry. With the advance in technology, any crime or unauthorised use of credit cards is easily traced.
How much do you have in your card? 7k limit? Nobody is dumb enough to risk his life for 7k.
I will willingly scan my credit card front and back to you. You dare to use?

Hi, I have tried contact MBS to schedule a meet up with their coordinator because we wish to book a lunch banquet in June 2016. The coordinator who first replied our email was Jeremy.. but after the first 2 correspondence, he was not responsive. I've called him and he said he will check on the schedule before getting back to me.. but unfortunately he hasn't. Is it because I am only intending to have a lunch reception and therefore he isn't interested? Are you all able to meet up with him/other coordinators on weekends?

Hi Kemise! You need to give him a few nudges via call or/and SMS.. Mine is a lunch reception too in 2016..
Rest assured that you are not alone..
Drop him an SMS to give him a nudge.. :)

If you don't mind giving him a few nudges here and there, actually he is a decent coordinator to deal with..
And I am saying this after an encounter with another coordinator while Jeremy was on leave..
Jeremy is the better one.. ;)

I was equally frustrated initially due to his lack of response too.. but overtime, have gotten used to it and am pretty ok with giving him some nudges! :D

Heyya thanks loads! Yes I decided to SMS him as he didn't reply my email... and decided to call him after not replying to my SMS :p And he managed to allow us to meet up with his colleague Aih Kim tomorrow :)

Who was the other coordinator that you encounter?

Haha, and did you sign your package at the wedding fair this year ? :p Mind sharing your perks/packages that you received? :D

Thanks a lot again! :D

That is good for you! If you liked Aih Kim, then ensure that she will be your wedding coordinator right up till the actual day (AD might be a different person).
I started discussion with MBS in Jan 2015 and waited till Mar 2015 to know the perks and signed the package (with the wedding fair perks) this month.
That is because I have already submitted the credit card confirmation last month and now we are just tying up loose ends in terms of the actual paperwork.

The perks is exactly the same as the wedding fair. In addition, I had 25% parking.

That is pretty much what we can get from it. It seems really hard to negotiate for more, on top of the perks.
My friend had the same encounter today with Novotel, real tough to negotiate for more.

Just curious, which ballroom are you choosing? You can wait for my reviews in Mar 2016! :D

Oh so for the actual signing of the package, you and your SO have to go down personally to sign? What about the deposit too?

Our perks weren't fanastic, as we decided to hold a strictly non-alcoholic event, she offered us a 2nd consec night bridal suite, an additional deluxe room stay within 3-6 months, 75% wedding cards printing, ROM solemnization room and additional LCD/projector system. She wasn't keen to give us additional parking spaces (o well).

May I know what are the perks that you've gotten? Yours is wedding lunch as well right (if i recall correctly?)

She offered us Simpor Junior room or Roselle Junior room because our tables are maxed at 27 though most likely we will cap at 25. What about yours? :)

And, forgot to mention this... congratulation on your big day! Happy planning too! (though it's tedious!)

Hi Diminiblue,

Can you share with me the perks that they offered in the showcase in Mar 2015? I missed the showcase but would like to have a rough idea what kind of perks they can provide.

Thank you so much.

Off the top of my head, there was 5% off total banquet bill and room for helper use until 6pm.. I can't recall the rest, but I'll see if I still can find it when I get home

free flow bear, and 1 bottle of wine per confirmed table.. if im not wrong

5% discount for 20-30 tables
10% discount for 31-40 tables
15% discount for over 41 tables

Dinner:
Unlimited free flow beer
Use of helper room from 2pm to 6pm
Complimentary bottle of wine per table, subsequent bottles at 55% discount

Lunch:
Same as dinner, except helper room is 9am to 12pm

I'm not sure if what's listed on the handout is all they are offering though, because when I signed up last year, I was given free flow alcohol (beer and house wine) even though it wasn't listed and I didn't specifically asked for it. But I'm glad they offered it :D

Hi, anyone already had their banquet knows if MBS will send some food to your room after your banquet?
Cos I heard that there are hotels who do this as the couple don't get to eat anything during the banquet

MBS has 3 vendors for floral decorations.. May I know if anyone has any recommendation too? :) thanks!!

Hi Dear MBS bride-to-be, I would like to know the recommendations as well. I understand from my wedding decorations vendor that one of the florist do provide fairy lights backdrop. :)

I booked mine in 2014, lunch had perks too, although lesser than dinner. This year lunch and dinner perks are the same during the show though. You asked after the show is it?

Yup I booked after the show as we couldn't attend the show back in March. But was told that lunch didn't have the total bill discounts unlike in 2014 where it was extended to both lunch and dinner.

Hmm it wasn't specifically stated on the 2015 handout that lunch don't have discount  I would have thought its applicable for both lunch and dinner.

We were initially considering MBS but did not have a good experience during the meeting with them. Emailed Jeremy to schedule an appointment and he took 3 days to reply. We eventually met up with Aih Kim but felt that there was also a lack of professionalism. From our conversation (where Aih Kim describes how she deal with previous clients and how she was not able to answer some of our questions) we could foresee several problems that can potentially happen. Most importantly, we felt that the place lacks the intimate setting that we were looking for for our wedding.

JTS, i had my wedding dinner in March 2015 (around 4 months ago). had a good experience in general! :) never regret even though i was worrying so much before that, and even wanted to change venue. i had outdoor ROM along garden walk (so pretty!) and a long march-in for banquet @ Roselle Junior Ballroom! during my time, there was supposed to have 3 florists but 1 of them pulled out last minute, and i had to choose between the other 2. actually all of them can customize the designs (e.g. fairy lights) but of course, at a top up price!
we get to choose 2 course menus on that night (we had a 2nd night stay, so we can order anytime within these 2 nights).
jennifer used to be our coordinator (very flexible!) but unfortunately, she left shortly after we signed the contract. aih kim took over. she was okay, just that she may be abit inflexible and does not respond much. however, 1 month before the wedding, she was super prompt, replies my sms immediately and told me that i can call her anytime, even on weekends. thumbs up for that.

Good to hear that you had a great wedding! =)

Aih Kim responded to my emails quite promptly though.
But Aih Kim has changed to Zi Ling now, its my 3rd coordinator since I signed =___= And so far I have had zero contact from the new person.

Hi Diminiblue, we are looking at MBS to hold our banquet too and when I called MBS catering department, they assign Zi Ling (catering & banquet manager) as my coordinator too. So far, encounter with her has not been too good and pleasant , she is rather lax and no initiative to follow up, replying email in an unprofessional manner and inflexible for adjusting to our requirement. Good thing we have not sign up anything with her yet till we do an on site inspection. We are really keen to use MBS but because of the unprofessional manner we received from Zi Ling and the inflexibility to cater to our needs, we are still hesitating. Has anyone ever call up MBS to request for a change of coordinator, kindly advice?

Im considering MBS as my wedding venue and looking at their SG50 promotion. Any more recent reviews? The food, is it better now? Some people seem to have a preconception that the food at MBS is bad...

My fiance just attended a MBS wedding last Saturday. He told me some of the seafood was not fresh and was quite disappointing. He only liked the first dish and also mentioned the rest are either not up to standard or so-so. I never attend the wedding myself so i'm not very sure. But my fiance is not a picky eater so...
